Creatine and HMB are out. A pure 6000mg citrulline dose and PeptiPump are in. Alpha Lion reworked SuperHuman Jacked for the new SuperHuman lineup, and the caffeine now runs 242mg across immediate, extended, and delayed release.
Alpha Lion SuperHuman Jacked is the muscle-building half of the brand's SuperHuman pre-workout family, built around what Alpha Lion calls Dual Peptide Technology: a fava bean-derived hydrolysate (PeptiStrong®) and a lentil-derived hydrolysate (PeptiPump®) stacked on top of a full pre-workout base. It's a 2-in-1 scoop that covers pumps, energy, and focus while also supporting muscle growth and its protection during a cut.
Get Jacked: The SuperHuman Switch for Muscle Building Pumps
Jacked arrives as part of a wider refresh across the SuperHuman line, which Alpha Lion has rebuilt under new branding and a "switch" theme, as VP of Sales Darin Decker walked through on our podcast covering Alpha Lion's new pre-workout lineup. The broader reintroduction of the SuperHuman series is linked above, and Jacked's own formula has some changes: a pure citrulline dose and the addition of PeptiPump alongside PeptiStrong, but with creatine and HMB dropped from the version of Jacked that circulated in past years.
Two Peptides, 242mg Caffeine Blend, and the First Pre-Workout with TENSIA
True to Alpha Lion's transparency angle, every ingredient and dose sits on the label with nothing hidden behind a proprietary blend. Two blends do appear in the Dual Peptide Technology and SuperHuman Energy® areas, but every member of each is individually dosed and disclosed rather than buried in a blend total.
The formula splits into three jobs: a full 6000mg of L-Citrulline for pumps, the peptide pair for muscle support, and a three-stage caffeine system for energy that Alpha Lion says avoids a hard crash. We've also got some VitaCholine for neurotransmitter support, which we always enjoy. The details are below, but first, check prices and availability on PricePlow:

Alpha Lion SuperHuman Jacked Ingredients
Each 1-scoop (19.3g) serving provides the following:
-
L-Citrulline - 6000mg
L-Citrulline is a nonessential amino acid your kidneys convert into L-arginine, the direct precursor to nitric oxide, the signaling molecule behind the vasodilation and skin-splitting pumps lifters train for. It's also one of the best-researched pump ingredients on the market, with a strong and growing evidence base behind it.
A systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials found L-citrulline supplementation lowered blood pressure, a clear marker of its vasodilating effect on the body.[1] A broader review of the exercise performance literature found citrulline supplementation linked to real, measurable gains across a range of training contexts, from endurance work to resistance training.[2]
Citrulline's cardiometabolic research is encouraging too, with reviewers pointing to its ability to boost nitric oxide bioavailability as a promising avenue for supporting healthy blood vessel function well beyond the gym.[3] Jacked's 6000mg dose lands squarely in the 6000mg to 8000mg range most consistently used in the research behind citrulline's biggest wins.
This is a change up from the dose of citrulline malate that was in the previous version of Jacked -- the dose is smaller overall, but it's the same amount of actual citrulline.
-
PeptiStrong® (Fava Bean Protein Hydrolysate) - 2400mg
PeptiStrong® is a fava bean protein hydrolysate discovered by Nuritas using an AI-driven peptide-screening platform, and it's one of the better human-studied branded ingredients in this formula.
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial using the same 2.4g daily dose found in Jacked, PeptiStrong improved strength recovery and reduced fatigue over 72 hours following resistance exercise, alongside a reduction in plasma myostatin, a protein that suppresses muscle growth.[4] A separate 56-day randomized trial combining PeptiStrong with resistance training found greater gains in leg strength and muscular endurance compared to placebo, along with a small increase in bone mineral content.[5]
Preclinical work backs up a plausible mechanism, showing the hydrolysate increases phosphorylation of S6, a downstream marker of mTOR pathway activity tied to muscle protein synthesis, while downregulating genes linked to muscle atrophy.[6]
-
PeptiPump® (Lentil Protein Hydrolysate) - 200mg
PeptiPump® is a second Nuritas-discovered hydrolysate, this one derived from lentil protein, and it's the least independently verified ingredient in the formula. According to Nuritas and Nutrabolt's own description of the ingredient when it first appeared in the industry, which we've covered before in our breakdown of PeptiPump, PeptiPump contains a network of peptides with AI-predicted activity against angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), the enzyme responsible for narrowing blood vessels by converting angiotensin I into the more potent angiotensin II.
