MTS Whey Protein: The Machine’s Whey – Certified Non-Spiked!

MTS Whey

MTS Nutrition Whey is a premium quality protein that’s cGMP and NSF certified as well as tested free of added amino acids.

While combing through our Best Protein Powder Guide, we quickly realized that although we had ranked / rated all of these fantastic protein powders, several of them didn’t have any actual data or breakdowns on our site explaining what’s in them!

The best way to fix that problem? Give you ladies and gentlemen the explanations, breakdowns, and updates you’ve come to know and love (or at least we “think” you like them)!

Today’s protein feature involves one of the best known (and best tasting) protein powders around Marc Lobliner’s MTS Whey (officially known as “MTS Nutrition Machine Whey Protein”), which has recently been in the news for a 100% thorough and successful amino acid test![1]

In a rather short time, this fledgling brand has come to be regarded as much for its flavor as for its quality ingredients, much thanks to the charismatic YouTube star behind MTS Nutrition, Marc “The Machine” Lobliner.

The breakdown is just ahead, but first, take a moment to realize that PricePlow can you get the best deals on Machine Whey because of all of our coupons:

MTS Nutrition Whey Ingredients

MTS Whey is manufactured in a cGMP-certified facility, and is also “NSF Certified for Sport”, which means you can trust it completely, no questions asked. Each batch is tested for quality and purity, so you can rest assured what’s on the label is in the tub.

  • Optimal Biological Value Whey Protein Matrix

    MTS Whey Ingredients

MTS Whey uses a combination of WPC-80 and Whey Isolate to give you 25g of high quality protein per scoop.

MTS Whey, as you would expect, is a 100% whey protein blend that combines whey protein concentrate (WPC) and whey protein isolate (WPI), in that order. While both derived from whey protein found in milk, WPI is a higher quality, and more refined version of whey protein that contains at least 90% protein and very little carbs or fats.[2]

WPC on the other hand can range anywhere from 35-80% protein, with the remainder consisting of carbs (from lactose) and fats. Fortunately, the guys at MTS have included the highest grade of WPC by using WPC-80 in their protein matrix, which helps keep protein high, and carbs/fats to a minimum.

  • The “extras”

MTS has a rather extensive line of flavors, and when you venture away from the standard chocolate and vanilla offerings, and work your way towards flavors like Red Velvet Cake or Cookies & Cream, the ingredients get a little more cumbersome due to the inclusion of “bonus” goodies like cake bits or cookie pieces.

While you could debate the “cleanliness” of certain ingredients used in those such as white flour or high-fructose corn syrup, one you can’t deny is trans fats. That’s right, MTS Whey is one of the only companies to make a Cookies & Cream powder that contains NO TRANS FATS!

This is one of the many reasons why MTS Whey ranks highly amongst our Best Protein Powders.

  • The Rest

    MTS Whey Comparison

Let’s see how MTS Whey compares to some other industry leading proteins!

As for the remaining ingredients in Machine Whey, you’ll get the usual cast of additives, flavorings and stabilizers like Cocoa Powder, Natural & Artificial flavors, Xanthan Gum, and salt. For sweetening, MTS Whey uses a combination of Sucralose and Ace-K, respectively.

Macros

Depending on the flavor, the macros will slightly differ for each with the differences being very minimal.

  • Calories: 150 – 153
  • Protein: 25g
  • Carbs: 3 – 6g (2-3g sugar)
  • Fats: 2 – 3g (1-1.5g saturated)

The one drawback to a whey protein concentrate is that not everyone can have it — if you’re lactose intolerant or overly lactose sensitive, the milk sugars (lactose) may get to you in this one. Fear not, there are many great whey protein isolates!

Time for us to update with the new flavors!!!

Flavors Available

Here’s where Machine Whey really delivers with the masses – it’s outstanding flavoring, touted by some as the best in the market. In total, MTS Whey comes in a rather expansive 18 flavors running the gamut from ordinary to exotic:

Takeaway

Marc Lobliner and MTS Nutrition set out to provide a high quality whey protein powder that was both tasty and macro friendly, which is exactly what they’ve accomplished with Machine Whey. It’s even been tested for possible amino spiking and passed with flying colors.[1]

If you’ve suffered palate fatigue from your typical go-to protein powder, it’s definitely worth considering Machine Whey as a high protein alternative, and who knows, after trying the plethora of palate pleasing flavors, you just might wind up with a new “go-to” protein!.
