NutraBio Clear Whey Isolate: Light, Refreshing, and Fruity!

Clear Whey Protein NutraBio

Clear the way for a new twist on protein powders!

When NutraBio entered the sports nutrition industry back in 1996, the first product they launched was 100% Whey Protein Isolate. Mark Glazier, the company’s CEO and founder, set out on a mission to create filler and excipient-free high-quality supplements with fully disclosed labels and formulated with premium ingredients at efficacious dosages. Fast forward to 2020, NutraBio is one of the most respected brands in the industry because of their honesty, transparency, and commitment to serving customers.

NutraBio, headquartered in Middlesex, New Jersey, is one of the few brands that manufacture every supplement in their state-of-the-art cGMP-certified and FDA-registered facility. While the majority of supplement brands outsource product development and manufacturing, NutraBio oversees every step of research, production, and development. You can even see NutraBio’s third party ingredient test results linked right from their product pages.

Introducing the newest protein made #WithoutCompromise: NutraBio Clear Whey Protein Isolate

The newest protein powder to the line is NutraBio Clear Whey Isolate. Rather than a thick, creamy consistency, Clear Whey Isolate is more like a sports drink or fruit juice.

“Introducing NutraBio’s Clear Whey Isolate, an entirely new experience that’s more like a fruit juice than the normal milky protein drink! Clean, Light, and Refreshingly Fruity; fuel your lifestyle and exhilarate your taste buds!”

– NutraBio

Off the bat, NutraBio released Clear Whey Isolate in three fruit flavors, but the list below will remain up-to-date:

In appearance, Clear Whey Isolate stands out from other NutraBio protein powders. It’s packaged in a white tub and adorned with colorful labels… but the way it mixes and settles — translucently — is where the real action is at!

    NutraBio Clear Whey Isolate Macronutrients

Each bottle of Clear Whey Isolate contains 20 servings. NutraBio recommends adding one scoop to 12 ounces of cold water and mixing with a shaker bottle for 25 to 30 seconds. You can vary the amount of liquid depending on how strong or mild you like the flavor to be. Since whey protein isolate has a fast digestion rate, it’s great to consume post-workout to activate muscle protein synthesis and kickstart the recovery process.

    NutraBio Clear Whey Isolate Ingredients

No fat, no sugar, less than one gram of carb, and 20 grams of protein?!

Here’s what one serving (24.43g) of Clear Whey Isolate contains:

    • Calories: 80

    • Protein: 20g

    • Carbohydrates: 1g

    • Fat: 0g

You’ll notice on the supplement facts panel that NutraBio doesn’t list fats or sugars. This is not an error. According to FDA rules and regulations, a supplement facts label must not list nutrients with zero values. A nutrition facts panel lists all nutrients, even those with zero values.

NutraBio also does this for their 100% Whey Protein Isolate. You can learn more about NutraBio products and flavors by checking out this article: NutraBio 100% Whey Protein Isolate Flavors Get the Upgrade, Starting with Strawberry Ice Cream

    NutraBio Clear Whey Isolate Ingredients

Since this is a protein powder, we’re going to break down ingredients into two sections: protein source and other ingredients.

    • Whey Protein Isolate – 23.64g (WPI90 yielding 20g of complete protein) (CFM low temperature, cross-flow ultra, and microfiltration)

NutraBio Chocolate Peanut Butter Bliss Small

Crush your sweet tooth with NutraBio’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Bliss!

The only protein source that NutraBio uses in Clear Whey Isolate is 100% whey protein isolate (WPI90), which means it’s at least 90% protein by weight. Nearly all of the calories in the supplement come from protein (one gram of protein is approximately four calories). NutraBio even identifies the exact amount of the whey protein isolate included in each serving —23.64 grams, which yields 20 grams of complete protein.

NutraBio notes the processing method used to create the whey protein isolate — low-temperature cross-flow ultra and microfiltration. This processing method prevents the protein from becoming denatured and filters out most of the lactose, fat, and carbohydrates, leaving behind one of the purest forms of whey protein on the market.

Whey protein isolate is rich in all nine essential amino acids, including the three branched-chain amino acids — leucine, isoleucine, and valine — that are primarily responsible for activating muscle protein synthesis. Whey protein isolate is rapidly digested and absorbed into the bloodstream, making it the ideal protein source to use pre and/or post-workout.

    • Other Ingredients

NutraBio is one of the few brands that list dosages for their flavor systems. So we can report exactly how much of each ingredient the company uses, down to each sweetener. Note that this breakdown is specifically for Mango Mist. Ingredients will vary depending on flavor.

Therefore, Clear Whey Isolate easily fits into most diets. For some, consuming enough protein on a daily basis can be challenging. That’s why protein powder is one of the most popular supplements in the sports nutrition industry.

Research shows that active individuals should consume at least 1.4 to 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day to adequately fuel muscle growth, recovery, and repair.[1] So if you weigh 200 pounds, then you should be intaking anywhere from 126 to 180 grams of protein. Although users can always get their protein from real food, having a high-quality protein powder on hand is an easy, convenient, and affordable way to hit one’s protein intake.

If you prefer drinking fruit juice to a milkshake, then you would likely enjoy Clear Whey Isolate. Like all of NutraBio’s supplements, this one is third-party tested and the results are published online.
