Keeping up with CORE Nutritionals has been a tough assignment this year — Doug Miller and his team are keeping the releases coming, and they’re keeping them fresh.
Hot off a Vanilla Toffee Gaintime Core PRO flavor and a Velositol-infused Cinnamon French Toast Core POST flavor, we have yet another release, and this one is more unique that the previous two:
Core PRO Peanut Butter & Jelly — Strawberry PB&J
This week, CORE launched one of their most ambitious flavor systems yet — Core PRO Peanut Butter & Jelly! But we need to note, it’s Strawberry PB&J — not grape or any other flavor. And per our taste review, it’s just enough strawberry flavoring to be dangerous.
Below, we quickly discuss this unique flavor system, embed our flavor review, and show the specs on PB&J Core PRO. First, see our coupon-powered price listings below, and sign up for our Core Nutritionals news alerts:

Peanut Butter and Jelly Protein Powder?!
Again, the most important part here is that it’s strawberry PB&J Core PRO. It’s a perfect 50/50 split, with the strawberry jelly hitting first on the front-end. It’s sweet and delicious, but after the sweetness subsides, you get rocked by a powerful peanut butter flavor.
If you like strawberry peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and you like protein powder, then you’re going to like this one, no doubt. Let’s get to the macros:
The Core PRO Peanut Butter & Jelly Macros
-
Calories: 140
-
Protein: 25g
-
Carbohydrates: 2.5g
-
Total Sugars: 1.5g (0g added)
-
-
Total Fat: 2.5g

Compared to the Vanilla Toffee Gaintime flavor we recently covered, this is 10 calories heavier, with a half gram extra in both the carb and fat departments.
Learn about Core PRO
Core PRO is a sustained-release protein blend from CORE Nutritionals with three fully-disclosed protein sources and an amino acid profile provided on the label:
-
Cold-Processed Undenatured Whey Protein Concentrate – 15.63g (yields 12.5g protein)
-
Cross-Flow Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate – 6.94g (yields 6.25g protein)
-
Milk Protein Isolate – 6.94g (yields 6.25g protein)
Adding it all up, we get a total of 25g protein in Core PRO. Note that the first ingredient is “WPC-80” or whey protein concentrate at an 80% protein-by-weight concentration.
CORE then adds coconut oil creamer and a gum blend to smooth it out, and also has added digestive enzymes from DigeSEB. DigeSEB is in many of CORE’s proteins, and includes lactase for lactose support as well as protease for protein digestion support.
Slower and faster proteins
The blend inside has milk protein isolate, which includes both casein and whey portions. We’ll have mostly whey protein in the entire blend, but milk protein adds enough casein protein to add some slower-absorbing protein. The end result is a solid stream of amino acids for a longer period of time. This works perfectly between meals, before bed, or whenever you need a snack.
If you want pure whey isolate for faster speed, then you can definitely get Core ISO instead – but the flavors won’t be this adventurous!
All Core PRO Flavors
Below are all of the Core PRO flavors available right now:
Other CORE Nutritionals proteins:
As always, we have to list the CORE protein line – they may not have meant for it to happen, but Core Nutritionals is definitely a protein brand (with plenty of other great stuff). Here’s what they have:
- Core PRO – Peanut Butter & Jelly is a Core PRO flavor here
- Core POST – Post-workout with added carbs
- Core ISO – Pure whey isolate, the fastest digesting
- Core MRP – Meal replacement powder – includes low glycemic impact, grain-based carbohydrates
- Core VEGAN – Plant protein powder
- Core PUDD’n – Thick protein sludge
- Core BALLS – High-protein snack in ball form factor
We’re honestly doubtful that these products will get the PB&J flavor, but you never know! It could actually work well in Core Balls. We’ll let Doug know.
It’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time
Between Vanilla Toffee Gaintime and this Peanut Butter & Jelly flavor, CORE Nutritionals has come out with some incredibly unique and creative flavors for Core PRO. As their flagship protein powder, it definitely gets to have all of the fun.
This is a very solid protein blend that lends itself to awesome flavors. If you want it in grape, then you’ll need to send the team a strongly worded letter (address it to Patrick) – but for us normal people, strawberry PB&J is where it’s at, and this flavor and protein blend is once again on point.
Until next time, enjoy and sign up for our Core Nutritionals news alerts. They have a lot more on the way.
