      Organic Spirulina Powder is the single largest ingredient in Longevity Greens+, and it's also one of the most extensively studied blue-green algae in the greens powder category. Especially at doses even smaller than this, so we're off to a great start here.

      Spirulina is actually about 60% to 70% protein by weight but also carries a dense concentration of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and antioxidant pigments including phycocyanin, the pigment-protein complex that gives spirulina its famous blue-green color. A recent 2026 review links spirulina supplementation to reduced oxidative stress, improved immune modulation, and better glycemic control across the preclinical and human literature it covers.[1]

      Spirulina's antioxidant and lipid-related effects have held up in dedicated human trials as well. In a 12-week study of adults with dyslipidemia, 1g of daily spirulina significantly reduced triglycerides, total cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol compared to baseline.[2] Longevity Greens+ provides 2,000mg per scoop, twice the dose used in that trial, so users should get comparable or greater exposure to spirulina's core nutrient and antioxidant profile.

      It's safe, too: the United States Pharmacopeia's Dietary Supplements Information Expert Committee reviewed human clinical trials, animal studies, and adverse event data before assigning spirulina a "Class A" safety rating, its best grade.[3]

      There's performance data, too: in a crossover trial, moderately trained males who took a large 6g of spirulina daily for four weeks significantly increased their time to exhaustion during a 2-hour endurance run and shifted substrate use toward greater fat oxidation, alongside higher levels of the antioxidant glutathione.[4] That trial used three times the 2,000mg here, so expect a milder effect, but it's nice to see on top of the general wellness benefits above.

    • Organic Chlorella Powder (Chlorella pyrenoidosa) - 1,000mg

      Organic Chlorella Powder is a single-celled green alga long marketed as a detox and immune-support ingredient, and unlike many other greens-powder staples, it has direct human trial data behind those specific claims. In an interesting randomized, placebo-controlled trial, older adults who took a chlorella-derived supplement for 28 days and then received a flu vaccine showed an enhanced antibody response compared to placebo, with no difference in adverse events between groups.[5]

      Chlorella also shows up in gut-focused research, aligning with the product's positionings. A randomized crossover trial in adults with constipation found that chlorella intake shifted the gut microbiome and increased fecal levels of propionate, a short-chain fatty acid tied to gut barrier function, especially in participants who started with low propionate levels.[6]

      On the antioxidant side, a 90-day crossover trial on healthy people found that a chlorella improved multiple antioxidant status markers and lowered oxidative stress and cellular aging markers, as well as reduced liver enzyme markers.[7]

      Most of these trials used chlorella doses at or above the 1,000mg found in Longevity Greens+, though the influenza study used much less (200 to 400mg daily), suggesting even modest doses can move the needle on immune markers.

    • Organic Wheat Grass Powder (Triticum aestivum) - 1,000mg

      Organic Wheat Grass Powder is the young shoot of the wheat plant, harvested well before the grain forms, and it carries a different nutrient profile than wheat itself -- it's rich in chlorophyll, flavonoids, and vitamins C and E. A review examining the gap between wheatgrass's lab research and its clinical use found evidence supporting benefits to immune system activity and oxidative stress markers in animal studies, along with early signals in areas like ulcerative colitis and general antioxidant status.[8] Phytochemical analysis of wheatgrass juice powder also confirms excellent antioxidant capacity tied to its phenolic and flavonoid content, including well-known compounds like quercetin and apigenin.[9] At 1,000mg, Longevity Greens+ provides a solid dose relative to most wheatgrass research to date, though direct clinical data with this amount doesn't yet exist.

    • Organic Matcha Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) - 500mg

      Organic Matcha Green Tea differs from steeped green tea because the whole leaf is ground into powder and consumed directly, concentrating its catechin, theanine, and caffeine content in the process.

      In a two-week trial, healthy adults who drank matcha saw a significant shift in gut microbial diversity, with 30 unique bacterial genera changing in abundance compared to just 3 in the placebo group. This included an increase in Coprococcus, a genus associated with gut health.[10]

      Matcha has also shown benefits under stress: in a randomized trial, 2g of daily matcha for two weeks helped young adults maintain attentional performance after mild psychological stress without any reported change in feelings of fatigue.[11] Both trials used roughly 2g of matcha daily, four times the 500mg included here, so Longevity Greens+ users should expect a milder version of these effects.

