Transparent Labs BCAA Glutamine Natural Aminos!

Transparent Labs BCAA+Glutamine

CoreSeries BCAA+Glutamine from Transparent Labs is a naturally sweetened BCAA supplement that helps improve recovery and hydration.

If you’ve been following PricePlow for any length of time, it comes as no surprise to you that we’re HUGE fans of open labels and transparency. As such, Transparent Labs has become one of our favorite supplement companies as of late for their commitment to not only transparency, but also naturally sweetened products.

Their low-stim, all-inclusive pre workout PreSeries Bulk is a lower caffeine option that landed in our Best Pre Workouts guide. But what about intra or post workout needs?

Team Transparent has you covered there as well with the CoreSeries BCAA Glutamine. This is the third naturally-sweetened BCAA supplement that we’ll cover on this blog, after Scivation Xtend Free and Get Diesel’s Dieselade.

The honest truth is that BCAAs are very difficult to mask without a ton of sucralose, so there’s a challenge in creating these products. However, stevia refinement is getting to the point where these products have become good enough for the anti-sucralose, anti-artificial crowd out there… although they are not totally ready for the standard mainstream customer who wants it to taste perfectly sweet like Kool-Aid.

If you fit the all-natural demographic, want BCAAs, and are willing to sacrifice a bit on flavor in order to avoid fake colors, sweeteners, and flavors, then this product might be for you.

CoreSeries BCAA Glutamine Ingredients

CoreSeries BCAA Glutamine is all about helping you recover and replenish those crucial nutrients lost during your workout. However, there is one major question about this product that we have below, and it makes us wonder

  • BCAAs 2:1:1 (8g)

    Transparent Labs BCAA+Glutamine Ingredients

BCAA+Glutamine contains a whopping 8g dose of BCAAs plus an additional 5g of Glutamine to enhance the recovery process. Missing from this label is the amount of potassium from the coconut water powder, which we now know is 65mg.

Branched-Chain amino acids are the three essential amino acids used by the body to drive muscle protein synthesis.[1,2] However, during intense exercise, muscle tissue is broken down (a catabolic process), and if this happens too frequently, you start to lose all of your gains.

If you’re not consuming BCAAs pre workout, it’s crucial to consume them during and after to preserve the lean muscle mass you’ve strived so hard to build. Thankfully, BCAAs do a great job of also staving off catabolism.[3]

Lastly, if you’re really pushing hard in the weight room, you’re going to feel sore, especially after a brutal leg day. BCAA supplementation helps there as well as research has shown that not only does it help you recover faster, but also prevents DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).[4,5]

8g is a lot here. Oftentimes, consumers are used to 5g, but as we know, Transparent Labs brings on big, heavy doses of stuff. No complaints there.

The issue is that BCAAs are also the tougher part to flavor, so they’ve got their work cut out for them. One idea is to also add a large dose of glutamine, whose flavor is a bit easier to mask.

  • L-Glutamine (5g)

Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid that also happens to be the most abundant amino acid in the body. You may be wondering why you would need to supplement with it, if it is already so plentiful.

Well, during high intensity exercise, glutamine stores can be depleted, this shifts glutamine from conditionally essential to essential if your goal is to avoid premature fatigue and enhance recovery.[6]

  • Coconut Water Powder (1g)

    Transparent Labs PreSeries Bulk Sitting

You don’t get well shaped glutes by sitting all day, get your rear end in the gym and SQUAT!

Anytime you workout, you’re losing valuable electrolytes (and water) through copious amounts of sweat. Replenishing these depleted stores during / after your workout crucial to avoid things like dehydration and muscle cramping.

Coconut water is naturally rich in potassium, and even contains a smidge of carbs in its raw form. We’ve seen an uptick in the inclusion of coconut water powder in sports supplements lately — this is most likely due to its ability to improve hydration levels and restore electrolyte balance,[10] but it could also be due to trendiness.

The question we would like to know is, just how much coconut water powder is needed to mimic the hydrating effects of pure coconut water?

Label Question Answered: How many electrolytes?

One issue we have with the label at hand is that it does not list any electrolyte content. We reached out to Transparent Labs to see how much potassium is coming from this coconut water powder.

The answer is 65mg potassium — this is not added, but from the coconut water powder itself.

In the name of Transparency, we hope TL will update this label with the next production run.

Flavors Available

Again, BCAAs are tough to naturally flavor, so Transparent Labs doesn’t offer the plethora of flavoring options for the BCAA product like most other companies do. CoreSeries BCAA Glutamine first launched in Blue Raspberry and Green Apple flavor, with more out later.

Mike has tried Green Apple, and it’s comparable with Scivation Xtend Free’s green apple flavor. You can’t go wrong with either one if you’re ready to get off the Sucralose train!

    Takeaway

    Transparent Labs

DISCLAIMER: In the name of transparency, PricePlow receives sales commissions from Transparent Labs. However, we negotiated our commission DOWN so that it’s the same commission we get from other stores, and put that extra percentage into a bigger coupon! This is why we have the best Transparent Labs coupons on the entire web!!

Often times, we’re so focused on our pre workout meals or pre workout drink that we neglect to consider post workout supplementation. Transparent Labs CoreSeries BCAA Glutamine takes care of all the thinking so you just have to grab a scoop, shake, and drink.

The simple combination of these three ingredients will not only preserve muscle mass, but also help quicken recovery and restore proper hydration.

But most importantly for this product, it’s another sucralose-free option, and this time, it’s free of sugar alcohols too. The taste won’t be a 10/10, but if you can deal with something in the 6.5 range in order to avoid the artificial stuff, then this one might be for you.

Make sure to use our coupon when purchasing to get the biggest savings on all Transparent Labs products!
