We’ve countless proteins over the years here at PricePlow, yet somehow we’ve never mentioned one of the top isolate proteins products from ALLMAX Nutrition.
90% protein by weight!
In this era of relative unsurity in regards to amino spiking and artificially inflated proteins, there’s always a bit of trepidation when trying out a new protein powder. Rest assured though, today’s feature, ISOFlex, is nothing but 100% pure whey protein isolate after its latest reformulation. This yields 90% protein by weight after the flavoring and sweeteners are added – basically unbeatable!!
This is a pure whey protein isolate that seems even more refined than other pure isolates! This is valuable if you’re on a very strict diet, or are lactose intolerant.
As a bonus, it even comes with the patented “Scoop Lock” Technology that ALLMAX has incorporated into all of their protein powders so you no longer have to shake, dig, and dive into the tub of protein to find the scooper!

ISOFlex Ingredients
As you have probably surmised, ALLMAX ISOFlex is a pure isolate based protein powder that contains not one, not two, but three different variations of whey protein isolate. This results in a premium quality protein that is 90% protein, pretty damn impressive!
-
Hybrid-ratio Ion-Filtered Whey Protein Isolate
We already mentioned there are three different types of whey protein isolate in ISOFlex, but what exactly are the three types? Well, ISOFlex uses a proprietary combination of Cross-Flow, Ultra-Filtered Whey Protein Isolate, Ion Charged Particle-Filtered Whey Protein Isolate, and Alpha-Lactalbumin-Rich Whey Protein Isolate.
The difference between the three, as you may have guessed, has to deal with the whey isolate is actually filtered (purified) from its concentrate. At the end of the manufacturing process, you are left and an ultra-premium protein that contains over 90% protein and virtually zero carbs and fats[1], as all excellent isolates should be!
-
Protein Enzyme Blend
Isolates are pretty easy on the stomach to begin with, but ALLMAX goes one step further by including Protease and Bromelain in a unique protein enzyme complex to further improve digestion.
Bromelain, in case you’re unfamiliar with this particular enzyme, has been used extensively throughout the ages as as a digestive aid. While it’s thought of as a single enzyme, it’s actually a group of protein digesting enzymes found naturally within the pineapple plant.[2]
-
The rest
Rounding out the ingredients are the usual assortment of gums, natural and artificial flavors, salt, sunflower lecithin for thickness, and artificial sweeteners. In the case of ISOFlex, ALLMAX uses a combination of Ace-K and Sucralose to sweeten the powder, which seems to be the way to go to avoid a “chemical” type aftertaste.
However, we know that there isn’t too much here, because there simply isn’t much room – only 10% of the formula is going towards the enzymes, thickeners, and sweeteners. Given how great the two flavors that we’ve tried are tasting, this is beyond impressive.
Macros
As with all isolates, they are a lower-calorie option compared to blend proteins with a relatively high protein count. ISOFlex weighs in at a 30g scoop and contains some slight differences in the total calories and macros, depending on the flavor:
- Calories: 110 – 120
- Protein: 27g
- Carbs: 0 – 2g (0 – 1g sugar)
- Fats: 0 – 0.5g (0g saturated)
Flavors Available
Here’s where ISOFlex will really win over your taste buds, in the flavor department. ALLMAX has all the standard flavors you would expect, plus some rather intriguing flavors that separate ISOFlex from all the other “standard” isolates on the market. In total there are 10 flavors!
Do I need such a clean protein?
This protein is not for everyone. Pure isolates like this take extra refinement, so they cost more money to make. The best demographic are for those who are:
- into extremely clean diets,
- are lactose intolerant, or
- want as few fillers as possible.
If you fit that list, this could be worth it. If not, then you might do better to look at ALLMAX AllWhey Gold (Isolate-first, but contains concentrate — is good for lactose sensitive users), ALLMAX AllWhey Classic (concentrate first – cheaper but for those less sensitive to lactose), or ALLMAX HexaPro (least inexpensive one, six protein blend).
Takeaway
If you want it clean, you aren’t going to get much better than this. ALLMAX IsoFlex costs a pretty penny, but this isolate crushes the competition in terms of quality and taste. The value question is where the decision is to be made.
People are always looking to switch things up with the protein powders. Sure, you may have a winner on your hands at the moment, but everyone eventually comes to some sort of “palate fatigue” with the brand and flavor.
With ISOFlex and their myriad of flavors, you can easily rotate among all the different flavors and never need to look for another brand again. The high quality protein and low calorie impact make it an option that can easily become your “staple” everyday protein.
A while back, we removed IsoFlex from our best protein powder guide because it had added free form amino acids like taurine, glutamine, and arginine, which skewed the protein content number a bit. Once those older formula tubs are completely off the market, ISOFlex may get placed back on the list!
