Given the company’s name, it’s no surprise that Myprotein has a lot of protein products, from powders to functional foods. Myprotein offers nearly everything, from whey protein to high-protein snacks, vegan protein powders and bars. We recently covered the new Myprotein Snack Series, which was a huge hit consisting of Crispy Wafers, a Nuts Bar, and Protein Chips.
Today, we’re back to tell readers about a new Myprotein’s Clear Whey Protein Isolate flavor. It’s a highly-refined powder that settles “translucently” and comes in lighter, fruity flavors.
Blood Orange Clear Whey Isolate is Here
The flavor launched in Fall 2020 is Blood Orange, which is a powerful citrus flavor for those who can’t get enough orange in his or her life. But watch Mike’s review below so you can hear his take!
Blood orange comes hot on the heels of wild cherry and peach mango, which launched after the cran apple and strawberry. So there are several fruity options to choose from.

Blood Orange Review: More like a creamsicle
I’m not the biggest citrus guy, so I assumed strawberry, dragonfruit, and wild cherry would stay on top of my list. That’s mostly true, but it turns out this particular. citrus flavor tastes smooth and not overbearing, which is what I expected from “blood orange.” But caveat that with the fact that I’ve since learned to use extra ice water, which I think makes clear proteins far better. At 10 to 12 ounces, it will taste more powerful, but personally, I like it smoother.
Long story short, this is the citrus flavor to get. Lemonade, which was part of the original releases (our video can be seen below) wasn’t bad. Blood orange just seems better put together! But if you still like “standard” fruity flavors, strawberry is likely to be your first option.
Myprotein Clear Whey Isolate Explained
Unlike milkshake-style protein powders, Clear Whey Protein Isolate is lighter, fruitier, and more refreshing – especially when you take Mike’s advice above and use even more water. If you’re tired of the same old chocolate and vanilla thick shakes, and actually like thinner amino acid supplements, this is a great go-between.
Note that these proteins foam a bit more and take more time to settle. But the added water helps with that, and it’s not completely necessary to allow it settle (unless you enjoy seeing it more translucent).
We’ve already written the full ingredient analysis for Myprotein’s Clear Whey Isolate, so here we keep it brief.
Each serving (1 scoop or 25g) of Myprotein Clear Whey Isolate delivers:

You generally only find these types of macros on pure whey protein isolates, especially the Clear ones that have joined the market in late 2019 and beyond. This leverages protein in your diet so you can add carbs or fats later on in your day as you choose.
Clear Whey Isolate Ingredients
The reason for the above profile is since Myprotein is using a purely hydrolyzed whey protein isolate as protein source here:
Hydrolyzed whey isolate
Hydrolyzed whey isolate is 90-percent-plus protein by weight, with nearly no carbohydrates, fats, sugars, or lactose. It also has that thin consistency Myprotein is known for with Clear Products. (FYI: They even have a Clear Vegan Isolate from hydrolyzed pea protein!)
Hydrolyzed means the protein is partially enzyme digested, making it easier and faster for you to digest since enzymes have already begun the process. It’s still complete with all nine essential amino acids, including leucine, the key amino that initiates muscle protein synthesis.
Myprotein uses both natural and artificial flavoring and sucralose and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K) as the sweeteners. The colors are 100% natural.
