MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447 Updates: Now at Walmart With More Creatine Monohydrate

MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447 Updates: Now at Walmart With More Creatine Monohydrate

MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447 made the jump to Walmart with 5g creatine monohydrate per 8g scoop and about 60 servings per tub. The peptide dose drops to 1g and L-theanine is gone.

MuscleTech's Creatine Peptide 447 launched into one of the best-timed windows in recent sports nutrition history, arriving right as creatine and peptides became two of the industry's biggest talking points at the same time. Since then, we've seen it sell through multiple times in our system. Now the brand is taking the brain- and muscle-focused product into Walmart and the wider food, drug, and mass (FDM) channel, and it's showing up there with a different formula ratio than the original.

We first covered Creatine Peptide 447 in our original launch article, where MuscleTech paired traditional creatine monohydrate with PepForm® Creatine Peptide technology and L-tyrosine for a peptide-forward spin on daily creatine. With a new version now on Walmart's shelves, it's a good time to revisit the science behind that formula. Additionally, we can dive deeper into the two original human studies behind the brand's headline claims.

The move fits a bigger pattern we're watching across the industry. Mass retailers like Walmart and The Vitamin Shoppe have been leaning further into legitimate dietary supplement peptides, and MuscleTech has been ahead of that curve since introducing dileucine with Muscle Peptide 185 and building out its full Peptide Series. We'll have more on that bigger story soon, especially with Iovate's newly appointed CEO Raza Bashir, who's joined our podcast multiple times, expected to lean further into the peptide category.

But today, let's rehash what we know about Creatine Peptide 447, and talk about what's different in the versions you'll find at major stores like Walmart. Before that, check PricePlow for current Creatine Peptide 447 pricing and availability, and sign up for MuscleTech alerts to stay on top of what's next:

What's Different About the Walmart Formula

MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447: Advanced Peptide Technology Meets Cognitive Enhancement

MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447 combines creatine with peptide technology, L-tyrosine, and L-theanine for muscle and cognitive support.

The Walmart/FDM version uses a different creatine-to-PepForm ratio than the specialty-channel product we covered previously. Each 8g scoop now provides:

  • Creatine monohydrate: 5g (up from 3g)
  • PepForm® Creatine Peptide: 1g (down from 3g)
  • L-tyrosine: 1g (unchanged)
  • L-theanine: none (the original formula included 200mg)

The container grew too. The original ships 30 servings at 7g per scoop, while the Walmart version ships in an 8g-scoop tub with about 60 servings. Net effect: more creatine monohydrate per serving, a smaller but still present dose of the peptide-delivery ingredient, and one less cognitive-support ingredient in the mix.

MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447 Ingredients

Each 8g scoop of the Walmart formula provides:

  • Creatine Monohydrate – 5g

Creatine monohydrate remains the backbone of the formula. In the body, it raises the muscle's phosphocreatine pool, the fuel reserve muscles draw on to rapidly regenerate ATP during short, intense efforts like a heavy set or a sprint. The Walmart version's 5g dose sits at the upper end of the 3g to 5g range most research uses for muscle saturation. PepForm® adds more on top of that (more on its creatine content below), bringing a single scoop close to 6g of total creatine, the same daily dose used in a 12-week trial on resistance training:

    • "78% More Muscle Size"

MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447: 78% More Muscle Size

That trial randomized 22 untrained men to a creatine group, a placebo group, or a non-training control group in a double-blind design, then tracked 12 weeks of structured resistance training (leg press, knee extension, and knee curl) in the two exercise groups.[1] Because the trial used creatine monohydrate on its own, the results speak directly to the ingredient in this formula's base dose, separate from whatever PepForm's peptide-bound creatine adds on top.

After 12 weeks, the creatine group gained significantly more fat-free mass than the placebo group (+7.12lbs vs. +1.30lbs), posted a 78% greater increase in thigh volume, and nearly doubled the placebo group's gain in relative leg-press strength.[1] Body fat percentage didn't change significantly in either group, so the added mass came from lean tissue rather than fat.

The researchers linked the strength and size gains to increased myosin heavy chain expression, the muscle protein most responsible for contractile force, which rose significantly more in the creatine group at both the messenger RNA and protein level. Serum creatinine climbed as expected with creatine intake, but it stayed within the normal clinical range throughout the study, worth noting given how often creatine gets flagged on routine kidney panels.

