On March 1, 2019, NutraBio enhanced their amazing nootropic-enhanced essential amino acid supplement, Alpha EAA intra workout supplement with a third flavor system:
Strawberry Lemon Bomb!
Now, it’s available in the rest of their “Sports Nutrition Series” of supplements:
- NutraBio Pre Workout (#1 rated pre workout – no ‘hardcore’ stimulants needed!)
- NutraBio Intra Blast (muscle-building intra workout — although we are honestly liking Alpha EAA more for our purposes lately)
- NutraBio Reload (post workout recovery, hydration, and creatine/betaine)
- BCAA 5000 (60 servings – added April 5, 2019)
- EAA Pure (for store retailers only – added April 5, 2019)
This means you can take your entire pre / intra / post workout stack the strawberry lemon bomb way.
This flavor system is the bomb
What we didn’t know when we originally wrote this article was how good this flavor system is! We’ve since received a tub of Strawberry Lemon Bomb Alpha EAA, and this is better better than advertised. Same goes for Reload and PRE!
Below, we have information from Michael Perez, NutraBio’s flavorist, about this flavor. The summary is that it’s far heavier on the strawberry side, and is a flavor that we’d recommend to anyone so long as they like strawberry flavoring. It’s not too powerful, but not weak, and the lemon simply covers up a touch of the tartness at the end, but isn’t overwhelming whatsoever.
Of the new flavors released lately, this is the “go-to” flavor if you’re not into the citrus part of Cherry Limeade or if Dragon Fruit Candy is a bit to “out there” or “exotic” for your taste buds. Strawberry Lemon Bomb is for everyone!
Alpha EAA was the first supplement to get this flavor, then came the other popular NutraBio sports series of supplements such as Intra Blast, Reload, and NutraBio PRE, and finally, BCAA 5000 and EAA Pure got the flavoring as well.

Mike's Strawberry Lemon Bomb Alpha EAA Flavor Review
A word with Michael Perez, the flavorist
Given so many excellent flavors coming out of NutraBio lately (100% Whey Protein Isolate Breakfast Flavors anyone?!), I decided to give Michael Perez, the company’s flavorist, a phone call.
Michael’s been spending the past few years working on flavor and taste chemistry, and learning how the tongue (and brain) reacts to everything that gets thrown at it.
When it comes to amino acids, Michael’s been working with different tropical fruits. In his words, the unflavored fermented BCAAs are a “punishment” to drink — they’re acids after all!
To assist with this, Michael utilizes different citric and malic acid ratios to help correct the bitter notes. Then he sources to several flavor companies, comparing and tinkering with perfect combinations. NutraBio’s Dragon Fruit
The Strawberry Lemon Bomb profile: more mild, shorter-lasting
Strawberry Lemon Bomb target a different market than NutraBio’s new Dragon Fruit Candy flavor system. Whereas that one is a bit more “over the top” and carries for quite a while, this is a bit more mellow due to strawberry’s less intense flavor. It’s designed not to carry in the mouth forever, and is targeted towards people who enjoy a sip with a “shorter ride”.
While it’s heavier on the strawberry side, you get hints of lemonade to fill in the aftertaste so you don’t pick up the bitter fermented aminos. Ultimately, citric and sweet buds are targeted here, and it’s targeted towards those who want a less insane flavor.
Whereas Dragon Fruit Candy is popular with Millennials, this may get back to NutraBio’s older Gen-X and Boomer demographics.
Miguel is the man and we’ll need to do more with him in the future – it’s great to be able to explain what they’re going for here. You can tell, he’s really proud of his work on this one:
Strawberry Lemon Bomb is the bomb!!!! This came out really (really) good.
— Michael Perez, NutraBio
Alpha EAA is the real deal
We’re also happy that Alpha EAA is first to get this flavor, because this supplement deserves every bit of attention right now — it’s an amazing formulation. With the NutraBio “EAA Platform” of 6g BCAA + 2.2g non-BCAA EAAs with added taurine, CocoPure coconut water extract, and AstraGin for absorption, it already has a great base.
But with added choline from both properly-labeled Alpha-GPC and VitaCholine, adaptogenic herb action from KSM-66 Ashwagandha, and some choline protection from Huperzine A, with what we considered to be an even better Dragon Fruit taste somehow, this supplement is simply a slam dunk.

Strawberry game amplified
In a related story, NutraBio recently reformulated their 100% Whey Protein Isolate, and they kicked off those new formulas with a new Strawberry Ice Cream flavor. This is obviously a different kind of strawberry sensation, but it was an excellent way to kick off all these new flavors this year! That review is below as well:
