The eggs and the coconut milk are the healthy sources of fat. If you don't want them, you'll need to get creative with egg whites, but quality eggs and quality saturated fats from coconut oil are always good in our book.

Meanwhile, the carbs are coming from pumpkin and condensed skim milk, but the pumpkin provides some good fiber, something none of us get enough of!

As you can see, this protein powder recipe entirely eliminates junk empty-calorie sweeteners and lets the natural sweetness and flavor of the pumpkin come through with a little spice enhancement.

You can top it up with a whipped cream that’s fat-free and sweetened with a zero-cal alternative like Splenda or Stevia for extra sweetness with almost no extra calories.

A diet tip on toppings and other stuff

Toppings are all about being smart. If you’re a low-fat dieter, add the sugar-free stuff… and if you’re a low-carb dieter, add the higher-fat stuff! It’s when you get caught in the middle with high-fat and high-carb junk that your diet and caloric goals get blown out of the water.

But the best topping might just be to get some fat-free Greek Yogurt, mix in some vanilla Quattro, and now you have a “frosting” with far less guilt!
