The adults in the room: It’s hard to believe that CORE Nutritionals has been around since 2005, a whopping 18 years ago. In this industry, that would make the brand an ancient player, but Doug Miller has definitely kept the ship looking young and energetic. This formula is one reason why – and today we get two new flavors:
Core HYDRATE: Peak Hydration
CORE has essentially become the “grown up in the room”, drawing a clear distinction between itself and some of the more flamboyant brands out there. They don’t make products for the casual athlete – only serious exercisers need apply.
Core HYDRATE is no exception to this rule. It’s a top-tier electrolyte formula drawing on science-backed doses of essential minerals and electrolytes, and boosted by ingredients like taurine, Senactiv, and plenty of potassium to balance out that sodium.
Today, we’re getting two new awesome flavors of CORE Hydrate:
Arctic Cherry and Strawberry Margarita
As the temperature slowly creeps up, we’re only a few months away from the sweltering summer heat, which makes proper hydration even more important for your athletic goals.
While in the winter you can enjoy some heavier, nearly dessert-like flavors, summer is a time for light, cool, refreshing flavors. Arctic Cherry and Strawberry Margarita fit that bill perfectly. We can’t wait to gulp down these cold fruity flavors after a sweat-soaked workout.
We’re going to dive into a little summary on how CORE Hydrate works, but first, let’s check the PricePlow for good CORE deals, and check out our video review of the new flavor:

About the flavors: Arctic Cherry and Strawberry Margarita
Arctic Cherry is pretty self-explanatory – it’s a cherry flavor that’s on the darker side, but isn’t too bold. It should please cherry-lovers from both sides of the red/dark cherry aisle.
But we should note that Strawberry Margarita essentially tastes like a mix between strawberry and a dash of lime – there’s no “alcohol-like” taste to it. Strawberry fans will enjoy this one.
CORE Hydrate – How It Works
The full analysis with scientific references is in our article titled “CORE Hydrate: A New Bar is Set for Electrolyte Supplements“, but below’s a nice synopsis of what to expect inside:
-
Sodium (350mg) Core Hydrate has a significant amount of salt, and a single serving provides more sodium than most electrolyte supplements. However, it is essential to consider the context of your entire diet, as 350 mg is not excessive on its own. The effects of getting too little sodium end up resembling those of getting too much, and consuming a low-sodium diet may increase the risk of “cardiovascular events.”
- Potassium (530mg) is important for cardiovascular health, improving bone mineral density, and enabling vasodilation leading to blood pressure improvements, making it a crucial addition to an electrolyte supplement. This is where Core Hydrate really sets itself apart from its competition.
- Chloride (557mg) combines with other electrolytes, such as sodium and potassium, to form mineral salts that can be absorbed by the body. Chloride is necessary for stomach acid production, aids in the absorption of nutrients, kills foodborne pathogens, prevents bacterial overgrowth, and facilitates water movement into the digestive tract.
- Calcium (100mg) is essential not only for bone health, but also for regulating heartbeat, nerve impulse conduction, blood pressure, water balance, cell division, immune function, energy and fat metabolism, and nutrient transport across cells, making it crucial for athletic performance.
- Magnesium (139mg) is an essential electrolyte mineral involved in numerous enzymatic reactions, and deficiency can cause fatigue, insulin resistance, and impaired cardiovascular function, so it is important to ensure adequate intake without overdoing it.
- Zinc (3mg) is crucial for various functions, including immune function, cellular energy production, DNA synthesis, protein synthesis, and cell division. It also acts as a potent antioxidant that can protect the eyes from damage.
- Vitamin C (250mg) is a widely used antioxidant that is known for its ability to fight inflammation and oxidative stress, as well as improve immunity. While electrolyte minerals are essential for athletic or cognitive hydration, vitamin C is important for full-body hydration, optimal hydration of every tissue, and skin hydration as it increases skin’s capacity for hydration, fights oxidative stress and inflammation, and promotes healthy collagen production.
- L-Taurine (1,000mg) is an osmolyte that promotes cellular hydration and cellular hyperhydration, which delays the onset of fatigue and improves physical performance. It is also considered conditionally essential, and can improve cognition and synergize with stimulants like caffeine to support mental performance.
- Coconut Water Concentrate (500mg) is an excellent source of electrolyte minerals, which are vital to replenish after a grueling workout.
- ElevATP (150mg) is a supplement designed to increase the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in the body. ATP is crucial for peak mental and physical performance since it is the form of energy that cells use to perform all of their work, and having large ATP stores available is important for human health and function.
- ConcenTrace AC (100mg) is a good source of several electrolyte minerals, including calcium, sodium, magnesium, and potassium, and it also contains some minerals that are worth discussing in more detail. These include sulfate, which is an essential mineral for cardiovascular health; lithium, which is believed to be an essential micronutrient for regulating mood and cognitive function; and boron, which may boost testosterone levels in men.
- Senactiv (50mg) is a senolytic agent derived from ginseng and chestnut rose that helps break down old, dead, or dying cells in the body, allowing for better tissue health and improved performance. Studies have shown that Senactiv’s bioactive compounds can reduce inflammation, muscle damage, and improve VO2max.

Strawberry fans love Core Nutritionals
As mentioned above, strawberry fans will like this new flavor. And we know Core has plenty of those with those Strawberry Colada flavors in their pre-workouts!
Good Flavors: Key To Adherence
If you’re looking for reliable products with top-of-the-line ingredients, CORE is your best bet. Doug Miller has built the juggernaut brand on the idea that you can’t skimp on the details, and as much as we love the updated Core FURY and those Moose Tracks PUDD’N, we’re nearly beginning to consider HYDRATE to be a flagship product!
Novel ingredients are fun to experiment with, but for your daily drivers, the most important factor to consider is consistency. Choose what works, and stick with it – and keep those sodium and potassium levels balanced out. The key to keeping it interesting is all in the flavor. With the release of Arctic Cherry and Strawberry Margarita, we have two new rejuvenating flavors just in time for summer.
