Join NuLiv Science & PricePlow for a SupplySide Global Day 1 Happy Hour

NuLiv Science is closing out SupplySide Global Day 1 with us. Wednesday, October 28, 6 to 8 PM at Libertine Social inside Mandalay Bay. Appetizers, cocktails, and beer, no need to leave the property.

SupplySide Global opens its first-ever three-day expo hall on Wednesday, October 28, and NuLiv Science has the perfect way to close out Day 1. The team behind AstraGin and Senactiv is hosting a happy hour at Libertine Social inside Mandalay Bay, and they've co-branded it with PricePlow. We're thrilled to be part of it.

If you caught NuLiv's VP of Sales, Luis Gonzalez, on the PricePlow Podcast this spring, you already know how much this company has going on. Below are the event details, followed by a catch-up on everything we've covered with NuLiv this year (and a few things we haven't).

Happy Hour Details

  • Who: NuLiv Science x PricePlow
  • Where: Libertine Social, Mandalay Bay
  • When: Wednesday, October 28, 2026, 6:00 to 8:00 PM
  • What: Appetizers, cocktails, and beer

The timing works out nicely. Expo hall Day 1 will be in the books, two more show days are still ahead, and you won't need to leave the Mandalay Bay property. If you want to meet the team on the floor first, NuLiv is listed at booth #3850 in Bayside E.

Catching Up with NuLiv Science

Most of the sports nutrition world knows NuLiv for AstraGin, but the company started as a mushroom supplier. Brothers Michael and Austin Wang founded NuLiv in 1997 around one of the first patented Cordyceps sinensis ingredients produced through liquid fermentation. NuLiv opened a research lab at Taiwan's NDMC in 2000, and the absorption work that followed led to AstraGin's U.S. launch in 2010.

"...a mushroom, and a belief that ancient wisdom deserved a modern proof."

-- Michael C. Wang

Michael's son, Chief Executive Officer Richard Wang, runs the company today. NuLiv says its ingredients have gone into more than 3 billion servings across roughly 300 brand partners in 45 countries. And here's a fun one from the podcast: by kilos sold per year, CordycepsPrime (not AstraGin) is NuLiv's biggest ingredient, thanks to heavy demand from MLM wellness brands.

Episode #217 with Luis Gonzalez

NuLiv Science's Full Portfolio with Luis Gonzalez: AstraGin, Senactiv, and a Unique Industry Start | Episode #217

Luis Gonzalez, VP of Sales at NuLiv Science, joins the PricePlow Podcast for a thorough podcast covering the full ingredient portfolio, the groundbreaking 2026 AstraGin® whey protein absorption study, Senactiv®'s senolytic research arc, and more on Episode #217.

In May 2026, Luis joined Mike for Episode #217 of the PricePlow Podcast, a 70-minute tour of the full portfolio. Luis has one of the better industry origin stories we've heard. He was a gym-going Instagram affiliate in 2014 when NuLiv's Ken Montez spotted him, signed on in 2016 as a commission-only 1099 rep, and went roughly 11 months before landing his first client. He's been with NuLiv ever since.

The episode covers the 100mg versus 50mg Senactiv dosing split, why international buyers ask about gut health and longevity far more than pre-workouts, and Luis's pitch for a GLP-1 support stack built on AstraGin and Senactiv. It's a great follow-up to Episode #059 with Gerhard Hoermann, recorded at the end of 2021.

NuLiv's Two Big 2026 Studies

  • AstraGin Boosts Amino Acid Absorption from Whey

In February 2026, researchers published the first human trial testing AstraGin with whey protein. Thirty participants across three age groups (18 to 25, 26 to 59, and 60 to 80) took 50mg of AstraGin or placebo alongside whey in a double-blind crossover design. After four weeks, valine absorption (AUC) rose 14.07% and leucine 8.34% compared to placebo, and the oldest group absorbed 12.74% more total essential amino acids.[1]

Zonulin, a gut permeability marker, dropped 13% with AstraGin versus under 1% with placebo, though that difference didn't reach significance in this healthy group. Our full breakdown of the 2026 AstraGin study covers the rest.

  • Senactiv Supports Muscle Mitochondria in Postmenopausal Women

Senactiv's Rg1 Boosts Muscle Mitochondria by 173% in Postmenopausal Women: New 2026 Study

What happens when a 64-year-old woman takes 10mg of Rg1 before leg press? Muscle biopsies showed a 173% jump in mitochondrial content, a 92% progesterone increase, and no estradiol drop. NuLiv Science's first women's health study on Senactiv.

Senactiv built its research reputation on young, trained men, so this trial was a change of scenery. Researchers at the University of Taipei gave eleven postmenopausal women aged 60 to 73 a single 10mg dose of ginsenoside Rg1 (which NuLiv says matches 100mg of Senactiv) or placebo before leg press. Exercise alone didn't change muscle mitochondrial content, but Rg1 drove a 173% increase, and progesterone rose 92%.[2]

NuLiv calls it the ingredient's first dedicated women's health study. We dig into the stem cell data in our Senactiv postmenopausal women study article.

