While the brand has killed that 120mg DMAA pre workout, they have come out with two other pre workouts since that time bringing the Vein Nutrition pre workout arsenal to 4 different options depending on your wants and stim needs.
But which one is for you?
That’s what we discuss today. We’ve gotten a lot of questions ever since we first reviewed Vein’s products and we’re here to help you sort out which Vein Nutrition pre workout is for you!

Vein Nutrition Pre Workouts
Preceding a workout, you shouldn’t be sorting through endless options of pre workouts, You need to be getting focused on having the best workout possible. The last thing you need is to complicate the situation by reading a truckload of ingredient labels to see which one “fits” for your training scenario. That’s where this down and dirty “blue collar” guide comes in. There’s no sciency stuff here, just the straight talk you need to decide which Vein pre workout is for you.
Stim vs. Non-Stim: Starting with Stimulant-Free
The first question you need to figure out is if you want stimulants or not.
If you don’t, that makes things incredibly simple, as Vein offers a single standalone stimulant-free pre workout in:
Like all solid stim-free pre workouts on the market, TruPump contains several of the most effective nitric oxide boosting ingredients around. Each serving of TruPump contains 3g of pure L-Citrulline, 1g HydroMax, 250mg L-Norvaline, and 250mg Sodium Nitrate along with a few other choice ingredients to increase blood flow, engorge your veins and promote some of the best pumps you’ve ever experienced.

Stimulant-based Pre Workouts
On to the stimulant side – which one is for you?
Rupture – The DMAA option with pumps
Rupture is the perfect blend of energy, power, and pumps. It packs a robust 75mg DMAA alongside 200mg caffeine to provide a rapid increase in drive, aggression, and energy. You’ll also get 5g of 2:1 citrulline malate, a blend of arginine and arginine AKG, and 500mg Agmatine for some sizeable muscle-swelling pumps.
If you’re a newbie to DMAA, you’ll certainly want to start with ⅓-½ scoop just to get used to the power of DMAA. Rupture is the most balanced of the Vein Nutrition pre workouts, and perfect for those days when you’ve got a heavy lift, but just not feeling motivated to kill your workout.
Aorta – Caffeine-Free, DMHA Option (Combine with Coffee or Energy Drinks!)
Aorta is the endurance / pump pre workout of Vein Nutrition’s line up. It provides a solid combination of pumps, stamina, focus, and euphoria for your workout. Aorta is caffeine-free, but NOT stimulant free due to it 150mg 2-amino-6-methylheptane (DMHA), 100mg N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate, and 2mg Yohimbine HCL per serving.
Aorta works well as a low-to-moderate stim pre workout, or as an energy-boosting intra workout for those times when you’re training or competing for multiple hours and need a little extra “something” to get you over the hump and finish strong.
This could also be taken alongside something like a cup of coffee, half an energy drink, or a caffeine tablet. Sometimes you enjoy your caffeine, but want a bit more. The key is to not overlap any of the above three ingredients, so keep this away from other products containing DMAA/DMHA, PEA, or yohimbe!!
For instance, you probably shouldn’t mix it with a fat burner unless you really knew what you were doing — you definitely don’t want this to overlap with the other stims. As an example, if you already have a fat burner with yohimbe, the added yohimbine here may put you over the edge!
TruStim – The Focus Option without pump boosters
TruStim is the successor to the original high energy and focus pre workout from Vein Nutrition, Bloodshot. TruStim is pure energy and focus. Each tub packs an impressive 60 servings formulated specifically to heighten focus, increase alertness, and boost energy. While you might be tempted to think this is some crazy 400-500mg caffeine pre workout stim bomb, that’s not quite true.
TruStim provides controlled energy by way of using only 150mg caffeine anhydrous along with 200mg L-Theanine. But, where this product really stands out are the bonus stims and nootropics included in it including 150mg 2-amino-5-methylheptane (the other form of “DMHA”), 100mg N-phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate, 30mg Hordenine, 30mg Noopept and a whopping 2g dose of L-Tyrosine.
TruStim is great for those that want nothing but energy and focus during their workouts or for those struggling at the office to get anything done and need a strong boost in concentration and attentiveness.
This could be the go-to for those who don’t like pumps on leg days, but want to get motivated and focused.
