Performax Labs GlycerMax Gives You a Solo Shot of GlycerPump

A serious number of pre workout supplements have switched over to using GlycerPump as their preferred form of glycerol, but there’s only one way to truly test it out: try it alone!

Performax Labs GlycerMax

Want to try GlycerPump solo, or need to add some to your non-glycerol pre workout? Then it’s time for GlycerMax!

Yet that was never an option, since the burgeoning ingredient had not yet been sold solo… until now!

Performax Labs has announced the launch of GlycerMax, which is a 100% GlycerPump based “add-on” supplement that provides one thing and one thing only: pure GlycerPump powder!

GlycerMax is the second Performax Labs supplement to utilize the powerful form of glycerol, the first being their stimulant-free pre workout supplement, VasoMax. And while VasoMax is indeed a potent pump supplement, not everyone needs all of the nitrates, focus ingredients, and other add-ons inside.

Sometimes, your pre workout is 90% there, you just need some of the extra water-based “cell hydration” style pumps, and that’s where GlycerMax comes in.

GlycerMax Ingredients

This one’s simple: 45 servings of 2000mg GlycerPump (65% Glycerol Powder):

Performax Labs GlycerMax Ingredients

Only one ingredient in GlycerMax: Pure GlycerPump powder, providing 65% glycerol!

So the bigger question is,

What is GlycerPump?

GlycerPump™ is the latest and greatest form of stable glycerol powder, yielding 65% glycerol content. It’s made by Australian ingredient manufacturer, Pinnacle Ingredients.

GlycerPump Logo

GlycerPump is made by Pinnacle Ingredients.

The glycerol carrier here is silicon dioxide, but the reason it’s truly unique is in the method of the spray-drying they’ve figured out to keep it more stable.

Stability?

Anyone whose taken pre workout supplements over the past 5 years knows that other glycerol ingredients clump like crazy! This was especially the case with glycerol monostearate, but other forms of glycerol as well.

While GlycerPump definitely “packs” tightly, it’s showing to clump far less than the competition – giving pre workout formulators the chance to add a serious dose of the ingredient without making a tub that’s going to be ruined in a few months’ time.

Why would I want glycerol anyway?

Glycerol is a naturally-occurring trihydroxy sugar alcohol (ie it contains three hydroxyl groups) and is an intermediate in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.[1]

It accumulates in skeletal body fluids (not the eyes and brain), and increases the total volume of water in the body. It does contain some caloric energy, but not so much that it makes a difference to anyone who’s training with relatively small doses of 1-3g worth.[1]

Performax Labs VasoMax

The upgraded VasoMax has 3g GlycerPump – usally no need to add anymore to it here, so GlycerMax makes a lower-cost, more customizable alternative!

When glycerol is taken orally, it gets distributed between fluid compartments before being metabolized. When taken with plenty of water, osmotic pressure increases to the point that your body retains more fluid! This creates a state of “hyperhydration”, which is of great benefit to hard-training athletes, particularly endurance athletes.[2,3,4]

GlycerMax Dosage

The standard GlycerPump dose is from 1-3g (the aforementioned VasoMax uses 3g!), and GlycerMax splits that right down the middle at 2g, which is a great starting point.

Since the material typically packs very well, it’s tough to size out a scoop properly, so we recommend using a quality food scale that goes to the tenth of a gram if you’re serious about getting the dose right. But since there’s no stimulants here, it’s not as critical as when you use something like Performax Labs StimMax, where you really want to get the dose perfect due to its 400mg caffeine per scoop.

An interesting use case: with sleep aid supplements!

So we all get the hyperhydration scenario discussed above, which is great to get that “swole” style “water pump”.

But consider another time you want to store fluids: at night!

Performax Labs

See all of Performax Labs‘ well-formulated products. This is a brand with brains, and that’s why we love them.

Many of us take sleep aids or recovery aminos before bed. The issue is that they often force us to wake up and use the restroom once, since they’re taken with water.

One idea we’ve seen is to add glycerol (preferably in the form of GlycerPump-based GlycerMax here) to your nighttime sleep and recovery supplement to try to get your body to retain its water longer before it reaches your bladder. This could help delay the time-to-bathroom, giving you more sleep!

So while this product is primarily marketed for workout conditions, it can also be considered for sleep strategy as well.