GHOST: NuLiv's Highest-Profile Partner

You can't tell the NuLiv story without GHOST. Ken Montez sent founder Dan Lourenço a persistent string of Facebook messages before anyone replied, and it took Dan about a year to stop by NuLiv's booth. Once he sat down with Ken and Michael Wang, GHOST started using Senactiv back when it was still called ActiGin. Today, NuLiv ingredients show up across GHOST's core lineup.

"The data behind AstraGin® increasing the bioavailability... made it a no brainer choice."

-- Dan Lourenço

  • Ghost Energy

    NuLivScience

Each 16oz can of Ghost Energy lists 25mg AstraGin next to 1g Carnipure carnitine and 150mg alpha-GPC. That pairing wasn't random. According to NuLiv, Dan wanted data on whether AstraGin could support choline and carnitine uptake before putting it in a can, so NuLiv designed and ran a study in three months to answer the question.

  • Ghost Legend V4

Ghost Legend V4 carries 100mg Senactiv and 50mg AstraGin alongside 6g L-citrulline and 300mg natural caffeine. That's the same Senactiv dose NuLiv ties to the postmenopausal study above. Legend V5 is in the works, but nothing has been solidified yet.

  • Ghost Size V3

Ghost Size V3 pairs 5g Creapure creatine monohydrate with 50mg each of Senactiv and AstraGin.

  • Ghost Hydration

Ghost Hydration uses 50mg of Senactiv, the serving size most products on the market use.

A Quick NuLiv Ingredient Round-Up

NuLiv's catalog has grown well past its two sports nutrition headliners. Here's a fast tour, with links to our deeper coverage where we have it.

  • AstraGin

2026 Study: AstraGin Enhances Whey Protein Amino Acid Absorption, Muscle Function, and Gut Integrity

AstraGin® is more than a pre-workout ingredient. A 2026 clinical trial shows significant BCAA absorption improvements from whey protein, faster amino acid delivery, and a 13% drop in zonulin after 4 weeks.

AstraGin is a patented Astragalus membranaceus and Panax notoginseng extract, typically dosed at 50mg, that supports nutrient absorption by acting on intestinal transporters. Our Astragalosides and Ginsenosides article explains how NuLiv gets several distinct ingredients out of the same two plants.

  • Senactiv

Senactiv combines Panax notoginseng with a rose extract. Luis counted ten published human papers on the podcast, with 100mg tied to the original endurance and glycogen data and 50mg tied to the newer senolytic (senescent cell clearing) research. Start with our Senactiv overview.

  • Astrion

NuLiv's beauty-from-within ingredient combines Astragalus membranaceus and Centella asiatica. Luis told us its 150-participant trial, which compared oral, topical, and combined use, is the largest study NuLiv has ever run. Background is in our Astrion article.

  • InnoSlim

NuLiv discovered this stim-free metabolic ingredient while optimizing AstraGin's extract ratios, and it works through the AMPK and adiponectin pathways. Our InnoSlim deep dive covers the human data.

  • Zylaria and JointIQ

Zylaria is a 500mg sleep ingredient built around the termite-nest fungus Xylaria nigripes, designed to support deeper sleep through GABA without next-day grogginess. JointIQ is a single-plant Astragalus extract, and NuLiv's in vitro research points to support for type II collagen production and proline uptake.

  • CordycepsPrime and the Prime Series

Join NuLiv Science & PricePlow for a SupplySide Global Day 1 Happy Hour

NuLiv's founding ingredient is a liquid-fermented Cordyceps sinensis standardized to 8% cordycepic acid and 0.28% adenosine. It now anchors the Prime Series, eight functional mushroom extracts that also include Lion's Mane, Reishi, Chaga, Turkey Tail, Agaricus, Shiitake, and Maitake.

  • Newer Additions

FungIQ (Lion's Mane and Chaga), Osteosine (bone support from Cuscuta chinensis and Cnidium monnieri), and Verbasnol (skin health) round out the newer releases. NuLiv also offers six ingredients for pet supplements, including the joint-focused AstraJoint.

What Else NuLiv's Been Up To

NuLiv's customer success page has some eye-opening numbers. For instance, Force Factor put AstraGin in its creatine gummies, which NuLiv describes as one of Amazon's best-selling creatine gummies.

The company also leans hard on its own safety work. NuLiv says it runs 28-day and 90-day toxicity studies (OECD 407 and 408) plus genotoxicity testing on the actual ingredient, rather than borrowing data from related materials. Its Research Library also summarizes new in vitro work showing AstraGin helped preserve intestinal tight junction proteins and supported Lactobacillus rhamnosus adhesion under inflammatory conditions.

Finally, NuLiv recertified as a B Corp in 2025 with a B Impact Score of 81.5.

"We believe businesses carry a profound responsibility."

-- Richard Wang
