Balance Ingredients

sho Balance is a unique blend of prebiotics, probiotics, and other assorted digestive aids to restore your gut’s equilibrium — leaving you feeling better than ever from the inside out.

But it’s not just the ingredients that are special – you also need to see the patent-pending delivery system and super small easy-to-swallow softgels described later!

Note: Dosages listed below are based on 1 serving (i.e. 2 Spheri-Gels)

  • Lactobacillus Casei K-1 (100mg)

    sho Nutrition Balance Ingredients

Balance includes a mix of prebiotics, probiotics, and healthy oils to improve digestion and regularity.

Starting off Balance’s tour de force of gut health ingredients is one of the superstars of the probiotic world, Lactobacillus Casei. Lactobacillus Casei is a transient bacteria naturally found in the human body, but also exists in cows and can be found in raw cow’s milk as well as colostrum.

Consumption of Lactobacillus Casei K-1 at 100mg (equivalent to 100million CFU) per day for 2 weeks has been proven in research to improve bowel movements for those who are constipated in terms of stool frequency, amount, and shape.[1] Additionally, L. Casei exerts an anti-mutagenic effect[2], meaning it combats cancer-causing substances that can come from eating charred meats — like BBQ.

  • Fructooligosaccharides (20mg)

Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are a type of oligosaccharides (sugar) naturally occurring in a variety of plants including onion, garlic, asparagus, banana, artichoke. FOS are calorie-free and are considered a form of soluble fiber. Most prominent of their numerous properties are their ability to foster growth of nonpathogenic intestinal microflora.[2]

Regular consumption of FOS has been clinically shown to increase fecal bolus and the frequency.[2] Furthermore, regular intake of FOS also reduces constipation, one of the biggest issues among modern diets.

  • Spirulina (20mg)

    sho Nutrition Balance Discpenser Cap

The unique twist dispenser cap makes it a breeze to remember which day it is and if you’ve taken your daily supplement or not.

Spirulina is a variety of blue-green microalgae with a long history of use as a component of many people’s diets. This algae offers a number of benefits, but most well known are its powerful antioxidant effects and bolstering of the immune system.[3,4]

Spirulina is one of the few “hippie-foods” that actually has some legitimate science backing it as a healthful ingredient. It contains a compound called C-Phycocyanin that pinpoints and inhibits NADPH oxidase. Inhibiting this enzyme does a number of impressive things including neurological and antioxidant protection, cognition enhancement, and neurogenesis![5,6,7,8]

  • Flaxseed Oil >45% ALA (100mg)

Flaxseeds, also known as linseeds, were one of the earliest foods cultivated by man and as such, have been consumed by man for thousands of years. The tiny brown or golden-colored seeds are one of the richest sources of a plant-based omega-3 fatty acids, called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).

Flaxseeds exhibit a laxative effect on the body helping, but interestingly enough, also shows antidiarrheal activity.[9] To top it off, people who consume diets rich in ALA also see improved cardiovascular health and reduced risks of CVD, stroke, and heart attacks.[10]

  • Olive Oil (38mg)

    sho Nutrition Dispenser

With a one-click dispenser, there’s never a need to fuss with difficult pop tops or twist tops like normal pill bottles.

Olive oil is the incredibly popular oil oil extracted from olives, the fatty fruit of the olive tree. The oil is rich monounsaturated oleic acid and is widely used in many cooking and eating applications.

Olive oil is rich in a number of polyphenolic compounds that can inhibit or kill bacteria that is extremely harmful to not only the gut, but the brain and immune system as well.[11] One of these dastardly bacteria is Helicobacter pylori, a bacteria that resides in the stomach and can lead to ulcers and stomach cancer. In vitro studies using olive oil have documented that olive oil is effective in combatting a whopping eight strains of bacteria, three of which are antibiotic-resistant.[12]

Dosing

For maximum effectiveness and supreme gut health, sho recommends consuming 2 Spheri-Gels daily for a minimum of 2 weeks.

The sho Nutrition Difference: Easy-to-Use Delivery System

sho Nutrition’s not just about quality ingredients – Joy has also developed a fantastic dispensing system that helps you keep track of your dose timing. Just switch the lever to today’s notch, squeeze the tab, and you’ll get one softgel!

Not only that, but these softgels are small and incredibly easy to swallow – no more choking on huge horse pills!

You can read more about both of these things on our main sho Nutrition introductory post. Joy has done a great job on this technology!