    • Organic Beet Root Powder (Beta vulgaris L.) - 500mg

      Organic Beet Root Powder is best known in the supplement world for its dietary nitrate content, which the body converts to nitric oxide through the nitrate-nitrite-nitric oxide pathway.

      A systematic review and meta-analysis of beetroot juice in untrained adults found it significantly reduced oxidative stress biomarkers and increased total antioxidant capacity compared to placebo, including improvements in the glutathione redox ratio.[12]

      A different dose-response trial using standardized nitrate-rich beetroot powder found that a 400mg nitrate dose improved endothelial function and an 800mg dose lowered aortic systolic blood pressure (both were measured a few hours after ingestion).[13] That trial dosed by elemental nitrate content rather than whole beet root powder, and the 500mg of whole beet root powder used here will almost certainly provide far less nitrate than those standardized doses, so the antioxidant and general wellness angle is the more reliable takeaway at this amount. But we'll take any and all nitrate that comes along for the ride.

    • Organic Barley Grass Powder (Hordeum vulgare) - 250mg

      Organic Barley Grass Powder comes from the young, pre-jointing stage of the barley plant (which is distinct from the mature grain) and shares a similar phytochemical profile with wheatgrass. A 2026 review found young barley preparations concentrate flavones like saponarin and lutonarin alongside phenolic acids and chlorophyll, with laboratory research pointing to antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity as the primary mechanisms.[14] At 250mg, it's a supporting player alongside the blend's larger greens rather than a standalone dose.

Most moringa research to date uses doses well above the 250mg included here, commonly several grams per day, so the clinical findings on blood sugar and nutrient status from those studies don't directly translate to this amount. A 2025 review of glucosinolates and isothiocyanates found evidence for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity through pathways like Nrf2, though it also noted that bioavailability varies widely between whole-food sources and concentrated extracts.[15]

      Most clinical sulforaphane research uses concentrated seed or sprout extracts rather than whole broccoli powder, so unless we see exact standardization, 250mg here should be viewed as a contributing source rather than a clinically dosed one. Still, you know Doug and Kris love their broccoli and broccoli heads!

  • Organic Reds Blend - 1,500mg

    • Organic Pomegranate Juice Powder (Punica granatum) - 500mg

      Organic Pomegranate Juice Powder leads the Reds Blend at 500mg and carries some of the most consistent human clinical data among fruit polyphenol sources. In a 12-week trial, adults aged 55 to 70 who took 740mg of pomegranate extract daily saw significant reductions in the inflammatory markers IL-6 and IL-1β compared to placebo.[16] A separate meta-analysis of 22 randomized trials found pomegranate consumption modestly but measurably lowered blood pressure across study populations.[17] Pomegranate's polyphenol content, concentrated in compounds like punicalagin and other tannins, is the proposed driver behind these antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.[18] The 740mg extract dose used in the inflammation trial is reasonably close to the 500mg of juice powder here, though extracts and juice powders aren't always standardized the same way.

      Organic Amla Powder, also called Indian gooseberry, is a traditional Ayurvedic fruit best known for its vitamin C and tannin content. A meta-analysis of randomized trials found amla supplementation significantly reduced C-reactive protein, fasting blood glucose, and LDL cholesterol compared to placebo.[19] Most of the trials behind that finding used doses of 500mg or more, somewhat above the 300mg included here.

      Organic Hibiscus Flower Powder is a calyx powder rich in anthocyanins and organic acids. In a 4-week trial, adults with metabolic syndrome who took 500mg of hibiscus calyx powder daily saw significant reductions in triglycerides and systolic blood pressure compared to placebo.[20] That's twice the 250mg used here, so Longevity Greens+ should be viewed as providing a lighter, more general dose of the same calyx powder. Either way, the overall benefits of this blend really start adding up.

    • Organic Grape Juice Powder (Vitis labrusca) - 250mg

      Organic Grape Juice Powder contributes anthocyanins and other grape polyphenols that are different from grape seed extract's concentrated procyanidins, so don't get them confused since we normally see the seed extracts in supplements. Human trials on grape powder's gut microbiome and muscle strength benefits used massive doses of 46g daily, so this amount is best viewed as a minor polyphenol contributor (and flavor enhancer!) rather than a clinically dosed ingredient.

