Heidi is known for her complex and innovative recipes, but did you ever wonder what she does for a basic go-to daily protein shake?
Well, she has a few options, but this week we’re sharing one of her absolute favorites — Coffee, Cookies & Cream, and banana — and it’s low-fat so it won’t expand a low-fat dieter’s waistline! All in large part this is thanks to Cookies & Cream Magnum Quattro.
Heidi uses Nescafe Instant Espresso for this one, which is a fine choice and is the simplest route by far. If you’re a bit of a coffee snob, however, you can prepare some cold-brewed coffee in advance and keep it on hand. Just take your favorite grounds and either put them in some sort of a filter bag, or immerse them directly in the water and then filter through a fine mesh strainer or paper filter later.
Either way, let the coffee steep in the fridge for at least 12 hours — it’s easiest to just do this overnight. Cold-brewed coffee is just as potent and flavorful, but has the advantage of being much less acidic, which both reduces the bitterness and also makes it easier on your stomach!
