Alpha Lion Gains Candy CaloriBurn: Supercharge Your Caloric Expenditure

Alpha Lion Shaker Bottle

2020 is gearing up to be Alpha Lion’s biggest year yet!

Alpha Lion has been on fire lately – they’ve set the standard for fat loss products by releasing a comprehensive fat burner and pre workout, SuperHuman Burn. In addition to that, Alpha Lion expanded their Gains Candy Series with MitoBurn, GlucoVantage, and now, CaloriBurn GP. All of these ingredients are under the trademark of NNB Nutrition, a leader in sports supplement research and development.

Although there’s a handful of products on the market that already contain these innovative ingredients, Alpha Lion is the first to offer them as a standalone product. They understand just how powerful each ingredient is on their own, which is why Alpha Lion is giving you a chance to try them in isolation or easily add them into your pre-existing supplement stack!

We already covered Gains Candy MitoBurn and Gains Candy GlucoVantage on the blog, which you can read more about by going to these two articles: Alpha Lion Gains Candy GlucoVantage Optimizes Nutrient Partitioning and Gains and Alpha Lion’s Gains Candy MitoBurn Ignites the Metabolic Fire Within.

Now it’s time to see what Gains Candy CaloriBurn is all about!

CaloriBurn Grains of Paradise by NNB Nutrition: The Next Gen Calorie Burner

If you’re familiar with fat burners, chances are that you’ve come across an ingredient called grains of paradise (GP). This is what gives some powdered fat burners a little spicy aftertaste, but also makes them a lot more effective.

Alpha Lion Gains Candy CaloriBurn

Increase your energy expenditure with Gains Candy CaloriBurn from Alpha Lion!

GP is an incredible ingredient for losing weight, maximizing caloric expenditure, boosting metabolism, and increasing thermogenesis.[1] As a member of the ginger family, GP is spice first used to add some flavor to foods (it’s a great black pepper alternative), but science shows how well it can be used in dietary supplements.

After researchers discovered that proper grains of paradise extracts, at a sufficient enough dosage, could be utilized to increase fat loss, it quickly gained popularity. Unfortunately, not all extracts are created equal and just because it says grains of paradise on the label, doesn’t really mean much. If there’s not a trademarked and tested form of GP in your fat burner, then you may not get very good results because it’s low quality.

This is one of the many reasons why Alpha Lion decided to partner up with NNB Nutrition, because CaloriBurn is tested and verified to be the highest quality extract of GP available, with lab tests showing it has the four major constituents we look for in grains of paradise. Get ready to experience the power of a patented form of GP with Gains Candy CaloriBurn! You’re going to want to get your hands on this fast, so make sure to sign up for Alpha Lion news and deal alerts!

Gains Candy CaloriBurn Ingredient Analysis

Grains of Paradise has been on PricePlow’s radar since 2016 — you can even check out our original write up by going to this article: Grains of Paradise: Fat Fighting Spice of the Goddesses.

CaloriBurn

No more untrustworthy grains of paradise extracts needed – we now have CaloriBurn by NNB Nutrition!

After digging through the research, we realized that GP is incredible for weight loss, however there are very few 100% pure, unadulterated extracts on the market. Fortunately, NNB Nutrition came out with CaloriBurn, which is what we consider as the most trusted raw ingredient form of GP.

As we mentioned before, there are a few supplements that have CaloriBurn included in their formula, but Alpha Lion is the first company to offer it as a single ingredient product.

Each bottle of Gains Candy CaloriBurn contains 60 capsules, with a recommended serving size of 1-2 capsules per day, you’re getting anywhere from a 30-60 day supply! You can stack Gains Candy CaloriBurn with other Alpha Lion products, which we will cover later on. But this ingredient is quite powerful on its own.

We’re keeping things fairly brief for this article, but if you want to learn more read our in-depth blog post: CaloriBurn: NNB Takes Grains of Paradise to Hot New Heights!