    • Organic Acai Powder (Euterpe oleracea) - 200mg

      Organic Acai Powder is an Amazonian palm fruit valued for its anthocyanin content, led by cyanidin-3-glucoside. A 2026 review of the acai literature found most of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory evidence comes from in vitro and animal models, and noted that human clinical evidence remains limited.[21] It was a flash in the pan in the late 2000s, and while it's beneficial, it's definitely not what it was originally marketed to be. Still great to have in a fruit blend, and won't hurt the taste buds either.

    The clinical trials behind these findings typically use a gram or more of a single mushroom species. Longevity Greens+ divides all five species across a shared 500mg blend, so the amount of any individual mushroom here is going to be below what's been studied.

  • Enzyme Blend (DigeSEB®) - 100mg

    Enzyme Blend combines five digestive enzymes (amylase, lactase, protease, lipase, and cellulase) under the branded name DigeSEB, targeting the carbohydrate, protein, fat, and fiber fractions of a meal, respectively.

    In a randomized crossover trial, healthy middle-aged and older adults who took a multi-enzyme supplement with a mixed meal showed altered postprandial plasma nutrient levels compared to placebo, consistent with improved macronutrient breakdown.[24] The lactase component specifically has direct clinical support: in adults with lactose intolerance, supplemental lactase significantly reduced digestive symptoms and hydrogen breath levels, a marker of undigested lactose fermentation, compared to placebo.[25]

    Kris Gethin's selected Probiotic Blend packs 14 strains across the Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Streptococcus genera into a 25mg blend, delivering 10 billion CFU at the time of manufacturing. This section covers multi-strain probiotics generally rather than claiming outcomes for any single strain in the blend:

    The rationale for combining many strains is that different species may occupy different niches in the gut and support digestion, pathogen resistance, and immune signaling through different mechanisms. A 2021 study concluded that "The administration of multi-strain probiotics was revealed to effectively alleviate bowel tract conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome, inhibition of pathogens and modulation of the immune system and gut microbiota."[26] This is great to see, and it's worth testing, although medical claims can't be made.

    That said, on the other hand, a review comparing multi-strain and single-strain probiotics found no convincing evidence that more strains necessarily outperform fewer, but we need more head-to-head research before broad claims about total strain count are justified.[27]

    Ultimately, we often forget to take a separate probiotic and digestive enzyme supplement, so it's great to just have here in a daily greens powder.

    On tolerability, a review of 17 inulin trials found doses of 0.75g to 5g per day generally produced only mild flatulence, while doses above 20g caused more noticeable digestive symptoms in some studies.[31] At 2,000mg, Longevity Greens+ sits toward the lower end of that tolerability range, well below the 8g to 30g doses used in most of the glycemic research above. This is right where we like to see inulin dosed.

  • Nopal Cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica) - 500mg

    Nopal Cactus is a prickly pear cactus pad long used in traditional Mexican medicine, primarily studied for fiber content and blood sugar effects. In a crossover trial, healthy adults who added cactus pear fruit to their diet for two weeks saw reduced pro-inflammatory markers, including TNF-α and C-reactive protein, alongside an increase in the anti-inflammatory marker IL-10.[32] That trial used a whopping 400g of fruit pulp daily though, far above the 500mg included here, so Longevity Greens+ provides a fraction of the dose behind these findings.

    Either way, this is a very unique inclusion we've never before seen in a greens powder.

  • Japanese Knotweed Extract (Resveratrol 50%) (Polygonum cuspidatum) - 300mg

    Japanese Knotweed Extract, standardized to 50% resveratrol, is the ingredient that most directly earns Longevity Greens+ its name.

An umbrella review of 45 systematic reviews and meta-analyses covering 129 resveratrol-outcome associations found 35 significant associations across cardiovascular, metabolic, and inflammatory markers, with four supported by high-certainty evidence.[33] In a 12-week trial using 500mg of daily resveratrol, close to double the amount here, adults with knee osteoarthritis saw improved physical function and gait speed alongside increased SIRT1 expression, a longevity-associated gene often cited in resveratrol's proposed mechanism.[34] A separate trial in postmenopausal women found resveratrol supplementation reduced markers of oxidative stress, including malondialdehyde, a byproduct of lipid peroxidation.[35]

    This is a widely hailed longevity and anti-aging ingredient, but it comes from a natural source here.
