Oh Yeah ONE Almond Bliss Bar

Before we get to the macro breakdown, let’s take a second to walk you through what you can expect when unwrapping one of the newest creations from OhYeah! Imagine the quintessential candy bar from your childhood, the Almond Joy.

OhYeah! One Bar Almond Bliss Inside

Each Almond Bliss bar has a thin coating of chocolate that includes 3 whole almonds and a chewy center of soft ground coconut.

On the outside you have a delicate layer of chocolate coating that gives the bar some earthiness and sweetness. This provides the base for your taste bud travels. But wait there’s more!

On top of each bar, covered in the layer of chocolate, are three almonds to further the almond flavor and provide some textural contrast for your palate. From there, it’s time to dive into the filling. This is where you come face to face with the almond/coconut combo.

Inside, you’ll find soft finely ground coconut, don’t worry there’s no gritty flakes, and best of all, some crunchy rice crispy nuggets mixed in with the coconut as well to further the varied textures you’ll encounter when biting into this bar.

All of this results in a bar, that’s sweet, but not overpowering, refreshing and dare we say, better than Lemon Cake ONE Bar?!

Ingredient Spotlight

As we’ve seen with just about all the ONE bars, each one’s macros are just a hair different depending on the flavor.

As we’ve done with each of the previous ONE bars, we like to highlight one or two ingredients that separate each bar from the rest of the family. Today’s ingredient happens to be Almonds.

Almonds

While maybe not as popular or well-known to your taste buds as the humble peanut, the almond is a star on its own. Most think of the almond as any other nut, but actually, almonds are the the seed of the fruit of the almond tree. It’s not hard to miss almond trees either, as they are medium-sized trees that bear fragrant pink and white flowers.

Aside from being downright delicious, almonds are also heart-healthy! A recent study in the British Journal of Nutrition found that participants who ate almonds daily improved a number of factors associated with heart disease risk.[1] Among these risk factors, one of the most notable was reduced blood levels of all LDL fractions (“bad” cholesterol) including small dense LDL, the type most likely to increase risk for CVD.

The health benefits of almonds don’t stop at your heart though. Regular consumption of almonds has also been shown to decrease rises in blood sugar after eating.[2,3]

OhYeah! One Bar Almond Bliss Now

Almond Bliss is available NOW! If you’re tired of chocolate PB flavors and want something new and interesting, grab some today!

Almonds are a true “health” nut that are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that fight inflammation and the accumulation of free radicals.[2] And what better way to enjoy your almonds that in the form of a delicious protein bar!

But obviously, when looking at the label, this is where your increase in fat calories are going to come from. Not necessarily a bad thing!

Reviewer Feedback

Reviews from the community have been raving about the clean, coconutty flavor of the bar as well as the soft chew it has. Several comments we’ve come across state that Almond Bliss is far and away the best flavor to try, and if you thought Lemon Cake was good, this blows it out of the water!

Takeaway

Almond Bliss may seem like a walk on the wild side in terms of protein bar flavors, and it may be, but the market is saturated with endless variations of chocolate, peanut butter ONE Bars, and cookie dough ONE Bar flavors.

This new flavor of the ONE bar goes after those who have suffered palate-fatigue from the mundane flavors that plague virtually all protein bars. If the initial feedback is a good barometer for Almond Bliss, you’ll be happy you decided to deviate from the standard and embrace the bliss that is Almond Bliss.

Quest is right to watch their backs. Quest sold out to venture capitalists[4] (not always a bad thing), but then worsened their ingredients, and now they’ve have opened the door for ONE Barsthe Next Big Thing in protein bars.
