If you’re doing pie for the holidays (and who isn’t), here’s an interesting protein-packed alternative for your a la mode.

Heidi’s ice cream alternative uses ice, coconut milk and Vanilla flavored Magnum Quattro to give you a frozen treat minus the saturated fat (and plus quality protein)!

This recipe has just one step: blending!

See our disclaimer below regarding the cherries though — that’s where the carbs can sneak up on you.

Mrs. Cannon's Maple Cherry Ice Cream with Magnum Quattro
The macros on this one are really going to come down to the cherries you use. If you use sugar-soaked garbage out of a jar, you're going to double the number of carbs. Keep it fresh, light, and natural with the cherries!

Also, measuring your syrup with an actual tablespoon is a major difference. You don't need to pour it all over the place to taste good syrup!

Real maple syrup is a lot pricier than the Aunt Jemima fake fructose corn syrup stuff, but it’s important here. Not just because it’s carrying so much of the flavor, but it also has a lower glycemic index than most of the cheap sweeteners.
