The 2SHRED system was designed as a comprehensive approach to fat burning that works around the clock. Each formula contains specific ingredients targeted at supporting metabolism, controlling appetite, enhancing thermogenesis, and supporting GLP-1 function… all without stimulants. Let’s break down each formula:

2SHRED AM Ingredients

Each serving (3 capsules) of 2SHRED AM contains:

2SHRED AM Ingredients

  • MitoBurn (L-β-Aminoisobutyric Acid) – 500mg

Unmatched starts a serious 500mg dose of MitoBurn L-BAIBA (L-β-Aminoisobutyric Acid) in their 2SHRED AM formula, representing one of the most innovative ingredients in modern fat loss supplementation.

    What is L-BAIBA?

L-BAIBA is a naturally occurring amino acid metabolite that’s produced during the breakdown of valine (one of the three branched-chain amino acids or BCAAs).[1] It functions as a signaling molecule in the body, produced during exercise when skeletal muscle increases its expression of PGC-1α (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator-1α), essentially functioning as an “exercise signal” that communicates with fat cells.[2]

Research shows that L-BAIBA has numerous incredible effects on metabolism:

    • White-to-Brown Fat Conversion: L-BAIBA can trigger “browning” of white adipose tissue, converting energy-storing white fat into energy-burning brown-like fat cells.[2]
    • Enhanced Fat Oxidation: Studies demonstrate that L-BAIBA increases fatty acid oxidation in both the liver and muscle tissue, helping your body more efficiently use fat for fuel.[3]
    • Improved Glucose Metabolism: L-BAIBA has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance, creating a more favorable metabolic environment for fat loss.[4]
    • Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Research indicates L-BAIBA can reduce inflammation markers associated with obesity and metabolic dysfunction, helping create a healthier internal environment.[3]

There are even lines of research for kidney and bone protection!

    Adiponectin Effects

Adiponectin can activate AMPK and PPARα in the liver and skeletal muscle.[5] We recently explored PPARα in our articles on BAIBA and MitoBurn.

The 500mg dose in 2SHRED AM is a substantial amount based on the available research. Unlike many synthetic fat loss compounds, BAIBA works through natural pathways your body already uses during exercise, making it a smart solution for enhancing metabolic function without stimulants.

By including MitoBurn in the morning formula, Unmatched Supps leverages your body’s natural circadian rhythm to maximize fat oxidation during the day when your metabolism is naturally most active.

  • Sinetrol XPur (Citrus sinensis Extract, Blood Orange Concentrate) – 450mg

Sinetrol XPUR is a novel citrus polyphenol extract designed to support metabolic health and weight management through multiple scientifically validated mechanisms.[6]

By combining citrus extracts from red orange, grapefruit, sweet orange, and blood orange, Sinetrol XPUR offers a comprehensive, science-backed approach to supporting metabolic health and weight management, with several benefits discussed below:

    2SHRED AM

    Comprehensive Metabolic Benefits

In a landmark 12-week clinical study, participants supplementing with Sinetrol XPUR experienced significant improvements across multiple health markers:[6]

    • Body weight decreased by 3.28%
    • Abdominal fat reduced by 9.73%
    • Waist circumference decreased by 5.71%
    • Hip circumference reduced by 4.71%
    Inflammation and Oxidative Stress Reduction

Beyond weight management, Sinetrol XPUR demonstrated remarkable effects on inflammatory and oxidative stress markers:[6]

    • C-reactive protein (CRP) decreased by 22.87%
    • Fibrinogen levels dropped by 19.93%
    • Malondialdehyde (a marker of oxidative stress) decreased by 14.03%
    • Superoxide dismutase (SOD) increased by 17.38%

    Metabolic Health Improvements

The extract also showed promising metabolic health benefits:[6]

    • Fasting blood sugar decreased by 9.95%
    • Free fatty acid levels increased significantly, suggesting enhanced lipolytic activity

    Quality of Life Enhancement

A subsequent study revealed that Sinetrol XPUR use could improve health-related quality of life, especially in overweight individuals. Participants experienced significant improvements in physical and mental health components, with notable enhancements in bodily pain, vitality, and general health.[7]

    2SHRED AM Benefits

    Mechanism of Action

The extract’s effectiveness stems from its unique polyphenol composition, including flavanones like naringin and hesperidin. These compounds are believed to work through multiple pathways:

    • Inhibition of phosphodiesterase (PDE)
    • Potential enhancement of lipolysis
    • Modulation of metabolic signaling pathways

Note: This 450mg dose is just half of the daily Sinetrol XPur in the 2SHRED system. Another 450mg is in the PM set, providing the full clinical 900mg per day used in research.

