Arms Race Nutrition Vanilla Waffle Cone Foundation Protein

Arms Race Nutrition Vanilla Waffle Cone Foundation

Arms Race Nutrition is a unique brand in a sea of indistinguishable players within the supplement industry. Led by Julian Smith and Doug Miller, Arms Race Nutrition has made a name for themselves with top-notch formulas backed up with out-of-this-world flavors.

We have one such flavor recently released, and it’s a doozy.

Vanilla Waffle Cone Protein

ARN has had some big hits this year. First, we had two incredible new flavors of the ARN Foundation Bars: Fruity Cereal and Frosted Crunch Cereal. They have flown off the shelves and remain one of our favorite functional food offerings.

Next, the much-awaited Harness Evolution pre-workout released with a rock-solid formula, and yet another killer flavor (Orange Julian).

Now, ARN is giving their Foundation protein powder some love with the release of vanilla waffle cone, and we have to say: it is surpassing our already-high expectations. Built with ingredients like molasses and graham flour, our favorite part is the graham cookie gem inclusions.

We’re going to dive into how ARN Foundation Protein works, but first, let’s check the PricePlow for good ARN deals, and check out our video review of the new flavor:

ARN Foundation Ingredients

  • Whey Protein Blend

The Foundation protein powder derives its 24 grams of protein from whey protein, the standard protein source on the market. Whey protein is derived from cow’s milk, and has earned its special place in nutritional supplement canon due to its status as a highly digestible complete protein.[1] As a complete protein, it contains all nine essential amino acids that your body needs to perform the critical tissue repair functions that fuel recovery and body recomposition.

Foundation’s whey blend contains two types of whey protein. The first is whey protein concentrate (WPC), which is a form of whey that is anywhere from 35-80% pure protein by weight. This is not necessarily a bad thing. With less filtration, WPC retains some of the beneficial active components such as immunoglobulins and lactoglobulins, which are helpful for immune function.[2] The other constituent of the protein blend here is whey protein isolate (WPI), which is the purest form of whey, rating at more than 90% protein by weight.

All told, the blend of WPC and WPI combines to deliver a respectable 24 grams of protein per scoop. A variety of studies have concluded that whey protein supplementation can lead to improvements in strength and body composition.[3-6]

  • DigeSEB

Arms Race Nutrition Vanilla Waffle Cone Foundation

DigeSEB is a blend of digestive enzymes that help the protein absorption process along. After all, that 24 grams of protein won’t do much if your body can’t properly absorb it. The issue with whey protein, for many people, is in the lactose. DigeSEB contains, among others, lactase, which is an enzyme that helps break down lactose. Here are all five of the enzymes contained in DigeSEB and what they help digest:

    • Amylase: starches
    • Lactase: lactose
    • Protease: protein
    • Lipase: fats
    • Cellulase: cellulose

Together, these enzymes mean one thing: better absorption, better recovery, and more gains.

Flavor system

The real magic of ARN Foundation is in the flavor system – in particular, the presence of inclusions sets the product apart in a major way. One of the biggest components of the vanilla waffle cone flavor is Graham Cookie Gems – little bits of graham cracker heaven waiting to bless your tongue.

The rest of the flavor is built from ingredients like graham flour, honey, molasses, and coconut oil creamer.

    Inclusions win again

Arms Race Nutrition Vanilla Waffle Cone Foundation

One of our favorite developments in protein flavoring over the last few years has been the proliferation of inclusions. Whether they be chocolate chips or graham cookie gems, inclusions break up the often-monotonous standard protein shake texture.

Inclusions are tough to get right, though. If done incorrectly, inclusions are an unwelcome surprise when drinking down your post-workout shake. This is not a problem vanilla waffle cone seems to have, though.
