Earlier this month, we introduced the new Limitless X16 Pre-Workout from Mangum Nutraceuticals, and we were nothing short of ecstatic. The formula is bold, boasting huge amounts of classic pre-workout ingredients like citrulline and betaine, but that’s not what really sets it apart.

While the rest of the industry seems content with the status quo, Magnum took a huge leap forward with a few ingredients that level-up the pre-workout category even further, including both NeuroRush and EndoFlo from novel ingredient upstart, Aura Scientific.

For the new flavors, we have Vanilla Cherry Whip, Pineapple Punch, and Grape Splash, three refreshing profiles to keep us stocked and satisfied.

There’s a lot of substance to flavor, too — Limitless X16 is dosed with a monstrous 10 grams of citrulline, but the pumps are even more potent thanks to EndoFlo, an ingredient formulated for its vasodilatory effects. We’re treated to ~300 milligrams of total caffeine from two sources, which is bolstered by NeuroRush, an updated take on polyphenol extracts from coffee.

Magnum Limitless X16 Ingredients

The full analysis is in our main Limitless X16 article, but here’s a quick summary of the 27.3 gram behemoth:

• L-Citrulline – 10g: Massive pumps! Citrulline is a conditionally essential amino acid that enhances the body’s nitric oxide (NO) production more effectively than arginine due to better bioavailability, resulting in improved vasodilation, cardiovascular efficiency, athletic endurance, and muscle recovery.

  The lowest clinically-supported dose is 2.4 grams — this is over four times that amount!

• Betaine Anhydrous – 4g: a powerful ergogenic aid and methyl donor that enhances athletic performance by increasing ATP synthesis, upregulating metabolic regulators like AMPK, and promoting cellular hyperhydration, leading to significant gains in muscle mass and fat loss.

  The standard dose is 2.5 grams per day – again, Magnum’s above and beyond.

• Beta Alanine – 3.2g: a potent ergogenic aid that boosts performance by forming carnosine with histidine to detoxify lactic acid in muscles, with supplementation of beta-alanine being more effective than supplementing carnosine itself. It works especially well for exercises lasting 30 seconds to 10 minutes.
• L-Carnitine L-Tartrate – 2g: a highly bioavailable form of carnitine that, when taken daily, increases cellular oxygen delivery and androgen receptor density, enhancing the effects of testosterone and cellular-metabolic rate.

  

  We don’t see much carnitine in pre-workouts anymore, but we’re happy it’s here. This is completely underrated for recovery and metabolism. There’s still more carnitine to come!

• Tyrosine – 1.5g: an anti-stress supplement with nootropic benefits, serving as a precursor to catecholamine neurotransmitters and thyroid hormones, thus enhancing focus, motivation, energy, and supporting body recomposition.
• Acetyl L-Carnitine – 1g: the nootropic form of carnitine offers neuroprotective, neurotrophic, and antidepressant benefits due to its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, improving cognitive function and synaptic plasticity, particularly in older adults with mild cognitive impairment.

  This brings us up to 3 grams of total carnitine, which is a very well-studied amount.



• N-Acetyl Tyrosine – 500mg: see above. This form of tyrosine is more soluble in liquids — we’re now at ~2 grams of total tyrosine.
• Alpha-GPC 50% – 300mg: a bioavailable form of choline that supports phospholipid membrane synthesis and intercellular signaling, and enhances cognitive performance by increasing acetylcholine production, particularly excelling in memory consolidation due to its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier.
• N-Acetyl Cysteine – 300mg: a precursor to the potent antioxidant glutathione, and effectively supports liver health, immunity, female hormonal health, fertility, respiratory health, and muscular performance.
• EndoFlo – 250mg: a proprietary blend from Aura Scientific that includes four botanical extracts — Mangifera indica (mango fruit), Kaempferia parviflora (black ginger), Ginkgo biloba, and Pinus massoniana (pine bark) — that enhance vasodilation and circulation, making it a powerful stimulant-free pre-workout ingredient.

  

  These extracts, known for their cardiovascular and nootropic benefits, work synergistically to improve blood flow, muscular endurance, strength, and overall exercise performance. Our research also indicates that Kaempferia parviflora may have some anabolic potential.

• Caffeine Anhydrous – 200mg (of ~301mg total): a powerful methylxanthine stimulant that crosses the blood-brain barrier to enhance mood, focus, and athletic performance by reducing fatigue through adenosine receptor antagonism, boosting metabolism via cAMP upregulation, and improving cognition and fat burning, with a notable dose of 301 mg in Limitless X16.
• NeuroRush (Coffee Fruit Extract) – 150mg: a coffee fruit extract from Aura Scientific, contains 50% chlorogenic acid and significant amounts of 5-caffeoylquinic acid, offering cognitive benefits and mild euphoria when combined with stimulants. Studies show that 100 mg of coffee fruit extract can improve vigilance and reduce mental fatigue, while chlorogenic acid provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, potentially enhancing cognitive performance, mood, and longevity with a strong safety profile.

  We’ve been very impressed by the experience with this ingredient so far – it has some pop to it – and that goes beyond its 2% standardization.

• Green Coffee Bean Extract (98% Caffeine) – 100mg: standardized green coffee bean extract in Limitless X16 provides natural caffeine, often preferred to pure caffeine anhydrous (which is synthetically manufactured), bringing the total caffeine content to 301 milligrams per dose.
• Theacrine – 50mg: a stimulant alkaloid derived from Camellia kucha that offers longer-lasting effects than caffeine, reducing fatigue through adenosine antagonism, upregulating cAMP via phosphodiesterase inhibition, and enhancing focus, motivation, and energy, significantly improving athletic performance by increasing time to exhaustion.

  You can consider this to be “caffeine’s cousin”, so the caffeine + NeuroRush combination isn’t working alone here!



• Huperzia Flower Extract (1% Huperzine A) – 20mg: standardized for huperzine A, this ingredient inhibits acetylcholinesterase to prolong acetylcholine levels and promote neurogenesis, making them synergistic with acetylcholine boosters like alpha-GPC.
• Naringin – 10mg: Another ingredient we don’t see in pre-workouts too often, naringin can upregulate nitric oxide (NO) while scavenging free radicals and downregulating inflammatory iNOS. It decreases metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) expression, supporting enhanced athletic endurance and breathing during intense exercise thanks to its anti-inflammatory, pro-bronchodilatory effects.

Flavoring is Vital, Especially with Monster Formulas Like This

There are times when we want to take down massive 10 gram citrulline doses in 27+ gram scoop pre-workouts. Limitless X16 is a top-tier choice if you’re doing that – especially if you don’t want to go insane on caffeine like some of those other big-scoop pre-workouts do.
