5% Nutrition Stage Ready Diuretic: Lose Water Weight But Keep Electrolytes

Excess water weight can be extremely annoying for some, and for others it can be the difference between winning and losing. The late Rich Piana won Mr. California in 1998, and that win came as a result of years of relentless hardcore training coupled with a religious-like attention to nutrition. Prior to competition, even with all of his training and proper dietary habits, Rich still understood that excess water could derail his chance of winning or placing.

To ensure that he could shed excess water, Rich used a powerful combination of diuretic ingredients that included dandelion root, shavegrass, and uva ursi extract. Only then would he ripped and ready for the stage — or stage ready.

Six capsules! 5% Nutrition Stage Ready Ingredients adds electrolytes, which take up a lot of capsule space but are well worth it

Dandelion extract, also known as “Taraxacum officinale”, increases urination frequency. Dandelion, with its long history in Asia, Europe, and the Americas , is not a typical diuretic. It contains vitamins, minerals, and potassium, one of the important electrolyte minerals.[1]

  • Shave Grass Powder – 550 milligrams

Shave grass powder, also known as horsetail, has several uses uses but for centuries, people have been using it for its diuretic properties.[2]

  • Uva Ursi Extract – 450 milligrams

Also known as bearberry, Uva Ursi is the low growing evergreen shrub that has many benefits, but it’s mainly recognized as a diuretic for its ability to flush fluids from the body.[3]

  • Juniper Berry Extract – 200 milligrams

Juniper Berry, which originates from the evergreen tree, has traditionally been used as a spice. It know in the supplement world for providing digestive support.[4]

  • Buchu Extract – 150 milligrams

    5 Percent Whatever it Takes

This is a powerful diuretic supplement that actually adds back electrolytes and includes thermogenic heat!

Buchu comes from South Africa. It acts as a diuretic, supports digestion and, like Uva Ursi, helps detoxify the body.

  • Cranberry Powder – 125 milligrams

Cranberry, another product derived from the North American evergreen shrub, provides several benefits but is believed to be a potent diuretic.[5]

  • Green Coffee Bean – 100 milligrams

Green coffee beans are unroasted coffee beans, which means the active ingredient, chlorogenic acid, remains intact. Research shows that chlorogenic acid helps reduce carbohydrate absorption. Studies in animals suggest it improves adiponectin functioning, which is a primary fat-burning hormone in the body.[6,7]

  • Sweat It Out Complex

Now here’s an incredible addition to a diuretic supplement – two thermogenic ingredients shown to heat you up, increase energy expenditure, and burn more fat!

    • Cayenne Pepper Fruit Extract – 50 milligrams

Cayenne Pepper Extract contains the active ingredient capsicum, which stimulates and increases core body temperature (a process known as thermogenesis).[8,9]

    • Paradoxine Grains of Paradise Extract – 30 milligrams

Energy expenditure change (ΔEE) after oral ingestion of Grains of Paradise.[10] This spice helps melt away those stubborn pounds!

Grains of paradise is an herb that originates in West Africa and is often used as a cooking spice. It contains an active phenol compound known as 6-paradol, a high quality, stim-free, herbal fat loss ingredient that stimulates thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue (BAT). Per 5% Nutrition’s site, it supports mood elevation on top of its weight loss effects as it helps convert stored fat (as WAT, or white adipose tissue) to the thermogenic BAT, which burns more energy.[10,11]

We’re big proponents of grains of paradise as a stimulant-free thermogenic fat burning agent, and you can read more in our article titled Grains of Paradise: Fat Fighting Spice of the Goddesses.

  • Electrolyte Matrix

Stage Ready contains 1,382 milligrams of electrolytes, including calcium carbonate, potassium citrate, magnesium oxide, and coconut water concentrate. This formula helps your body replace the electrolytes lost after excess water is eliminated, since you will be urinating out far more than just water alone when using the diuretic.

For those who are willing to do whatever it takes.

While this matrix will take up two capsules in the six capsule serving, it’s a very unique and beneficial addition that we almost never see in diuretic supplements.

Get rid of the excess water…but stay hydrated

5% Nutrition’s Stage Ready is a powerful formula designed to rid the body of excess water, but includes electrolytes that ensure you’ll stay hydrated. Added electrolytes is not something you’ll find in most other diuretics, but it’s definitely not a surprise coming from the brand launched by Rich Piana.

This launch was hot off of the 5% Nutrition Core series, which, unlike other brands, included more than single ingredients, as evidenced by the 5% Nutrition Core Nootropic, which would feel great to stack in when dieting and add some extra choline support.

Next, we’ll be covering the new 5% Nutrition Shred Time Fat Burner, so stay tuned to our 5% Nutrition news below!