  • Coleus forskohlii Extract (20% Forskolin) (Root) – 250mg

Coleus forskohlii is a traditional Ayurvedic herb whose root extract has emerged as one of the most promising natural compounds for weight management and body composition improvement. The 2SHRED system delivers a potent 250mg dose standardized to 20% forskolin (providing 50mg of actual forskolin) in both the AM and PM formulas.

Forskolin is the primary bioactive compound in the herb that works by activating adenylate cyclase, an enzyme that increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in cells.[8] This mechanism plays a crucial role in metabolic function, as increased cAMP levels help trigger lipolysis (the breakdown of stored fat for energy) via activation of hormone-sensitive lipase.[9]

Clinical research on forskolin has shown impressive results. In a 12-week study of overweight and obese men, forskolin supplementation significantly decreased body fat percentage and fat mass while showing a trend toward increased lean body mass compared to placebo.[10]

    Forskolin Weight Loss

Forskolin causes a chain reaction of events that ultimately lead to fat loss. This is the process of free fatty acid liberation. Then it’s up to you burn it with exercise!

This ingredient works in a few other ways though. Beyond its fat-burning potential, research shows it may support healthy testosterone levels in men,[10] which can indirectly support improved metabolism and muscle preservation during weight loss phases.

In a separate randomized trial examining overweight subjects following a hypocaloric diet, Coleus forskohlii extract supplementation was associated with improved insulin sensitivity and favorable changes in metabolic parameters.[11]

The 250mg dose in 2SHRED AM (with another 250mg in the PM formula) aligns with clinically effective dosages shown to support healthy weight management without stimulant effects, making it an excellent foundation for this stimulant-free formula.

  • DNF-10 Yeast Hydrolysate (from Saccharomyces cerevisiae) – 250mg

DNF-10 is a specialized yeast hydrolysate derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae (brewer’s yeast) that has been enzymatically broken down into smaller peptides with molecular weights (below 10 kDa, which likely led to its name). This ingredient has emerged as a promising appetite-control agent with clinically validated weight management properties and a completely different mechanism than what we normally see.

In a 10-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, obese adults consuming just 1g of DNF-10 daily experienced significant reductions in body weight (2.6kg) and BMI (0.9 kg/m²) compared to placebo.[12] Most impressively, the supplementation group showed substantial decreases in abdominal fat area as measured by CT scans, with significant reductions in both total abdominal fat area and subcutaneous abdominal fat.

    2SHRED

Appetite Suppression and Potential Inhibition of Fat Storage Enzymes

The mechanism behind DNF-10’s effectiveness seems to be two-fold. First, it significantly reduces caloric intake, with study participants consuming approximately 392 fewer calories daily by week 10.[12] Second, animal studies suggest it may inhibit hepatic lipogenic enzymes (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and malic enzyme) that are involved in fatty acid synthesis.[13]

Research also indicates DNF-10 works by influencing appetite-regulating hormones. In a clinical study, even a lower dose of 0.5g daily (what we have in the 2SHRED AM and PM stack together) resulted in significant reductions in body weight, BMI, and body fat mass in obese women.[14] Additional research shows DNF-10 can decrease serum ghrelin (a hunger hormone) levels, potentially contributing to its appetite-suppressing effects.[15]

Each serving of both 2SHRED AM and PM formulas contains 250mg of DNF-10, providing a total daily intake of 500mg, right in line with the effective doses demonstrated in clinical research.

  • InnoSlim (Astragalus membranaceus and Panax notoginseng Root Extracts) – 125mg

Unmatched Supps strategically includes this patented[16-20] blend of two powerful botanical extracts in both the AM and PM formulas, providing a consistent 250mg daily dose to support metabolic health around the clock.

InnoSlim combines specific parts of Astragalus membranaceus and Panax notoginseng roots to create a synergistic effect on glucose and fat metabolism. Human clinical research has shown that this combination significantly improves key metabolic markers, with participants experiencing approximately 25% reduction in insulin resistance scores, 10% decrease in fasting blood glucose, and nearly 30% reduction in blood triglycerides.[21]

InnoSlim Study: Weight Loss / Fat Loss

During the InnoSlim phase of the experiment, obese subjects saw significant reductions in body weight, BMI, and body fat percentage.[22]

The primary mechanism behind these benefits involves increased adiponectin levels (by over 20%) and AMPK activation.[21] AMPK serves as a cellular “energy sensor” that, when activated, boosts fat oxidation while reducing fat storage. Additionally, InnoSlim has been shown to regulate glucose transport by inhibiting SGLT1 (slowing intestinal glucose absorption) while increasing GLUT4 expression (enhancing glucose uptake in muscle and fat cells).[23]

By including InnoSlim in both AM and PM formulations, 2SHRED creates a continuous metabolic support system that works synergistically with the other ingredients to optimize fat metabolism and improve insulin sensitivity throughout the day.

