Xtend Perform Ingredients

Scivation Xtend Perform Ingredients

The Scivation Xtend Perform Ingredients are focused on PeakO2, a blend of mushrooms led by cordyceps militaris!

You can see the ingredient label to the right. It’s a lot of the same that you’ve come to love in the original Xtend, only better!

Let’s start it up a bit out of order, with the new ingredient that you’re here to see – the mushroom blend from PeakO2:

  • PEAKO2 (2g)

Here’s the fun new ingredient included in Xtend Perform!

PEAKO2 is a patented and trademarked blend of Cordyceps militaris, an incredible type of mushroom that’s loaded with all kinds of bio-active goodies. Cordyceps militaris has previously been studied for its anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-aging, anti-fatigue, and pro-sexual benefits[5,6], but now new research has shown it can actually improve athletic performance as well!

On top of that, you also get Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), King Trumpet (Pleurotus eryngii), Shiitake (Lentinula edodes), Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus), and Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor).

The new cordyceps study (September 2015)

A new study conducted at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill investigated the effects of PEAKO2 on aerobic power, time to exhaustion, and lactate levels during high-intensity exercise.[7] For three weeks, subjects were either given 1.3 grams of mushroom blend or 1.3 grams of maltodextrin (the placebo) 3 times per day, yielding 4 grams total each day.

    Scivation Xtend Perform Ingredients

Xtend Perform still contains everything you love about the original Xtend, but also adds a special mushroom blend that shows great performance enhancing capabilities.

After 3 weeks, the PEAKO2 group showed significant increases in VO2 Max, time to exhaustion, and peak power output over the placebo group which exhibited either little or no increases in performance parameters.

2 servings of Xtend Perform will give you the exact amount of PEAKO2 that the trial group used, perfect for a pre workout serving and Xtend Perform, and a post workout serving!

    More coming on cordyceps

We’ve always been interested in Cordyceps here. ONNIT has been pushing them forever, but much of it was based upon theoretical promises. However, there hasn’t been really serious human-based research — until recently. The UNC study was published in September 2015, and now we have something to really look forward to.

Also, everyone always talks about cordyceps sinensis, but we’re not so sure if that’s even a reliable ingredient – apparently it’s not easy to grow, and it’s not consistent.

But with cordyceps militaris, we now have legitimate research and it seems viable as a reproducible ingredient as well. This information is now covered in our new investigative post, Cordyceps Crackdown: A Hit-or-Miss MESS… Until Now!

  • BCAAs (7g)

    Scivation BCAAs

Just in case you were curious what exactly the BCAAs in Xtend look like, here you go!

No surprises here! Scivation wouldn’t dare change the golden ingredient to the BCAA product. There’s still the same great, research-backed 2:1:1 ratio, of branched-chain amino acids in Xtend Perform which means each serving will give you 3.5g of Leucine and 1.75g each of Isoleucine and Valine.

BCAAs are a special type of amino acid that directly stimulate muscle protein synthesis in the body upon ingestion.[1,2] That’s not all though.

BCAAs can also quicken recovery and delay the onset of muscle soreness, a.k.a. DOMS.[3,4] Basically, having a healthy serving of BCAAs before or during your workout not only helps you pack on muscle, but it also allows you to heal quicker so you can get back in the gym day after day.

  • L-Glutamine (2.5g)

    Scivation Xtend Perform Benefits

Xtend Perform supports muscle growth, recovery, VO2 Max, and peak power output!

Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acids that’s widely regarded for encouraging muscle protein synthesis and recovery.[8] Usually, the body can make plenty of glutamine to keep up with demand; however, during times of stress or intense physical exercise, the body simply can’t produce the required amount.

Including it in Xtend Perform ensures that your Glutamine stores are always topped off even during the most intense of workouts.

  • Citrulline Malate (1g)

Typically, Citrulline Malate is taken pre workout to help nitric oxide production and give some pretty strong pumps.[9] However, Citrulline Malate also improves endurance, athletic performance, and strength.[10,11] This is due to Citrulline Malate’s role in the Krebs cycle where it acts as an intracellular buffer helping remove ammonia and lactic acid from the body. All of this leads to greater endurance and stamina throughout your workouts.

  • Electrolyte Blend

    Scivation Recover

Xtend Perform not only covers you during your workout, but also speeds your recovery as well.

Last, but not least, we have our typical electrolyte blend found in all version of Xtend. If you’re truly exercising at your max, you’ll undoubtedly lose lots of electrolytes through sweat. Even a 2% loss in hydration levels can negatively impact your performance leading to severe cramping and impaired CNS function.[12] To ensure your muscle keep firing on all cylinders, Xtend Perform includes the electrolyte trifecta of Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate, Potassium Chloride, and Sodium Chloride.

These are three of the most critical electrolyte that not only help maintain adequate fluid levels in the body, but also ensure proper nerve and muscle function during intense bouts of exercise.[13]

Flavors Available

One thing you’ve come to know and love about Xtend is that no matter what flavor you get, they all taste great! We’d expect nothing less with Xtend Perform either.

Once this becomes available in stores, you’ll be able to choose from one of three flavors: Black Cherry, Fruit Punch, and Mango (a PricePlow favorite!)

Takeaway

Xtend Perform contains everything you’ve come to know and love about the original version, and somehow improved it! You’ll not only recovery quicker and build more muscle, but you’ll also perform better during the course of your workout – especially if you’re a sports or endurance athlete.

We’ve got our eye on this one bigtime. Could it possibly enter the realm of our favorite next-generation natural muscle building supplements that goes beyond creatine and betaine and the like?

The new version is now out, so if you’re looking to gain an extra edge in your workouts make sure to grab a tub of Xtend Perform to let the mighty mushroom power you to gains!
