Kiwi Blueberry EAAs?! RAW Nutrition brings a big flavor for their big EAA dosing

Raw Nutrition continues to gain momentum in the sports nutrition industry, and with new flavors added to their arsenal, that momentum is accelerating. Co-founders Matt Jansen and Dr. Domenic Iacovone are committed to formulating top-tier supplements that optimize performance, recovery, and help achieve fitness goals — and now they’re adding a unique new flavor.

Kiwi Blueberry EAAs?! Yes.

RAW Nutrition has released several supplements since their launch in July 2020, one being RAW EAA. It came out in a few flavors, but none as unique and exciting as their summer 2021 flavor: Kiwi Blueberry!

A quick list of the ingredients is below, but for an in-depth look, read our article titled “RAW EAA: A Refreshing Way to Kick Start Recovery“. You can sign up for PricePlow’s RAW Nutrition’s news and deal alerts and then get to the review:

Raw EAA: A full spectrum EAA supplement

Our original RAW Nutrition EAA article goes into further detail

The industry has long since moved on from BCAA formulas to fully-fledged EAA formulas that contain all nine of the essential amino acids, which includes the three BCAAs. BCAAs are easier to flavor and have their occasional place, but EAAs pack more punch.

Studies suggest that drinking all nine EAAs gives an edge on BCAAs when it comes to recovery, activating muscle protein synthesis (MPS), and preventing excessive muscle protein breakdown.[1,2] And now it comes in a Kiwi Blueberry flavor that we’ve only seen one other brand attempt to do.

To learn more about the differences between EAAs and BCAAs read our 2018 article titled “EAA is the New BCAA: Essential Amino Acids Stage a Coup.

RAW Nutrition’s EAA Recapped

RAW EAA is a supplement that can be taken pre-workout, intra-workout, and even post-workout. Really whenever you’re feeling like you need a good flow of essential amino acids in your bloodstream and a steak isn’t nearby or convenient. For best results, however, RAW suggests taking a full scoop (12.6 grams) 20 to 30 minutes prior to training.

RAW EAA Ingredients

Here’s what’s included in one scoop (12.6 grams) of RAW EAA:

Raw Nutrition EAA Ingredients

WELL-Dosed EAAs! The Raw Nutrition EAA Ingredients are no joke

  • L-Leucine – 3 grams

  • L-Isoleucine – 1 gram

  • L-Valine – 1 gram

  • L-Phenylalanine – 1 gram

  • L-Lysine – 1 gram

  • L-Threonine – 1 gram

  • L-Methionine – 500 milligrams

  • L-Histidine – 300 milligrams

  • L-Tryptophan – 300 milligrams

Along with the EAAs, RAW includes the following electrolytes to support adequate hydration:

  • Phosphorus (as Disodium Phosphate) – 126 milligrams (10% DV)

  • Sodium (as Disodium Phosphate) – 192 milligrams (8% DV)

For those wondering, that’s a premium EAA formula (again, read the details in our main Raw EAA article). These are solid doses — all the way down the line. For example, you’re going to get literally 10-20x more methionine here than you would with most other EAA supplements.

Raw isn’t afraid to flavor the tough-to-flavor ingredients – but it’s worth noting that there is some erythritol in here, which is a sugar alcohol used to help sweeten the supplement alongside sucralose and acesulfame potassium (“ace-K”).

Other RAW EAA Flavors

Blueberry Kiwi: A flavor system you don’t see too often!

Kiwi Blueberry is a welcomed flavor to this full-spectrum supplement, and EAAs can join any supplement stack. Here’s an update-to-date list of all RAW EAA available flavors:

RAW Nutrition Continues to Prove They Have What it Takes.

Since they launched RAW Nutrition, Matt and Domenic have made a huge impact on the supplement industry in a short time – especially when you add in their Revive MD brand. The release of RAW EAA in the kiwi blueberry flavor ices that cake, but we know there’s a lot of other bigger things to come.
