Myprotein added Cran Apple and Strawberry to the Clear Whey Isolate family, and in our opinion, Strawberry ranks extremely high on the list. As you can see from the video, Mike loved this flavor, but cran apple wasn’t too far behind. It had more of an apple juice flavor, than cranberry, therefore Mike ranked it a bit lower. However, it was still great and if you’re looking for a strong apple juice flavor with a bit of cranberry thrown in, then that’s perfect!

Strawberry Takes The Crown!

Strawberry, on the other hand, was a homerun, and took the crown from DragonFruit as PricePlow’s favorite flavor! Therefore, after trying out the new flavors, Mike ranks strawberry number one, followed closely by tropical dragonfruit, cran apple, mojito, and finally, lemonade.

Clear Whey Isolate Strawberry and Cran Apple Ingredients

The name says it all, this protein features 100% whey protein isolate (WPI) to deliver 20g of protein per serving, and it has a very high protein-to-weight ratio! Although, it’s important to note that depending on where you’re from the protein source may say whey protein isolate or hydrolysate (WPH).

We’re not exactly sure why Myprotein has two different versions, but they’re both very high quality, so there’s nothing to worry about! WPI vs WPH

WPI is an incredibly fast digesting protein that’s extremely low in lactose and has a minimum 90% protein by weight. It’s great for post workout to kickstart muscle protein synthesis and recovery, since it contains a high amount of amino acids, specifically leucine! It undergoes specialized processing that filters out unwanted carbs, fats, lactose, and sugar, which leaves behind nearly pure protein!

WPH is whey protein isolate that’s been hydrolyzed, meaning it’s been further processed to break down the amino acids.This makes the protein even faster digesting and readily absorbed into the bloodstream. Essentially, the hydrolyzation process uses enzymes to break the bonds between the amino acids, resulting in a pre-digested protein source. Thus, it takes less work for the body to digest the protein! As we mentioned, both are high quality and great for post workout!

Other Ingredients: Bring on The Flavor!

Starting with an excellent protein source as a base is always important, but the raw powder won’t taste very good if nothing is added to it!

Each flavor has slight variations in added ingredients in order to create the taste they’re after. However, in general they all use natural and artificial flavors to deliver a rich taste. Modified food starch helps improve mixability and consistency. Citric Acid also helps add to the flavor. Lastly, they use sucralose and acesulfame K to add that sweetness! Some flavors also include natural coloring to get the full effect!

You may notice this protein is thinner than others because Myprotein is trying to achieve a more juice-like consistency. Also, there is a good amount of foam when you first shake up the protein powder, but after a few minutes it will settle.