The good news is that food-derived ACE-inhibitory peptides are a real (but perhaps separate) research category. A placebo-controlled trial found fermented dairy peptides lowered blood pressure in hypertensive adults,[7] and researchers have noted that this entire class of peptides faces a real bioavailability hurdle, since they need to survive digestion intact to reach the bloodstream and exert any effect.[8]
However, none of the research in the paragraph above was conducted on PeptiPump itself. Its ACE-inhibitory activity, along with the mTOR and glucose-uptake effects Nuritas has also proposed, currently rests on the company's AI-based prediction rather than published testing of the ingredient in animals or humans. We're awaiting more information, but we've felt great effects from other products using the ingredient. At 200mg, PeptiPump is the "X-Factor" in this formula, but it's not the only novel pump ingredient inside!
-
Betaine Anhydrous - 2500mg
Betaine, also known as trimethylglycine, is an osmolyte your body uses to help cells regulate water balance under stress, alongside its role as a methyl donor in the same one-carbon metabolism pathway as choline.
A systematic review and meta-analysis of chronic betaine supplementation found support for its use as an ergogenic aid for exercise performance, one of the more consistent findings among osmolyte-based supplements.[9] A 14-week randomized trial in professional youth soccer players found betaine supplementation reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines during a competitive season.[10]
An investigation tracking a 14-day betaine loading protocol confirmed serum betaine rises with supplementation and clears over roughly a month-long washout, useful context for a compound many lifters take daily rather than cycling.[11]
At 2500mg, Jacked's dose lands in the range most commonly studied for exercise performance, typically 2500mg to 6000mg daily.
-
L-Tyrosine - 1000mg
L-Tyrosine is an amino acid your body uses to build the catecholamines dopamine and norepinephrine, neurotransmitters tied to focus and the stress response. We use it for the focus.
A systematic review of supplements for cognitive performance in healthy young adults and military personnel included tyrosine among the ingredients with some supporting evidence for use under acute physical or mental stress.[12] In a trial testing tyrosine ingestion during exercise in the heat, researchers found it supported aspects of cognitive and physical performance under that combined stressor, a plausible parallel to the physical and mental demands of a hard training session.[13]
The theory is that supplemental tyrosine helps offset the catecholamine depletion that can occur under sustained physical or cognitive strain, though individual response varies.
-
Taurine - 1000mg
Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid concentrated in skeletal muscle, the heart, and the central nervous system, where it helps regulate cell volume and calcium handling.
Since Jacked is a single-serving pre-workout rather than a multi-week loading protocol (although it certainly can and should be used over the course of time), the most relevant evidence is a meta-analytic review focused specifically on single-dose taurine and exercise performance, which found support for acute taurine supplementation improving performance outcomes, with effects that varied by dose and exercise type.[14]
A separate meta-analysis of taurine's cognitive effects described the research on mental performance is still up in the air despite taurine's antioxidant and neuroprotective properties.[15] At 1000mg, the dose sits on the lower end of what acute-performance research has tested, alongside caffeine and the rest of Jacked's energy stack.
-
Vitacholine® Choline L(+) Bitartrate - 500mg (200mg Choline, 37% DV)
Choline is an essential nutrient your body uses to build the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and the phospholipids that make up cell membranes. SuperHuman Jacked supplies it as Vitacholine®, a branded choline L(+) bitartrate from Balchem delivering 200mg of elemental choline.
