BigHoop’s Nitramine Review

“…That’s what I get for thinking.”

Stack3d first put me up to Nitramine’s existence. At first, I didn’t think much of Myokem and their flagship pre-workout at all. I just thought it was another name and yada yada trying to break into the industry… all the while filing into the clustered pre-workout crowd that looks a lot like DMV. You look around and have no idea who is there to do what, but a few different groups are ultimately there in their respective lines to get certain things done.

Do they achieve that goal? Sure. Then everybody walks out, job’s done and no positive feelings about going back. How many pre-workouts can you still get the positive effects from long after your workout? I don’t just mean recovery. I don’t just mean feeling fried and spent from stimulants.

There’s a lot of pre-workouts out there that will give you a little of everything, a lot of something easy to give, or promises of things you honestly just don’t get. Nothing new right? It took me a matter of weeks before I could wrap my head around everything Nitramine threw at me. Most of your typical pre-workouts take me a combined week or so of varied experiences to assess it all.

Now back to Brandon’s review:

As of writing this review, I’m on to another pre-workout review. I say that to say that I’m genuinely missing Nitramine. All I can do is hope that my review can break down why Nitramine has become my favorite pre-workout.

Myokem Nitramine

#1 New Pre Workout Supplement of 2014? We think so.

Ingredients: 9/10

I’m glad that Betaine is really getting out there as an overall workout and anabolic primer. So it’s great to see a hefty 2g dose of it in Nitramine. Rounding out a prep for epic output is 1g of LCLT (L-Carnitine L-Tartrate), 1.6g Beta Alanine and 500mg of Agmatine Sulfate.

In terms of muscular endurance, performance and anabolism, you could throw a stim dosage right under that and call it a workout. But that’s only half of what makes Nitramine so great and a less significant fraction of what makes it so unique.

What really goes to town on your body is the undernamed “High Energy Matrix”. After going through a container, I feel like just calling the last 482mg a “High Energy Matrix” is the understatement of the year.

I had to really dig into the High Energy Matrix ingredients, after the fact, to see what benefits they brought to the table here. Over and over again with each ingredient I would read different combinations of CNS stimulation, enhanced brain function, fat burning properties, enhanced cardiac and/or lung function. Unless you’re more of a lab rat who can identify these ingredients at first glance, this part of the profile is very unassuming (until you take that first serving).

Effectiveness: 10/10

I had some idea of what to expect from the upper part of that label, but I like to keep my head clear of expectations when assessing anything, ESPECIALLY pre-workouts. Just like the label instructed, it took 30 minutes to kick in. As it kicks in your core will warmup. This actually caused me to break a sweat much quicker during my warmup routine. Moving past my warmup and getting into the meat of the workout, the true beauty of Nitramine is what shows up; the focus.

If you take nothing else out of this and any other review, it is that the focus is downright unheard of.

But not just focus that comes with some mood enhancers… the kind of focus that puts you in a top notch state of control. You may find yourself with an extra set of mind/muscle connections. Another way I have phrased it as being extremely ‘dialed in’ or ‘in sync’ with your body.

Myokem Nitramine Label

The Nitramine label… razor-sharp mental focus… that’s putting itlightly!

Most pre-workouts will leave you more hopped up on stim than much else in this regard. However, don’t think that Nitramine will take over and drive you through your activity. A nifty feature is that it gets you so into focus, you are in full control of how high a level you want to go. If you don’t want to kick it into top gear, Nitramine won’t go up there unless you choose to do it yourself.

Myokem wouldn’t have wanted the fat burning and muscle sparing properties to be forgotten here either. For hours beyond your workout, you may notice that your core will continue to stay warm and work with thermogenic effects. Also something I have dreaded post workout is feeling like I had my muscles and nerves fried from the stimulation. I don’t feel any of that post-workout with Nitramine. I leave with the feeling that I worked hard and am allowed to instantly feel hard work; instead of like I am already wasting muscle.

I don’t believe that it makes sense to take the maximum two servings for any reason at all. The only increases came from the caffeine and the thermogenic effects lasting for up to several hours post-workout. The increase in stimulation from two scoops really takes away from the subtle beauty that Nitramine provides.

Translation: This really is a one-serving product, even for stim-junkies. If you absolutely require 300mg of caffeine, you’re going to be surprised when you try two scoops – it’s stronger than any other 300mg serving you’ll have ever had, and is quite frankly too much. So start light.

Nitramine is also ideal for all types of intense physical activity. I personally like a pre-workout that allows me to roll over from the weight room to basketball or agility/plyometrics. This quality is similar to a pre-workout like Cardio Igniter from Top Secret Nutrition.

Taste: 6/10 (with dissensions from Mike and CJ)

Dragon Fruit Variations

Giving it a basically neutral taste rating isn’t a bad thing at all for this one. That’s because it doesn’t taste bad. I’ve had some pre-workouts that I can’t drink while operating machinery because the stuff will kick you in the throat.

Myokem uses a Dragon Fruit flavor. It’s like a subtle citrus flavor, not much power to it. How good or bad you may believe the flavor is, the after taste isn’t bad at all. The after taste is what really boosts this flavor from being something less than 5.

Put simply, this flavor is forgettable. Given the ingredient profile and their potency, the flavor could easily be bad. So the fact that you can down it and forget this flavor is good.

Note from Mike: WTF Brandon!!! In our opinions, this is new and unique, sweet but light and refreshing. You’re right, it leaves no aftertaste behind. I would drink this all day if it wasn’t full of stims. It also waters down well. For me, it’s an 8.5 bumped up to 9 for uniqueness/creativity.

Mixability: 7/10

Perfect mixability doesn’t mean to me that something mixes entirely clear, no color. Perfect mixability is when there is no leftover residue or grains. It means that you will drink it all up when you knock it back one time.

Nitramine does mix pretty well. However there will be some noticeable leftover residue. If you’re the type that has to have it ALL and none left to chance, drop a few more ounces into your shaker afterwards to get that leftover.

Note from Mike: Maybe we got a newer production run — it’s probably an 8 for us. Not much settling at all for us. Definitely not anything worth worrying about.

I didn’t think much of Myokem’s flagship product at first thought. But I took a chance, gave it full due and I’m never looking back… That’s what I get for thinking.

Mike’s conclusion: Same exact thing. At less than 500mg for the entire energy complex, I thought it was going to be underdosed. How WRONG we were. This is easily our #1 new pre workout in 2014, and the unique formula is a game-changer on all fronts.

Thanks for the great review, Brandon!
