Very rarely does a new protein powder grab our attention quite like today’s product from CTD Sports. More or less all protein powders are the same, minus small differences in flavoring. But, for the most part one protein is almost identical in nature to another.
Until today.
Isolicious is a 100% whey isolate formula that’s amassed a serious following, pulling in customers from several other companies fan bases. Its cereal-based flavors call to the inner child in all of us and bring us back to a time when all we cared about was how soon we could get back outside and play.

The Good
Isolicious uses 100% Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) as its sole source of protein. WPI is a more “refined” source of whey protein that are a considerable step up in quality over whey concentrates.
Whey isolate removes virtually all traces of carbs and fats, leaving you with a product that contains at minimum 90% protein.[1] Compared to concentrates, isolates have a much higher protein content and greater ease of digestibility due to the almost complete absence of lactose.
Does grass-fed whey matter?
As far as the grass-fed part goes – this is usually more important for the fatty acid composition of the beef you eat. Cows are supposed to eat grass, but our “Westernization” fattens them up faster with grain-based feed. While that works to beef up a cow faster, it gives the cows a far worse fatty acid composition in their meat, with less healthy omega-3’s in the fats and fewer antioxidants than their grass-fed counterparts.[2,3]
We’re all about grass-fed beef if you can afford it due to this… but, is it worth it for a whey protein isolate where we’re filtering out all of those better fats anyway?!
For those of you who don’t mind spending, sure, it might make a marginally better whey isolate. But it’s probably not completely necessary… although we’re not complaining if we can keep the prices down in our Isolicious price comparisons above and below.

The Rest
There’s no real “bad” ingredients holding Isolicious back from being a great protein powder. The remainder of the ingredients consist of natural and artificial flavors, soy lecithin, sucralose (Splenda), and a couple of gums to help thicken the powder up and give it a more satiating mouthfeel.
Having splenda as the only sweetener isn’t ideal in our opinion (or many others for that fact), but from the rave reviews we’ve read about this protein, it doesn’t seem to be turning too many people off.
Macros
Each serving of Isolicious measures 30g and gives the following macros:
- Calories: 110
- Protein: 25g
- Carbs: 2g (0g sugar)
- Fats: 0g (0g saturated)
Flavors
Here’s where CTD Sports has set Isolicious apart from virtually all other players in the protein market. Rather than have simple flavors like most isolates do, Isolicious brings out the inner child in all of us and recreates some of the favorite cereal flavors from our childhood.
- Cinnamon Cereal Crunch
- Coco Cereal Crunch
- Fruity Cereal Crunch
Takeaway
Isolicious is a straightforward whey isolate that will easily etch its way into our Top 10 Protein Powder List. The flavoring and macros on this powder are simply too good to not have it earn a spot alongside the other isolate-based powders on there.
Next time you want something a little more macro-friendly than a bowl of cold cereal, but still want that same flavor, grab Isolicious and you’ll be instantly whisked back to those nostalgic days of yesteryear.