Without further ado, here’s what one capsule of Gains Candy CaloriBurn delivers:

  • CaloriBurn Grains of Paradise Seed Extract (6-Paradol 12.5%) – 40mg

As mentioned above, CaloriBurn is a potent extract of a spice closely related to ginger known as grains of paradise.[1,2] GP is native to West Africa and commonly used in cooking, throughout the scientific literature, you’ll also see it called aframomum melegueta.[1,2]

Alpha Lion Gains Candy CaloriBurn Ingredients

CaloriBurn from NNB Nutrition is the most potent form of GP on the market!

Over the past few years, GP has made its way into several fat burning products, including pills and powders. It’s powerful fat burning properties are heavily attributed to bioactive constituents, such as 6-paradol, 6-gingerol, 6-shogaol, and 6-gingerdione.[1]

The most notable compound that seems to provide the most interesting weight loss benefits is 6-paradol.[1-3] To replicate the studies at large, CaloriBurn has the entire spectrum of bioactive constituents, but as you can see from the label, it’s standardized to contain 12.5% 6-paradol.[2,3] This may seem like a minor detail, but it’s one of the main things that sets CaloriBurn apart from other extracts of GP, which get the 6-paradol right but often miss on everything else.

Not all GP extracts are equal!

By using very advanced processing techniques, including both high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and high performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC),[3,4] NNB Nutrition is able to extract the most pure and potent form of GP that we know of. They even have third party tests to prove it, which you can see on our CaloriBurn mega post linked above.[3]

    CaloriBurn

NNB Nutrition’s CaloriBurn has 12.5% 6-Paradol, but uses pure grains of paradise to keep all of the active constituents

Over the years, we’ve learned that some other ingredients claiming to be “grains of paradise” are simply raw ginger extracts with 6-paradol added to them.[3] Not only does that make them less effective, but it’s also not compliant with labeling rules. This is why PricePlow is always an advocate for patented and third party tested ingredients, so you know what on the label is actually in the bottle.

The science behind grains of paradise

It turns out that the same components that give GP it’s spicy flavor are also the ones that provide the most profound health benefits! Research has shown that both the individual constituents, 6-paradol, 6-gingerol, and 6-shogaol, are able to decrease blood sugar levels, inflammation, and may offer neuroprotective effects.[5-9] However when you combine all three components, then the fat burning effects begin to really ramp up, as in the case with a pure GP extract.

One of the most unique benefits of GP supplementation is its ability to turn white adipose tissue (WAT) into brown adipose tissue (BAT).[1] There are very few ingredients that can do this, and it’s a great way to increase metabolism, energy expenditure, lose fat, and keep it off for good.

WAT is known as your fat storage — it contains very minimal amounts of mitochondria and is poorly vascularized. Because of these physical traits, WAT is very conducive to fat storage and has low metabolic activity.

Whereas BAT is primarily used for thermogenesis, therefore it has large amounts of mitochondria and is highly vascularized. BAT is considered to be metabolically active adipose tissue, thus having greater amounts of it is ideal for optimal health, metabolism, and body composition.

    Animal Research

Preliminary research has shown that supplementation of GP extract is able to activate BAT within mice, resulting in increased body temperature.[10] Due to this effect, the body would likely respond by upregulating energy expenditure to burn body fat and bring the temperature back down to baseline.[11]

We know what you’re thinking, that’s great for mice, but what about humans?

    Human Clinical Trials

In another study from 2013, researchers recruited 19 young adult males to further assess GP’s effects on energy expenditure.[1] They found that the participants who received a single 40mg dose of GP had significantly higher levels of energy expenditure compared to the control group.[1]

You can also find CaloriBurn in SuperHuman Burn!

The researchers reported that the GP raised energy expenditure by 5% in just two hours,[1] which made them want to further investigate its effects over a longer period of time.

