RecoverMode Ingredients

Each serving of RecoverMode weighs in at a beefy 21g containing 10 different ingredients all well dosed and with a fully transparent label to boot! RecoverMode not only packs ingredients to help boost recovery, but also support lean muscle growth.

  • 2:1:1 BCAA Matrix (5g)

    EVL RecoverMode Ingredients

Each serving of RecoverMode weighs in at a hefty 21g and contains everything you need to avoid DOMS and feel better in the hours after a tough workout.

RecoverMode starts out just like a proper post workout / recovery supplements, with a solid dose of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs.) Each serving of RecoverMode contains 2.5g Leucine, and 1.25g each of Isoleucine and Valine.

BCAAs, primarily due to Leucine, stimulate the mTOR pathway in the body[1], keeping you in a very anabolic state, which allows more muscle to be building during the most crucial of times (post workout).

Furthermore, BCAA supplementation also hastens recovery and offsets the dreaded DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).[2,3,4]

You can read more on our betaine article, but one thing to note is that the clinical dose is 2.5g, so you might want to find a bit more in your pre workout or elsewhere to hit the “proven” gains number.

  • Creatine Matrix (3g)

RecoverMode contains not one but two forms of creatine in their Creatine Matrix, comprised of 2.25g of Creatine Monohydrate and 750mg of Creatine HCl for a grand total of 3g creatine.

There’s no more proven supplement in the industry that creatine when it comes to improving lean muscle mass, strength, power, and performance.[5,6,7,8] Most research indicates that you need between 3 to 5g of creatine to really reap its benefits, and RecoverMode fits the bill with its matrix.

  • L-Glutamine (3g)

Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid that also is the most abundant amino acid in the body. Usually, the body has ample amounts of glutamine for its necessary functions; however, during intense exercise (like resistance training), glutamine stores become depleted — essentially making essential rather than conditionally essential.

Adding in some extra glutamine is some “extra insurance” to help replenish depleted glycogen stores which may enhance recovery and avoid premature fatigue.[9]

  • CarnoSyn Beta Alanine (1.6g)

    Beta Alanine Boosts Exercise Performance

Beta Alanine Boosts Exercise Performance, plain and simple.

Beta alanine is another proven muscle-building supplement that’s best known for its tingle inducing and endurance-boosting effects. Beta Alanine raises muscle concentrations of the powerful intracellular buffer carnosine which helps reduce lactic acid accumulation.[10]

Beta alanine has been shown time and again to be incredibly effective for improving not only endurance, but also strength, performance, and fatigue resistance.[11]

EVL has included 1.6g of beta alanine, which provides the other half of the daily prescribed 3.2g — the first half comes via EVL’s energy-boosting pre workout ENGN. Divided doses of beta alanine have been shown to be optimal for nutrient absorption as well as avoiding the dreaded tingles.[12]

  • Betaine Anhydrous (1.5g)

We’re not quite done with the ergogenics yet, as EVL has also included the popular strength-booster Betaine anhydrous. Also known as trimethylglycine, betaine has some solid research backing its efficacy at enhancing strength, power, and endurance, as well as reducing soreness.[13,14,15]

  • L-Carnitine L-Tartrate (1g)

    L-Carnitine L-Tartrate

LCLT is the form of L-Carnitine that you want if you’re into building muscle

Back to the recovery side of things, L-Carnitine L-Tartrate (LCLT) is one of the really underrated recovery supplements on the market. Not only does LCLT dramatically reduce DOMS, but it also increases the density of androgen receptors in skeletal muscle tissue.[16,17] Basically, LCLT helps your anabolic hormones (i.e. testosterone) operate more efficiently in the body, enabling you to get more done during training sessions, leading to greater gains.

Other research in LCLT notes improved body composition (greater lean body mass), but that study was done on the elderly, so the results quite equivalent to younger lifters.[18]

  • Taurine (1g)

Taurine is one of the most abundant amino acids predominantly stored in the brain, heart, and muscles. It’s mainly known for its role as a cell volumizer where it helps improve hydration[19], but, since a good portion is stored in the brain, taurine also improves mental focus.[20] More importantly though, it works with BCAAs (described above) to reduce muscle soreness.[21]

  • Calci-K (1g)

    EVL RecoverMode Available

EVL RecoverMode is available now in two tasty flavors to help you eliminate soreness forever.

During intense training, lots of electrolytes are lost through sweating. RecoverMode packs in a full gram of Calci-K (Calcium Potassium Phosphate Citrate) plus sodium and to help your body hydrate and recover from intense exercise.

  • BioPerine

Last, we have the gold standard when it comes to nutrient absorption boosters in the industry, BioPerine. This patented black pepper extract inhibits certain enzymes in the body that would otherwise prematurely degrade the ingredients contained in RecoverMode before they could fully do their job at improving recovery and boosting strength.

Flavors Available

RecoverMode has just landed in stores and is available in two flavors: Furious Grape and Blue Raz.

Takeaway

EVL has crafted a mighty fine recovery supplement here, and it looks like the price is going to be right – something we’ve had challenges with in past post workout products.

RecoverMode is one of the best all around products the company has made and might be a sign the brand is headed towards making more beefed up products compared to some of their other “lighter” offerings of the past. We like the new trend EVL is going with their recent releases, and need to keep an eye on these guys going forward.
