Myprotein Clear Whey Isolate Adds Strawberry and Cranberry Apple to the Menu!

MyProtein has dominated the supplement space in the UK, now their entering the US to expand their reach!

Myprotein has been dominating the supplement industry in the UK for several years. Now they are looking to take the U.S by storm by offering high quality products at extremely affordable prices! As you can tell from their name, the brand’s best selling supplements are protein powders. They have a wide range of extremely unique options and continue to add new protein-based products and flavors.

Clear Whey Isolate: Not Your Average Protein Powder

Myprotein has new twist on protein powder!

Myprotein is quite well known for their Impact Whey and Impact Whey Isolate, which comes in several standard flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Not only does it taste great, but Myprotein ensures product purity, safety, and quality, by putting the protein through rigorous testing by independent labs. The third party test results are even available online at Labdoor.

With all the success Myprotein has had with Impact Whey, they’re still looking to innovate and offer other options. Therefore, the team at Myprotein went to work to see what else they can do, then they shook up the protein market by creating Clear Whey Isolate!

This may not sound too different than other whey protein isolates on the market, after all it’s just whey protein, right? However, when you see how this new product mixes and what flavors are available, it’s obvious this is something completely different than the majority of other proteins on the market.

An Incredibly Clean Protein With Cool Refreshing Flavors!

MyProtein Clear Whey Strawberry

MyProtein Clear Whey Isolate Strawberry steals the show!

If you’re bored of the same old chocolate, vanilla, and milkshake consistency protein powders, then Clear Whey Isolate is perfect for you! This protein powder was formulated to taste more like a ‘juice’ than a typical ‘shake’. It’s refreshing, has an incredible macronutrient profile, and is made with one of the highest quality protein sources: whey protein isolate.

Myprotein originally launched Clear Whey in three flavors: Tropical Dragonfruit, Lemonade, and Mojito. At the time, dragonfruit definitely took the top spot, but now there are some new contenders on the block and they’re ready to bring the heat. But now they’re back with two more flavors to add to the Clear Whey Isolate line-up — Strawberry and Cranberry Apple — and one of them may very well be the best yet!

In this post we’re going to give you our thoughts on the new flavors, highlight some pros and cons to Clear Whey, and get you the best deal on this unique protein powder. Clear The Whey for Two New Flavors: Cran Apple and Strawberry!

Myprotein Clear Whey Isolate Cran Apple and Strawberry

Myprotein crushed these two new flavors!

We already covered all the details on Clear Whey Isolate in another post, so to get the full rundown on the protein powder, be sure to check that out! This article is mainly focused on the new flavors, and briefly discusses some key points of this protein.

Myprotein added Cran Apple and Strawberry to the Clear Whey Isolate family, and in our opinion, Strawberry ranks extremely high on the list. As you can see from the video, Mike loved this flavor, but cran apple wasn’t too far behind. It had more of an apple juice flavor, than cranberry, therefore Mike ranked it a bit lower. However, it was still great and if you’re looking for a strong apple juice flavor with a bit of cranberry thrown in, then that’s perfect!

Strawberry Takes The Crown!

Strawberry, on the other hand, was a homerun, and took the crown from DragonFruit as PricePlow’s favorite flavor! Therefore, after trying out the new flavors, Mike ranks strawberry number one, followed closely by tropical dragonfruit, cran apple, mojito, and finally, lemonade.

Myprotein has been nailing their flavors lately, so no matter which one you choose, you won’t be disappointed! I am sure if you tried all the flavors, your ranking may look a little different than ours, but if you’re a strawberry connoisseur, then we highly recommend trying that first!

Now let’s check out what other benefits Clear Whey Isolate provides besides being a tasty, refreshing, drink!

Clear Whey Isolate Strawberry and Cran Apple Macronutrient Profiles

Myprotein Strawberry Clear Whey Isolate Nutrition Facts

Clear Whey Isolate is nearly all protein!

Like most of Myprotein’s protein powders, Clear Whey Isolate’s macronutrients are excellent! Since they use a whey protein isolate, it’s practically all protein, which is exactly what you want!

Here’s what one serving of Clear Whey Isolate contains:

  • Calories: 90

  • Protein: 20g

  • Carbs: 2g

  • Sugars: 0g

  • Fat: 0g

Those macros seem too good to be true with how much flavor Clear Whey Delivers! PricePlow always enjoys a protein powder that’s clean, lean, and satisfies your sweet tooth!

Alright now let’s see what brings all the flavor without ramping up the calories.

Clear Whey Isolate Strawberry and Cran Apple Ingredients

The name says it all, this protein features 100% whey protein isolate (WPI) to deliver 20g of protein per serving, and it has a very high protein-to-weight ratio! Although, it’s important to note that depending on where you’re from the protein source may say whey protein isolate or hydrolysate (WPH).

We’re not exactly sure why Myprotein has two different versions, but they’re both very high quality, so there’s nothing to worry about! You may also notice the labels look a bit different between the European and United States versions, in summary it’s due to different labeling laws, however for more of an explanation, check out our original Clear Whey Isolate blog post!

Looking for a bit more protein and “fruitiness” to leverage in your macros? Then check out Myprotein’s Clear Whey Isolate!

WPI is an incredibly fast digesting protein that’s extremely low in lactose and has a minimum 90% protein by weight. It’s great for post workout to kickstart muscle protein synthesis and recovery, since it contains a high amount of amino acids, specifically leucine! It undergoes specialized processing that filters out unwanted carbs, fats, lactose, and sugar, which leaves behind nearly pure protein!

WPH is whey protein isolate that’s been hydrolyzed, meaning it’s been further processed to break down the amino acids. This makes the protein even faster digesting and readily absorbed into the bloodstream. Essentially, the hydrolyzation process uses enzymes to break the bonds between the amino acids, resulting in a pre-digested protein source. Thus, it takes less work for the body to digest the protein! As we mentioned, both are high quality and great for post workout!

Other Ingredients: Bring on The Flavor!

Starting with an excellent protein source as a base is always important, but the raw powder won’t taste very good if nothing is added to it!

Each flavor has slight variations in added ingredients in order to create the taste they’re after. However, in general they all use natural and artificial flavors to deliver a rich taste. Modified food starch helps improve mixability and consistency. Citric Acid also helps add to the flavor. Lastly, they use sucralose and acesulfame K to add that sweetness! Some flavors also include natural coloring to get the full effect!

You may notice this protein is thinner than others because Myprotein is trying to achieve a more juice-like consistency. Also, there is a good amount of foam when you first shake up the protein powder, but after a few minutes it will settle.

Tastes like apple juice with a kick of cranberry!

Every year, companies are trying to create new, and exciting products, however there’s really only so much you can do with protein powder. Sure you can experiment with unique flavors, add in digestive enzymes, or tweak the type of protein sources used to create a custom blend. But Myprotein wanted to do something completely different by taking an innovative spin on protein shakes. They knew protein connoisseurs we’re begging for a product to shake up the space, and needless to say, Myprotein achieved that with Clear Whey Isolate!

Clear Whey Isolate comes in several refreshing flavors, and is a protein powder unlike any other on the market! PricePlow is excited to see what else is in store for Myprotein, because now that they’ve come to the U.S, the possibilities are endless. Although they offer more products on the UK site, we expect them to expand the U.S line drastically in the future, and that’s definitely exciting!