In a placebo-controlled trial, choline supplementation improved visuomotor performance and pupil constriction, outcomes tied to cholinergic signaling, but note that a larger dose was used here.[16] Choline also feeds into the same one-carbon metabolism pathway as betaine, another ingredient in this formula, since the body can oxidize choline into betaine as part of normal metabolism.[17]
We love to pair choline and betaine together as seen here, and VitaCholine is the easiest and best way to simply get more choline substrate into the system compared to other lower-yield choline sources.
-
SuperHuman Energy® (Caffeine Anhydrous, zümXR® Extended and Delayed Release Caffeine) - 242mg Total Caffeine
SuperHuman Energy® layers three caffeine sources for a total yield of 242mg per scoop:
- 150mg of immediate-release caffeine anhydrous, plus
- zümXR® extended-release (75mg, yielding 54mg of caffeine) and
- zümXR® delayed-release (50mg, yielding 38mg of caffeine)
These forms are designed to stagger absorption rather than deliver everything at once. Caffeine's ergogenic effects are among the best-established in sports nutrition.
The International Society of Sports Nutrition's position stand concludes caffeine acutely enhances exercise performance in most, though not all, studies, with small to moderate benefits typical.[18] That said, the literature on strength and power specifically has been called equivocal by researchers conducting a dedicated meta-analysis.[19]
The rationale behind staggering release, rather than dosing all 242mg as caffeine anhydrous, is tied to how individually variable caffeine metabolism is. Clearance rates differ significantly from person to person based on genetics and habitual intake, which is part of why a single anhydrous dose can peak sharply and fade unevenly.[20] It's worth noting that zümXR's own release kinetics haven't been published as independent human pharmacokinetic data, so the smoother-curve pitch is a formula-design rationale rather than a demonstrated outcome specific to this blend.
No doubt, though, you feel that DR hit at the end, and it's wonderful to keep it coming. Unless you're going to bed... so don't take this one too late.

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum TENSIA™ (DSM 21380) - 20mg
Now here's the first-time ingredient for sports nutrition purposes:
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum TENSIA™ is a probiotic strain isolated from a healthy child in Estonia and developed by BioCC OÜ in collaboration with the University of Tartu, deposited in the international microbial collection under the identifier DSM 21380. It's an unusual inclusion in a pre-workout, and the rationale is cardiovascular rather than digestive: TENSIA's developer describes the strain as producing vasodilating peptides and nitric oxide as part of its metabolic activity, framed around supporting healthy blood pressure rather than gut health alone.
The human evidence is interesting, but of course note that it's not in a workout context. A three-week trial found TENSIA lowered systolic and diastolic blood pressure when consumed daily in cheese or yogurt, regardless of the food matrix.[21] A separate pilot trial in obese, hypertensive patients on a hypocaloric diet found TENSIA colonization was associated with reductions in diastolic blood pressure, comparable to similar blood pressure reductions occurring in both the probiotic and control groups among patients already on blood pressure medication.[22]
On safety, a dedicated evaluation across in vitro, animal, and human testing found the strain susceptible to antibiotics, free of harmful biogenic amine production, and generally well tolerated, though a very high daily dose in one trial arm was associated with harder stools.[23]
This is exciting, and you can check out our podcast with Joey Savage on the PricePlow Podcast (Episode 233) as we dig into this deeper. Note that in the episode, Joey also discusses the dosing, since "20mg" is different from the standard CFU (colony forming units) we see with probiotic ingredients.
-
Black Pepper Extract (95% Piperine) - 10mg
Black Pepper Extract, standardized to 95% piperine, is included at a small 10mg dose for its long-established role as an absorption enhancer rather than as an active ingredient in its own right. Piperine has also been studied for effects on metabolism during exercise.
In mice, acute piperine treatment before treadmill exercise altered markers of carbohydrate and fat metabolism in skeletal muscle.[24] At 10mg, well below the doses used in metabolic research, its practical role in SuperHuman Jacked is supporting the uptake of the formula's other ingredients rather than contributing an independent effect.