Thus, in 2014 the same research group recruited 19 young adult females to participate in a 30-day single-blind, placebo-controlled study.[12] After evenly dividing up the participants, one group was instructed to take 30mg of GP per day, while the other group was given a placebo.[12] The primary outcome measures were visceral body fat and energy expenditure.

At the end of the trial, the GP group again saw a significant increase in energy expenditure and reduction in visceral body fat.[12] They also reported that the grains of paradise group burned on average 100 more calories than the placebo.[12] However, it is important to note that the researchers did not see any significant difference in subcutaneous fat or overall body fat between the GP group and the placebo, so it may take time and more intense workouts – something Alpha Lion can help you with too!

    Visceral vs Subcutaneous Fat

There are two primary types of body fat – visceral, which surrounds your organs, and subcutaneous, which lies just underneath the skin. High levels of visceral fat tend to be linked to more health issues, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, because it’s close to the vital organs.[13]

    Alpha Lion Gains Candy GlucoVantage

Looking for a extremely power glucose disposal agent, check out Gains Candy GlucoVantage!

Thus, it’s great to see that grains of paradise reduced fat in that area, but in regards to not affecting subcutaneous fat in any way, this finding just further reinforces the fact that fat burning ingredients only work if you do. Sure GP can help facilitate weight loss, however you won’t see any significant changes in body composition if you don’t follow a consistent diet and exercise regimen.

In summary, grains of paradise has a good amount of research suggesting that it can be a useful supplement for amplifying fat burning, in the context of a consistent exercise routine and caloric deficit. If you want to give it a shot, then Gains Candy CaloriBurn is a phenomenal product to choose!

It contains the most potent extract of GP on the market and is dosed based on the research. Furthermore, Alpha Lion added one more ingredient that may amplify CaloriBurn’s effects!

  • BioPerine Black Pepper (piper nigrum) Extract – 5mg

Alpha Lion is a major proponent of BioPerine because they want you to get the most out of all their products. You’ll see it listed on nearly every one of Alpha Lion’s products due to its ability to boost uptake and bioavailability!

    Bioperine

Bioperine is the trusted, trademarked form of black pepper extract that promises 95% or greater piperine, the part of black pepper with all the activity!

BioPerine is a trademarked form of piper nigrum, more commonly known as black pepper extract, from another well-respected ingredient developer Sabinsa Corporation. Similar to CaloriBurn, it’s standardized to contain 95% piperine, the main bioactive constituent of black pepper.[14]

BioPerine has been shown to increase the absorption and bioavailability of a wide variety of nutrients and compounds, including CoQ10, vitamin C, selenium, and beta carotene.[14] More research is needed to fully understand BioPerine’s mechanism of action, but it’s postulated that piperine is capable of inhibiting a P-Glycoprotein (P-gp).[15]

P-gp is widely throughout the digestive tract and is known for modulating intestinal absorption.[15] Therefore, the inhibition of P-gp is advantageous for enhancing your ability to uptake various nutrients and compounds.

Black pepper as a bit of a weight loss aid too?

Furthermore, black pepper extract is capable of boosting thermogenesis, which also may be another reason why it increases absorption.[15] Piperine induces this effect by stimulating the release of catecholamine neurotransmitters for a brief period of time.

It’s also important to note that BioPerine is GRAS affirmed, meaning it’s generally regarded as safe.[16] BioPerine is becoming a very well known ingredient in the sports supplement industry and we always like to see it included for maximal benefits!

Alpha Lion Fat Loss Stack

You can also stack Gains Candy MitoBurn for a full WAT-to-BAT stack!

If you’re really crazy, you could stack Gains Candy CaloriBurn with SuperHuman Supreme pre workout, but that’s only for advanced users!

What if I already have SuperHuman Burn?

It’s important to mention that you don’t need to stack Gains Candy CaloriBurn with SuperHuman Burn, because it already has a full dose of CaloriBurn included in it’s epic formula. If you end up buying both products, we would recommend taking SuperHuman Burn on training days and Gains Candy CaloriBurn on non-training days to keep your metabolism fired up!
