CORE Nutritionals, headed up by the legendary Doug Miller, is a brand known for its no-holds-barred, ruthlessly professional approach to supplementation. They take the business seriously.
It seems to have worked out for them – CORE has been around for 18 years now, and the pace doesn’t seem to be slowing. Through a combination of scientifically rigorous formulation and artful flavoring, CORE is always at the top of their game.
This doesn’t mean, however, that they don’t know how to let loose and have some fun.
Core HYDRATE: Fun Sweets
In August, Core released a collaboration with Fun Sweets, one of the biggest confectionary kings in the world. They are known first and foremost for cotton candy, the cloud-like substance that fits right in on warm summer nights while waiting for your turn on the ferris wheel. It has been a powerful force of nostalgia as we recall the light airy treats dissolving effortlessly on the tongue.
As a part of this collaboration, the duo released two flavors – Cotton Candy Cherry Berry and Cotton Candy Blue Raspberry – for both Core FURY and Core PUMP. This marked the CORE’s second flavor collaboration (the first of which was a delicious Moose Tracks PUDD’n flavor).
Now, we’re getting these same two flavors for Core HYDRATE, the brand’s premium hydration offering.
We’re going to dive into a little summary on how Core Hydrate works, but first, let’s check the PricePlow for good Core deals, and check out our video review of the new flavor:

Core Hydrate – How It Works
If you want to check out our full ingredient analysis on Hydrate, check out our article titled “CORE Hydrate: A New Bar is Set for Electrolyte Supplements”. Here’s a concise summary:
- Sodium (350mg): the much-maligned electrolyte is nonetheless vital for maintaining proper hydration, especially in the context of intense exercise. A lot of sodium is lost through sweat and supplementation helps replenish stores for proper cellular hydration. Core did not shy away from the salt in Hydrate, and we love to see it.
- Potassium (530mg): the other side of the electrolyte coin is potassium. Consuming the correct ratio of sodium and potassium provides the best hydration benefits, while mitigating the risks of excess sodium intake. In addition, potassium is essential for cardiovascular health and bone density.
- Chloride (557mg): another electrolyte that combines with others like sodium and potassium to create mineral salts, which are absorbable by the body. Chloride is also necessary for stomach acid production and the prevention of bacterial overgrowth.
- Calcium (100mg): an essential nutrient for bone health, blood pressure, cell division, immune function, and more.
- Magnesium (139mg): an electrolyte that is often underfed in a standard diet. Magnesium deficiency can lead to issues like lethargy and insulin resistance. It’s important to get the dose right, though, because overdosing magnesium has been known to cause some less-than-desirable gastrointestinal activity.
- Zinc (3mg): a mineral that helps regulate immune function, DNA synthesis, and cell division.
- Vitamin C (250mg): an antioxidant that helps beat back inflammation and improve immunity. Vitamin C is necessary for whole-body hydration.
- L-Taurine (1,000mg): an osmolyte that can delay fatigue onset and improve athletic performance. It has also been shown to improve mental function and clarity.
- Coconut Water Concentrate (500mg): one of the healthiest sources of electrolytes on the market.
- ElevATP (150mg): helps to increase the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the cellular energy “currency” of the body.
- ConcenTrace AC (100mg): another source of electrolyte minerals that contains some additional minerals like sulfate, lithium, and boron.
- Senactiv (50mg): an ingredient derived from ginseng and chestnut rose that helps clear the body of old and dead cells, making room for new cells. As a result, the body is able to stay “fresh”, leading to improved performance.

Here is an up-to-date list of HYDRATE flavors:
Good Flavors: Key To Adherence
Hydration supplements have taken the supplement world by storm in the last few years. They haven’t always been huge, though. After all, hydration seems like such a simple thing – just drink water, right?
As it turns out, proper hydration is about more than just water intake. Your cells need to be able to use those fluids in order for it to make a difference. The processes of cellular and whole-body hydration are complicated, and both come down to consuming an adequate supply of vital electrolytes in the correct ratios.
CORE’s scientific prowess comes in handy here as they push the envelope with the sodium dose, all the while ensuring a proper balance with other electrolytes like potassium and chloride. At the end of the day, Core HYDRATE is, as always, a dependable way to set-it-and-forget-it – to ensure your body has exactly what it needs to perform at its best.
As for Fun Sweets, we’re stoked to see CORE dip into the world of collaborations again, and this one is paying off big time. Fun Sweets is a brand known around the world for its cotton candy, and we have loved being able to enjoy that timeless flavor in our blender cup.