    • "4.2x More Strength"

MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447: 4.2x More Strength

MuscleTech's front-of-pack strength claim traces back to a second human study, a 10-week trial in Division IA collegiate football players comparing low-dose and high-dose creatine supplementation against a placebo group during a periodized, off-season resistance-training program. Researchers tested body weight, body composition (fat-free mass and fat mass), one-repetition-max squat, and anaerobic muscular endurance before training began, at the midpoint, and after the full 10 weeks.[2]

Neither the low-dose nor the high-dose creatine group differed from each other on these measures. The significant changes that did show up came from time, meaning the training itself, rather than from which group subjects were in. The authors concluded that periodized resistance training on its own was enough to drive the strength, body-composition, and endurance improvements seen over the 10 weeks. That's a more conservative takeaway than a straight creatine-versus-placebo comparison implies, and it's worth keeping in mind alongside the front-of-pack numbers.

    • Where the 447 Comes From: "4.47x More Lean Muscle"

That same 7.12lbs vs. 1.30lbs comparison from the Willoughby and Rosene study is also where the front-of-pack "4.47x more lean muscle" claim, and the product's name, come from.[1] As a straight ratio, 7.12lbs is about 5.5 times 1.30lbs. But subtract placebo's own gain first (7.12lbs minus 1.30lbs leaves 5.82lbs of extra lean mass), divide that by placebo's 1.30lbs, and the math lands on 4.47, the same number stamped across the tub as... Creatine Peptide 447.

  • PepForm® Creatine Peptide – 1g

    MuscleTech Creatine Peptide 447 Benefits

PepForm® Creatine Peptide is what gives Creatine Peptide 447 its name, a proprietary ingredient from Glanbia Nutritionals that binds creatine to peptides isolated from hydrolyzed whey protein isolate. The Walmart formula's 1g dose is lower than the original's 3g, though the ingredient's role hasn't changed. It's still built to move creatine and its peptide-bound amino acids across the gut using peptide-specific transporters, a separate route from the ones free amino acids compete for.

  • L-Tyrosine – 1g

L-tyrosine carries over unchanged at 1g per scoop. It's the raw material the body uses to build dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine, and MuscleTech has paired it with creatine since the original launch to round out the formula's cognitive side. The Walmart version drops L-theanine entirely, so tyrosine is now the formula's other cognitive-support ingredient to support creatine's cognitive gains, which are discussed in our original Creatine Peptide 447 article.

How to Use

  • When to take it: Mix one scoop daily, or two scoops for MuscleTech's stated best-results serving.
  • With or without food: Works in water, coffee, other hot beverages, sports drinks, or protein shakes.
  • Other notes: Maintain adequate hydration while using it, and stay within the label's suggested serving amounts.

Who It's For

  • Walmart and mass-retail shoppers: Creatine Peptide 447 was previously limited to MuscleTech's specialty-channel distribution. With the FDM version now on shelves, the same peptide-based creatine approach reaches a much wider everyday audience.

Conclusion: A Bigger Shelf for MuscleTech's Peptide Push

Raza Bashir Appointed CEO of Iovate Health Sciences, Parent Company of MuscleTech

It's official. Raza Bashir, the innovation mind behind EuphoriQ, the Peptide Series, and EFF'N Energy, is now CEO of Iovate Health Sciences, parent company of MuscleTech. A four-time PricePlow Podcast guest just took the top job. Congrats, Raza!

Creatine Peptide 447's move into Walmart isn't a simple repackage. The mass-retail version leans harder into creatine monohydrate and drops L-theanine, all while nearly doubling the servings per container. It's a different balance of the same two core ingredients rather than a stripped-down version of the original.

The fact that the new 5g creatine monohydrate dose lands close to the exact daily amount used in the 12-week study cited above is a good sign that MuscleTech built this ratio around real research rather than shelf-price math alone. But at this point, creatine's efficacy in these matters isn't really disputed. Get it in every day.

Now zoom out, and this expansion is one more data point in a trend we've been tracking. Mass retailers are getting more comfortable putting legitimate dietary supplement peptides in front of everyday shoppers, and MuscleTech has been at the front of that shift since launching its Peptide Series. With Raza Bashir now leading Iovate as CEO after previously joining us as a guest to talk quality control and innovation, we're expecting MuscleTech to keep pushing further into this space.
