Impact Whey Protein Cereal Flavors: Relive Your Childhood

Myprotein Impact Whey

One of Myprotein’s best sellers.

Over the past few months, we’ve covered several protein powders and high-protein snacks from Myprotein, including:

We have yet to write about Myprotein’s best-selling protein powder, Impact Whey Protein. Now that the company is releasing two exclusive cereal-inspired flavors — Fruity Cereal and Marshmallow Cereal — it’s the perfect time to review the product in-depth here on the PricePlow Blog.

Impact Whey Protein is one of the first supplements that Myprotein released. Thanks to the wide selection of flavors, affordable price, and quality, the product has dominated in sales. Myprotein was originally based in the UK, but ever since they landed in the States, the company has taken off.

Myprotein Releases Two Cereal-Inspired Flavors in the U.S.

Myprotein WPI Cereal Milk

Impact Whey Protein is now available in Fruity Cereal and Marshmallow Cereal.

Shortly after entering the U.S. market, Myprotein launched several American-themed flavors for Impact Whey Protein, such as S’mores, Glazed Donut, Snickerdoodle, and Key Lime Pie. The company is further expanding the line with Marshmallow Cereal, which is supposed to taste like Lucky Charms, and Fruity Cereal, which is supposed to taste like Fruit Loops.

Unlike some other cereal-flavored protein powders on the market, Impact Whey Protein doesn’t have inclusions, such as marshmallows or cereal pieces.

Instead, they’re keeping the ingredient list as short as possible and only using high-quality protein, sweeteners, and natural or artificial flavors. So expect the Marshmallow Cereal and Fruity Cereal Impact Whey Protein to have more of a creamy consistency rather than an actual crunchy cereal texture.

  • Calories: 100

    • Sugar: 1g

  • Fat: 1g

Keep in mind that macronutrients and calories may vary slightly depending on the flavor.

Impact Whey Protein Ingredients

Since Impact Whey Protein is a protein powder, we’re going to divide this review into two sections: primary protein source and ingredients that help create flavors and improve mixability.

Here’s a list of the main ingredients Myprotein uses to formulate Impact Whey Protein:

  • Protein Source: Whey Protein Concentrate

The only protein source that Myprotein uses for Impact Whey Protein is whey protein concentrate. It’s one of the most popular protein sources in the sports nutrition industry because it’s naturally rich in branched-chain amino acids, essential amino acids, and glutamine. These amino acids are essential for muscle growth, recovery, and repair. Whey protein is ideal for activating muscle protein synthesis post-workout because it digests and absorbs rapidly.

Two primary forms of whey protein are whey protein isolate (WPI) and whey protein concentrate (WPC). Here’s the difference. Whey protein isolate is at least 90% protein by weight because it goes through additional processing to filter out nearly all carbohydrates and fats.

Whey protein concentrate, on the other hand, can be anywhere from 34% to 80% protein by weight. So it contains a bit more naturally occurring carbohydrates and fats. Many people prefer the taste of a concentrate because its few extra grams of fat and carbohydrates really enhances the flavor and consistency.

Myprotein specifies on their website that Impact Whey Protein uses a whey protein concentrate that’s 80% protein. That’s the purest form of WPC on the market. Therefore, out of the 25 gram serving size, you’re still getting nearly 20 grams of protein, but minimal fat, sugar, and carbs.

Although Impact Whey Protein contains a small amount of lactose, if you’re lactose sensitive, we recommend checking out a pure whey protein isolate.

  • Other Ingredients

This list may vary depending on the flavor. Here’s an overview of the other ingredients in Impact Whey Protein:

    • Sunflower or soy lecithin – improves mixability

    • Natural and artificial flavors – adds flavor

    • Sucralose – sweetener

    • Acesulfame Potassium – sweetener

    • Gum Arabic – thickening agent
