Myprotein Clear Whey Isolate Explained

Myprotein Clear Whey Isolate Cran Apple

Myprotein has a new twist on protein powder.

Clear Whey Isolate is different than those “milkshake”-like protein powders. It’s lighter, fruitier, and more refreshing — especially if you use more water and plenty of ice. These proteins are a great cross of proteins and amino acid drinks. If you like thinner drinks and are tired of thicker chocolate and vanilla shakes, you’ll be more interested in this.

One difference is that it takes Clear Whey Isolate a bit more time to settle, as it foams more. Adding more water makes it go quicker, and you don’t have to let it settle before you start drinking it. However, when it settles, it becomes more translucent and less cloudy, indicative of its purity.

You can read our full ingredient analysis on our main Myprotein’s Clear Whey Isolate article, but below is a brief overview.

Myprotein Clear Whey Isolate Green Apple Nutrition Facts

Ultra clean whey protein isolate!

Each serving (25g scoop) delivers:

  • Calories: 80

  • Protein: 20g

  • Carbohydrates: ~1g

    • Sugars: 0g

  • Fat: 0g

These types of macros are only ever found in pure whey isolates – especially the “clear” ones that we started seeing on the market in late 2019. This enables you to run with a low-fat or low-carb diet and have little to no worries about breaking diet over something sweet.

Clear Whey Isolate Ingredients

Why are the macros so clean? It’s because Myprotein is using a hydrolyzed whey protein isolate protein source here!

Hydrolyzed whey isolate?

Hydrolyzed whey protein isolate is 90% protein by weight (or better), and has nearly no carbs, fat, sugar, or lactose. It brings a thin consistency used in these Clear Products.

A simple Ingredients area, not even any colors added!

Hydrolyzed proteins are partially enzyme digested, so it’s easier and faster for you to digest, since enzymes have already done much of the work. It still brings a complete amino acid profile (with all nine essential amino acids), especially leucine, the primary amino that kicks off muscle protein synthesis and mTOR signaling.

Interestingly, there is also Myprotein Clear Vegan Isolate from hydrolyzed pea protein!

Myprotein uses natural and artificial flavoring and a sweetener blend of sucralose and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K). The colors are either 100% natural or simply not present, which is the case with Green Apple!

Flavors available

The Myprotein Clear Whey Isolate flavor lineup keeps growing, and don’t be surprised if more come. Here’s an up-to-date list:

In terms of previous reviews, Blood Orange was actually more of a sweet orange than we expected, Wild Cherry and Peach Mango are two house favorites (especially Wild Cherry, if you’re a cherry fan), and in the Cran Apple and Strawberry due, Strawberry was the clear winner. This is on top of the primary lineup that had Dragonfruit (another favorite) and others listed above.