-
Niacin - 18mg NE
Niacin (vitamin B3) is a water-soluble vitamin your body converts into NAD+ and NADH, coenzymes central to nearly every energy-producing reaction in the cell. At 18mg NE, SuperHuman Jacked's dose sits just above the RDA for adult men, which should be below the range associated with the classic "niacin flush". This is a baseline B-vitamin inclusion rather than a therapeutic dose, rounding out the formula's energy-metabolism cofactors alongside B6 and B12.
-
Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate) - 50mg
Vitamin B6 here comes as pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P5P), the already-active coenzyme form your liver would otherwise have to convert other B6 vitamers into. P5P supports amino acid metabolism, a relevant role in a formula built around tyrosine, taurine, and two protein hydrolysates.
At 50mg, the dose is well above the RDA and sits within the commonly cited adult upper limit for supplemental B6, but it's worth knowing that sustained high-dose B6 intake, especially across multiple servings or products in the same day, has been linked to sensory nerve symptoms in case reports.[25] Sticking to one serving per day keeps total B6 intake clear of that territory, but it's worth knowing about.
-
Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin) - 500mcg
Vitamin B12 shows up as methylcobalamin, one of the coenzyme-active forms of the vitamin and a popular choice in pre-workouts, especially since there's no cyanide molecule inside like there is with the inferior cyanocobalamin. At 500mcg, or over 20,000% of the daily value, the dose is far beyond what correcting a typical deficiency requires, so we're chasing a bit of extra energy production and methylation support here.
-
Sodium (from Pink Himalayan Sea Salt) - 150mg
Sodium is the primary electrolyte lost in sweat, and athletes can lose substantial amounts of it during training. A study measuring sweat losses in professional football players found sodium losses varied widely by position and body size, showing that fixed daily sodium targets don't account for how much heavy training sweat can pull from the body.[26] At 150mg from pink Himalayan sea salt, the dose is modest relative to some sweat losses but contributes to the formula's electrolyte profile without pushing total sodium intake into excessive territory.
Flavors Available
SuperHuman Jacked currently comes in two flavors, Slaughtermelon (a watermelon lemonade) and Mango Veiniac (a mango strawberry sherbet), both sweetened with a sucralose and acesulfame potassium blend rather than sugar.
Here's an up-to-date list of all flavors of Alpha Lion SuperHuman Jacked:
Who It's For
- Lifters chasing size: Jacked's peptide pair, full-dose L-Citrulline, and B-vitamin support target readers whose main goal is packing on muscle, with the caffeine stack there to fuel harder training sessions.
- Lifters in a cut: The same PeptiStrong and PeptiPump dosing is aimed at helping preserve muscle while eating in a deficit, a use case Alpha Lion calls out directly in its own marketing for Jacked.
- Anyone who wants to try TENSIA: The novel probiotic's first landing in a pre-workout supplement (or in sports nutrition in general), it's worth seeing how far the pumps go with this one!
Conclusion: A Peptide-Forward Take on the SuperHuman Formula

Alpha Lion rebuilt the entire SuperHuman pre-workout lineup and everything went red. New SUPERHUMAN ENERGY® system, retooled caffeine ratios, a clean 21 servings on every label, and no artificial colors. Five formulas, five different switches.
What separates SuperHuman Jacked from a typical pump-and-energy pre-workout is the peptide pair sitting alongside its citrulline and caffeine. PeptiStrong carries awesome human evidence at the dose used here, showing improved strength recovery and reduced myostatin. PeptiPump is the wildcard of the formula, an unproven bet on a mechanism its own developer hasn't yet published independent research to confirm. TENSIA is the other outlier worth knowing about going in: genuinely interesting probiotic research, with a dosing format that we're hping works out well in a pre-workout scoop.
And of course there's the stuff that's been established for years (or even decades). A full 6000mg of citrulline, 2500mg of betaine, and a three-stage 242mg caffeine system are all dosed in line with what the research actually used, and the label backs up Alpha Lion's transparency promise with nothing hidden in a proprietary blend.
The reintroduced SuperHuman lineup is definitely worth checking into. If you're looking to turn on the muscle switch, this is the one to get. Check PricePlow for current pricing and availability on SuperHuman Jacked, and sign up for Alpha Lion price alerts to catch the next drop in this series.