  • aXivite Microencapsulated Phenylcapsaicin (Supplying 1% Phenylcapsaicin) – 100mg

    aXivite Phenylcapsaicin

Capsaicinoids are well-known for their metabolic benefits, but there’s far more under the hood. aXivite phenylcapsaicin enhances performance with less burn. Discover SEE Nutrition’s innovative solution for both dieters and athletes.

aXivite is a cutting-edge form of phenylcapsaicin, a synthetic analog of capsaicin (the compound that gives chili peppers their heat). This innovative ingredient offers significantly higher bioavailability than traditional capsaicin supplements — approximately 8 times more bioavailable — meaning you get more benefits from a smaller dose.[24]

aXivite has a dual-action approach to weight management. Research shows that phenylcapsaicin enhances fat oxidation during exercise, essentially helping your body use fat as fuel more efficiently.[25] In the 2SHRED AM formula, this promotes greater fat burning throughout your day.

    A Performance-Boosting Spice Ingredient

Beyond metabolism, aXivite delivers impressive performance benefits. Studies have found that phenylcapsaicin supplementation can improve exercise performance by reducing perceived exertion, allowing you to train harder and longer.[26] This is because it affects TRPV1 receptors connected to type III and IV afferent nerve fibers, which influence fatigue perception during high-intensity exercise.

The microencapsulation technology in aXivite also addresses a common problem with capsaicin supplements: gastrointestinal discomfort. By protecting the active compound, aXivite delivers all the thermogenic and performance benefits without the digestive issues often associated with capsaicin ingestion.[27]

At 100mg (delivering 1mg active phenylcapsaicin), 2SHRED AM provides an effective dose that supports fat oxidation, thermogenesis, and exercise performance without relying on stimulants—perfectly aligned with Unmatched’s philosophy of clean, effective supplementation.

    aXivite Phenylcapsaicin Fat Oxidation

Treatment with aXivite did, in fact, increase fat oxidation at different points during the submaximal exercise test, an effect reflected in statistically significant differences in peak fat oxidation (FOpeak) between the treatment conditions.[28]

You can learn more about this ingredient in our main aXivite article, or listen to our podcast in Episode #148 with SEE Nutrition founder Elias Chiatalas.

  • Gamma-Butyrobetaine Hydrochloride (GBB) – 50mg

Gamma-butyrobetaine (GBB) is the direct precursor to L-carnitine in the body’s endogenous carnitine production pathway. When you take GBB, your body converts it to carnitine through the enzyme gamma-butyrobetaine hydroxylase (BBD).[29]

The 50mg dose in 2SHRED AM is substantial… and deliberately so. This higher dose of GBB dramatically increases carnitine production, which plays a critical role in fatty acid metabolism. L-carnitine functions as a “shuttle” that transports long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria where they undergo β-oxidation and get converted to energy.[30]

GBB appears effective because research suggests the conversion of GBB to carnitine isn’t rate-limited by the enzyme, meaning your body can process even large amounts efficiently.[31] What does this mean? Higher doses go harder:

A Procarnitine Ingredient That Makes You Sweat!

Unmatched Supps 2SHRED AM & PM: Kris Gethin's 24-Hour Weight Management System

Be prepared for the “GBB sweat effect” though! GBB has earned its reputation as a potent thermogenic by increasing perspiration, and quite significantly at that.[32] This effect comes from its action on carnitine metabolism and also from GBB’s ability to act as a vasodilator through nitric oxide-dependent mechanisms.[33]

By enhancing both carnitine production and thermoregulation, GBB serves as a crucial component in 2SHRED AM’s low-stimulant approach to metabolic enhancement and fat mobilization. Bring your towel!

  • Laminaria japonica Extract (Fucoxanthin 10%) (Whole Plant) – 25mg

Unmatched included Laminaria japonica extract standardized to 10% fucoxanthin in both their AM and PM formulas, providing a full daily dose of 50mg of this specialized seaweed extract, delivering 5mg of pure fucoxanthin per day.

Fucoxanthin is a unique marine carotenoid found in brown seaweeds like Laminaria japonica (commonly known as kombu). It differs from other carotenoids thanks to its unusual allenic bond structure, which contributes to its potent bioactivity.[34]

Rather than stimulating the central nervous system, it works to increase energy expenditure by promoting uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) expression in white adipose tissue.[35]

This unique mechanism works alongside that in MitoBurn L-BAIBA to help convert stubborn white fat cells into more metabolically active, fat-burning cells. Human clinical research demonstrated that fucoxanthin supplementation significantly reduced body weight, BMI, and visceral fat area compared to placebo in mildly obese subjects.[36]

Beyond its fat-loss properties, fucoxanthin has also shown promising anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-diabetic effects in various studies.[37]

By including fucoxanthin in both sides of this formula, Unmatched ensures you receive round-the-clock support for metabolic enhancement while providing complementary health benefits that align perfectly with their performance-meets-longevity philosophy.

