Core MRP Banana Nut Bread is in the House

Who doesn’t love Banana Nut Bread?! It’s a common home-baked favorite, especially useful if you’ve bought too many bananas that are getting overripe. We’ve seen it used as a protein powder flavor system, but we think it’s best used like this — as a meal replacement flavor! And that’s exactly what we today with the latest flavor of CORE Nutritionals MRP, launched in September 2023:

Core MRP now in a Banana Nut Bread flavor!

Core Nutritionals MRP Banana Nut Bread

Core Nutritionals MRP has an incredible new flavor launched in 2023 – Banana Nut Bread – perfect for a meal replacement protein!

Last time we talked about MRP (August 2022), we wrote about their epic new Cinnamon & Brown Sugar flavor (and before that it was S’Mores and Carrot Cake).

All three of those flavor systems are exquisite, with there’s still room for more. Lately in the supplement industry, we’ve been complaining that bananas don’t get enough love, and it sounds like Doug Miller and his team have listened!

Core MRP has several incredible flavors — it’s been around for a long time and is what actually started the brand (listen to Doug Miller talk about it a bit in Episode #050 of the PricePlow Podcast).

Below is our flavor review, and then we recap Core MRP’s nutritional profile. Before that, let’s check PricePlow’s coupon-powered prices and show the availability of all of these flavors:

What’s in Core MRP?

As discussed in the intro, Core MRP stands for a meal replacement protein that spawned the beginnings of CORE Nutritionals. As founder and CEO Doug Miller explained on our podcast linked above, when he was really getting into bodybuilding, he was tired of cheap meal replacement powders that had way too much high-glycemic filler like maltodextrin. He took it upon himself to make something better — Core MRP — and over the next several years, he finally amassed enough success to take entrepeneurship at CORE full-time!

Core MRP still crushes it to this day, giving its enjooyers the following features:

Core Nutritionals MRP Banana Nut Bread

  • Lower-glycemic carbohydrates that are slower-digesting
  • A lower-fat macronutrient balance of carbs and protein
  • A vitamin and mineral blend, some from whole foods
  • Digestive enzymes to boost absorption
  • Incredible and unique flavor profiles (you don’t see many with Carrot Cake, after all)

You can learn more in our main Core MRP article. The quick synopsis is that CORE is using whole grain oat flour as the primary carb source along and a blend of whey protein concentrate, milk protein isolate, and whey protein isolate for its thick and delicious protein.

In terms of fats, you get the healthy and energetic variety of saturated fats from MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) thanks to the coconut oil creamer. All of this is backed up by some salt, sweeteners, thickeners, and a whole-food-based vitamin and mineral blend. As (nearly) always with Doug Miller’s protein powders, there’s added digestive enzymes to improve digestion and absorption — they come from the trademarked DigeSEB blend here in MRP.

Core MRP is even great to bake with!

Doug Miller changed the meal replacement protein market for all time — centuries from now, it’s a moment that will be etched in his Wikipedia page and on his tombstone forever more. Before Core MRP, it was nothing but trash, but Doug and his team forced the industry to improve with a formula that was actually made of quality ingredients.

This product is especially good if you’re a low-fat dieter needing some support to get through the day, and everything else out there is too loaded up with toxic unsaturated fats. Core MRP brings extra protein and carbs as a solid meal replacement, or for some of you bigger folks, a healthy snack between meals.

You shouldn’t always rely on MRPs, but they are incredible to have around, especially when you’re running low on your bulk-cooked meat. And worst, case scenario, if the entire food supply collapses (we don’t think it will, for the record), there’s not much better to have around than a product like this!
