Vanilla Toffee Protein?! It’s Golden Gaintime!

Today, CORE Nutritionals has launched a Vanilla Toffee Gaintime flavor of Core Pro, their popular sustained-release protein. This one is especially meant to please the Australian crowd, as it’s meant to taste like the Golden Gaytime toffee and vanilla ice cream treats that are so popular there.

Golden what? What is this flavor system?

CORE Nutritionals’ latest flavor system is modeled after a popular Australian ice cream snack flavor first released in the late 1950s — Golden Gaytime. Created and distributed by the Streets confectionary company, this delicious treat consists of toffee and vanilla ice cream put onto a popsicle stick, dipped in chocolate, and sprinkled with unique honey-sweetened cookie crumbs (“biscuits”). It’s also known as Cookie Crumble in New Zealand.

While this isn’t an official collaboration with the brand, the flavor system is based upon the taste of the ice cream treat described above, and will be incredibly unique to American tongues. Those who enjoy vanilla and toffee with notes of honey will be extremely impressed with Core’s flavoring here – both in America and abroad!

Opening the tub, you’ll get a straight blast of toffee smell, with a light, milky vanilla toffee flavor that is absolutely delicious when mixed. The finish is a light chocolate feel, and everything is light but exquisite. According to our taste buds, this is a job well done, CORE!

A bit about Core PRO

Core PRO is Core Nutritionals’ sustained-release protein blend that has its protein sources fully-disclosed, as well as an amino acid profile as shown in the image attached:

• Cold-Processed Undenatured Whey Protein Concentrate – 15.63g yielding 12.5g protein

• Cross-Flow Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate – 6.94g yielding 6.25g protein

• Milk Protein Isolate – 6.94g yielding 6.25g protein

Running the math, this means that the whey protein concentrate is WPC-80 (80% protein by weight) and we have a total of 25g protein in Core PRO.

The blend is smoothed out with a coconut oil creamer, a mixed gum blend, and has added digestive enzymes from DigeSEB, an ingredient CORE Nutritionals frequently uses in their protein powders.

With milk protein isolate providing some slower-digesting casein protein, while the first two ingredients provide faster-digesting whey protein, CORE has put together a mixed protein blend that should last a bit longer in the gut.
