Magnum Acid: Optimized CLA for Low-Fat Dieters

Magnum Acid

Magnum Acid is a unique CLA supplement that prioritizes two key isomers that help shed fat and preserve lean mass.

Often times people are looking for a novel approach to stimulant-free fat burning. These options often include “natural” herbal remedies that rarely work as effectively as advertised.

However, there is a compound found in food you eat daily that can amp up fat loss, provided you take in enough of it: Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA). Unlike stimulants that bring lots of unwanted side effects, CLA can be used habitually for ideal results without the drawbacks.

Magnum Nutraceuticals Acid is a scientific formulation using only the active CLA isomers shown to rev up your metabolism and support lean muscle growth.

Our quick take on conjugated linoleic acid

CLA has lost some steam in past years – our take is that it’s a good idea for low-fat dieters, who likely aren’t getting enough of the beneficial compound. Healthy high-fat, low-carb dieters, however, probably don’t need it.

Acid Ingredients

Acid’s profile may seem rather simple, but it’s the science behind CLA that makes it worth including in your fat-burning stack.

  • Magnum ACID™ CLA Isolate (1000mg)

    Magnum Acid Ingredients

Acid uses a patented combination of two unique isomers that are responsible for all of CLA’s purported benefits.

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a naturally occurring group of omega-6 fats found in dairy and meat. It’s been studied extensively as a stimulant free way to aid fat loss and support lean muscle mass.[1,2,3] Magnum has included the two active isomers of CLA that confer all of the benefits behind its weight loss magic: cis- 9, trans-11 and trans-10, cis-12.[4]

    How Does It Work?

CLA supports fat burning by increasing the body’s metabolic rate, in addition to inhibiting the enzyme lipoprotein lipase (LPL).[5] LPL enables adipocytes (fat cells) to remove fat from the bloodstream and store it as body fat. Inhibiting LPL encourages the body to burn fat for fuel rather than store it around your midsection.

The added benefit of this, is that CLA also helps spare lean muscle mass, something all dieters are in danger of losing when severely restricting calories. Since the body is burning fat for fuel, it won’t turn to your precious muscle when it needs energy to perform various tasks.

    When doesn’t it work?

    Magnum Acid Graph

Some research into CLA shows it to be a wonder ingredient for weight loss, others show no effect at all. Perhaps those weren’t using the formulation found in Acid?

To be fair, it’s not for everyone. There were also some studies showing limited or non-statistically-significant success.[6,7,8]

This could be due to the diet – if you already get these compounds in, they won’t need taking again. And it could be an effect that’s more individual, or standard forms of CLA that were studied are just not powerful enough.

Those failed studies, unfortunately, don’t always explain the full CLA formula like Acid does, so they might not be a fair apples-to-apples comparison.

Dosing

Magnum’s Acid is intended to be taken 3 times each day. Take one serving (2 softgels) before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Should you happen to miss one of your servings, simply double dose at the next meal.

Takeaway

So, who’s Magnum Acid for?

Ideally, it’s for those low-fat dieters who aren’t getting enough healthy fats in each day. It also makes a great add-on to Magnum’s carb-enhancing supplement Mimic.

If you’ve tried other CLA products in the past, and not experienced the ideal results you sought, it may be because you weren’t taking enough or using the appropriate formulation. Magnum’s Acid prioritizes the two most important isomers in CLA and gives you a max dose to amp up the fat burning while enabling you to hold onto your precious muscle.
