Whey protein isolate goes through additional processing to remove nearly all lactose, carbohydrates, and fats. At no less than 90% protein by weight, WPI is one of the purest forms of protein. While it’s lower in calories, WPI tends to have a thinner consistency, it’s more challenging to flavor, and normally costs more. With that said, several companies are finding ways to make whey protein isolate taste just as good, if not better, than whey protein concentrate. It’s important to remember, if you’re sensitive to lactose or on a calorie, fat, or carb-cutting diet, WPI may be a better choice.

Alpha Prime Supps Whey Blend vs. ISO Protein
The two protein powders that AP offers at the moment are:

The first major difference between these two protein powders is the price. ISO Protein is listed at $44.99, whereas Whey Blend is $34.99, before any coupons or discount codes.
The next difference is the flavors. As of writing this blog post, ISO Protein is available in vanilla, chocolate, and toasted coconut. Whey Blend comes in a chocolate peanut butter cup, vanilla soft serve, and chocolate brownie batter. Since Whey Blend contains 50% WPC, it’s better equipped to handle robust flavors due to the extra carbohydrate and fat content.
The last major difference between ISO Protein and Whey Blend is their macronutrients and calorie content.

Final Thoughts
Despite their differences, both protein powders are of high quality and made with minimal ingredients. Uses a 50/50 WPC and WPI combination for Whey Blend helps keep macronutrients in check. And it still allows for a richer consistency and flavor, and lower price. However, if you would rather save on the calories, ditch the lactose, and don’t mind a higher price point, then you really can’t go wrong with ISO Protein.
