Ghost X Maxx Chewning 2022: Limited Edition Energy, Legend, and Pump

Note: The 2023 Maxx Chewning Collabs are out, and this year, they’re doing a GHOST x Sour Strips collab, and Strawbango Margarita Ghost Energy has been separately re-launched for a limited time!

Ghost Lifestyle and Maxx Chewning are back for their annual collaborative romp – and this year’s more serious than ever – with trademarks involved!

Ghost Strawbango Margarita Maxx Chewning

Ghost and Maxx Chewning are back together, and for 2022, they have a trademarked STRAWBANGO MARGARITA flavor for Ghost Energy Drink, Legend, and Pump!

PricePlow broke the news in mid-August,[1] catching that Ghost LLC had a new trademark in STRAWBANGO — and not just one for dietary supplements, but also one for beverages and energy drinks![2,3] With a name like Strawbango, and summer just around the corner, that could only mean one thing:

The next Maxx Chewning Collab: Strawbango Margarita Ghost Energy, Legend, and Pump!

That’s right – Maxx is getting another classic (non-alcoholic) margarita flavor system in not just one or two supplements like years past, but three:

We break it down below, but first let’s see our flavor review and check availability – the flavors will be highlighted in yellow if they’re available on the web:

What is Strawbango Margarita?

Ghost Legend Strawbango Margarita

If you haven’t figured it out yet, this is a Strawberry Mango Margarita flavor profile!

Before Maxx went on an alcohol hiatus (which we highly commend him for), he was known for drinking flavorful margaritas. So in his past collaborations with Ghost, he had margarita-inspired flavor releases. If you dig back, the first one they did together in 2018 was… strawberry mango margarita!

Now things have gotten a bit more serious, with a trademark involved and three products. Let’s get into each one, then recap these Maxx collabs:

  • Ghost Legend Maxx edition: Extra pumps added

As a powerlifter, Maxx loves himself some strength-inducing blood flow. This is why his version of the caffeinated Ghost Legend pre-workout supplement always gets an extra pump ingredient – and once again this year, it’s in the form of VasoDrive-AP.

Let’s show the formula then talk about this addition:

    Ghost Legend Strawbango Margarita Ingredients

The same Ghost Legend V2 formula, but with added VasoDrive-AP for even greater blood flow!

    • L-Citrulline – 4 g

    • Beta Alanine – 3.2 g

    • Nitrosigine® (inositol stabilized arginine-silicate) – 1.5 g

    • VasoDrive-AP (Hydrolyzed Casein Tri-Peptides) – 254 mg

    • L-Tyrosine – 1000 mg

    • Taurine – 1000 mg

    • Alpha-GPC (Alpha-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline 50%) – 300 mg

    • Natural Caffeine (from Coffee (Coffea spp.) Bean) – 250 mg

    • NeuroFactor Coffee (Coffee arabica) Fruit extract – 100 mg

    • Theobromine – 100 mg

    • AstraGin (Astragalus Membranaceus and Panax notoginseng) Root extracts – 50 mg

    Why add VasoDrive-AP?

    Coming up next…

VasoDrive-AP is a unique formulation of two milk-derived peptides (named IPP and VPP) that are extracted from casein protein. These compounds have been shown to inhibit angiotensin converting enzyme (“ACE” enzyme).[4,5] This is important because ACE causes vasoconstriction,[6] and we actually want the opposite, with vasodilation.

So when inhibiting ACE, you can reverse that vasoconstrictive effect a bit, and get better blood vessel dilation.[7] Over 30 studies have been published on the effects of these types of milk-derived peptides, and there’s a large meta-analysis covering them if you’re interested in understanding more.[4]

So if you love Ghost Legend, you’re a fan of Maxx, or you want some delicious strawberry mango flavoring – this is one for you!

  • Ghost Energy Strawbango Margarita

The big news here is that Maxx is getting a collaborative flavor of Ghost Energy, the epic energy drink that’s taken the market by storm thanks to its incredible flavors and well-disclosed formula. A huge part of this release is that Ghost is exclusively distributing it to The Vitamin Shoppe (in addition to the Ghost website), since The Vitamin Shoppe has refrigeration in every store!

    Ghost Energy Strawbango Margarita Ingredients

Each can of Ghost Energy has 200 milligrams of caffeine. First, the simple macros:

    • Calories: 5

    • Total Carbohydrate: 1g

      • Total Sugars: 0g

Now to the fun part – the active ingredients:

    • Carnipure L-Carnitine L-Tartrate – 1000 mg

    • Taurine – 1000 mg

    • Natural Caffeine (from Coffee Bean) – 200 mg

    • Alpha-GPC 50% – 150 mg

    • NeuroFactor Coffee Fruit Extract – 100 mg

    • AstraGin – 25 mg

This is well beyond your standard energy drink, which is a major reason why consumers keep coming back for more — it feels good, especially for those who may not be getting enough carnitine, taurine, or choline in their lives.

  • Ghost Pump

Ghost Legend has 250 milligrams of caffeine, Ghost Energy has 200, which means they’re not for everyone. Some people are caffeine-free or caffeine-sensitive, others train at night, and still others just want even more blood flow and pumps. In all three cases, the stimulant-free Ghost Pump is an excellent answer.

    Ghost Pump Strawbango Margarita

2021’s launch was the first time Maxx got a flavor for Ghost Pump, and we’re happy to see the trend continue. Here’s what you get in a two-scoop serving:

    • L-Citrulline (Vegan Fermented) – 6000 mg

    • Arginine Nitrate (NO3-T) – 3000 mg

    • Taurine – 2000 mg

    • PureWay-C (Ascorbic Acid and Citrus Bioflavonoids) – 390 mg (yielding 270 mg Vitamin C [300% DV])

    • Pine Bark extract (95% Proanthocyanidins) – 200 mg

    • Setria L-Glutathione – 200 mg

    • AstraGin – 50 mg

The formula (see Maxx’s Ghost Pump label here) is the same as the other Pump flavors — Maxx doesn’t need more pump than this!

A stroll down Maxx memory lane

Ghost Legend Maxx Chewning Mango Margarita 2021

The original flavor from 2018 was baaaaack in 2021, but now the mango margarita has merged with strawberry to form Strawbango Margarita in 2022!

Let’s recap what we’ve had so far from Maxx:

Every year, we look forward to these releases, and this year’s what we consider the best ever. 2022 is a bit simpler than 2021, with one flavor, but across three products. With Ghost Energy added to the mix, we’ll take that trade-off any day.