2SHRED PM Ingredients

Each serving (3 capsules) of 2SHRED PM contains:

  • KSM-66 Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) (Root) (Std. 5% withanolides) – 600mg

    2SHRED PM Ingredients

KSM-66 is a full-spectrum ashwagandha root extract standardized to 5% withanolides that delivers one of the most well-researched adaptogenic ingredients for managing stress and supporting healthy body composition.

This powerful adaptogenic herb works primarily by helping modulate the body’s stress response through the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Research shows ashwagandha can significantly reduce cortisol levels, which is often a major factor for weight management, since elevated stress hormones can promote abdominal fat storage and trigger emotional eating. One placebo-controlled study found that ashwagandha supplementation resulted in significantly greater reductions in body fat percentage compared to placebo (3.5% vs. 1.5%).[38]

Additionally, ashwagandha seems to help optimize body fat distribution. In one study, participants taking ashwagandha experienced improved android/gynoid ratios compared to placebo, suggesting it may help prevent accumulation of metabolically harmful visceral fat.[39]

The 600mg dose in 2SHRED PM aligns with KSM’s clinical research showing the most significant benefits. By including this powerful adaptogen in the nighttime formula, Unmatched helps optimize recovery, reduce stress-related eating, and promote a favorable hormonal environment for fat loss while you sleep. It will pair well with L-theanine and saffron below.

  • Sinetrol XPur (Citrus sinensis Extract, Blood Orange Concentrate) – 450mg

See above – this 450mg dose rounds out the full clinical 900mg per day shown to be most effective in research!

  • DNF-10 Yeast Hydrolysate (from Saccharomyces cerevisiae) – 250mg

    2SHRED PM

    See above.

  • Coleus forskohlii Extract (20% Forskolin) (Root) – 250mg

    See above.

  • L-Theanine – 200mg

L-Theanine is a unique amino acid most often found in green tea that promotes relaxation without sedation, making it perfect for the PM formula. At 200mg, this dose hits the clinical sweet spot for stress reduction benefits.

Research shows L-theanine significantly reduces cortisol levels in response to stress, with one study demonstrating decreased salivary cortisol compared to placebo just 3 hours after administration.[40] This cortisol-lowering effect is crucial for nighttime weight management, as elevated evening cortisol can promote fat storage and disrupt sleep quality.

L-theanine works by increasing alpha brain wave activity,[41] which creates a state of relaxed alertness often described as “calm but aware”. It also boosts GABA production and inhibits glutamate receptors, further reducing anxiety and mental stress.[42]

For dieters, L-theanine’s ability to reduce stress-eating impulses may be invaluable. The better-quality sleep it promotes also supports healthy leptin and ghrelin balance, two hormones that regulate hunger signals and metabolism.[43]

    L-Theanine Attention

L-Theanine increases attention and reduces reaction time — especially in stressed individuals![44]

Unmatched smartly pairs L-theanine with other PM ingredients like ashwagandha and saffron for comprehensive nighttime recovery that supports both mental relaxation and metabolic health.

  • InnoSlim (Astragalus membranaceus and Panax notoginseng Root Extracts) – 125mg

    See above.

  • Laminaria japonica Extract (Fucoxanthin 10%) (Whole Plant) – 25mg

    See above.

  • Saffron Extract (Crocus sativus) (Stigmas) (SafSerene) – 15mg

Saffron, the dried stigmas of Crocus sativus L. flowers, has emerged as a valuable natural ingredient in the weight management landscape. SafSerene provides a standardized saffron extract that enhances the 2SHRED PM formula’s effectiveness through multiple mechanisms.

    2SHRED PM Benefits

Clinical research shows that saffron extract can effectively reduce snacking behavior and increase feelings of fullness in users seeking weight management support.[45] The power of saffron lies in its unique bioactive compounds, including crocin, safranal, and picrocrocin, which work together to provide its beneficial effects.

Saffron’s primary mechanism appears to involve modulating neurotransmitter activity, particularly serotonin – often called the “satisfaction hormone”. By naturally influencing these pathways, saffron helps provide what many dieters seek: a genuine sense of satisfaction without feeling deprived.[46]

Beyond appetite control, saffron extract demonstrates impressive antioxidant properties and may help improve mood and sleep quality, which are of course two crucial factors for successful weight management, especially in the evening hours when emotional eating often occurs.[47]

The 15mg dose of SafSerene saffron extract in 2SHRED PM provides an effective amount to support evening appetite control without disrupting sleep, making it an ideal component of this nighttime formula.
