Universal Storm Review – Blue Razz

Universal Storm is a zero-calorie, zero-carb, volumizing creatine formula made by the studs over at Universal Nutrition.

Right off the bat, I’m going to tell you that I absolutely love this stuff. I don’t eat refined sugar. This effectively eliminates almost all of those “cell-volumizing” creatine products because they’re essentially sugar, processed carbs, and creatine. But the clean diet doesn’t keep you from the Storm.

How Does Universal Storm (Blue Razz) Taste?

Universal Storm Review 2I was stoked to get the blue razz flavor. The flavor is as strong as the color. If you like that “fake” blue raspberry flavoring (like in those blow pop suckers), you’re going to love blue razz Storm. This stuff has just enough tartness and pop to keep you coming back every day, but enough that you’re satisfied by the end of the drink.

I must admit that I like taking this before my workout much more than after workout. Post-workout, I’m thirsty for water, not blue razz flavoring. But it works great – I just need to chase it with another few chugs of water.

What is in Universal Storm?

Universal Storm Review 4First and foremost, Universal Storm has a mix of four creatines. This is a good idea because not everyone responds to all forms of creatine. 5g of creatine is the typical amount beginners do, but if you follow the instructions, you’ll get 10g a day (5g before workout, 5g after workout). Nothing wrong with that — larger, more experienced bodybuilders and athletes do more than that.

Beyond the creatine ingredients, Universal Storm also has some great ingredients that help keep you focused, pump you up, and reduce fatigue. Of these are citrulline malatebeta alanine, and AAKG (but there are more). Each of these supplements are awesome to take before workout. Again, note that there are no calories, carbs, or sugars (you can add your own if you want).

Does Universal Storm Work?

Universal Storm Review 3If you respond to creatine, which you most likely do, then yes, it does work. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough beta alanine to give me the beta alanine tingles, but I did feel the pump from the AAKG. If you add a caffeine pill to this product, you actually get quite a nice pre-workout drink (I did this a few times and enjoyed it).

How does Universal Storm Mix?

As you can see in the second picture, Universal Storm’s powder is quite granular. It smells like a pixy stick. However, look at the 4th, 5th, and 6th Storm pictures – this stuff mixes better than pretty much any supplement I’ve used. No foam, no flavor crystals floating around, and no sediment going to the bottom! Great job Universal.

Here are some additional pictures of Universal Storm as I finished it off – great mix til the end, and no deposits along the shaker walls:

How does Universal Storm Blue Razz Rate?

If you haven’t guessed yet, Universal Storm is a 5/5 for me. Great taste, great ingredients for people on paleo diets / keto diets / low-carb diets, and pretty good value.

Flavor: 5/5 Effectiveness: 5/5 (creatine WORKS and if you’re not taking it then you should start) Value: 4/5 (you can get bulk creatine cheaper, but this has other good stuff in it too)

Overall: 5/5
