Fresh Supps, founded by Greg Helton – previously of Musclesport and Ryse – is one of the coolest new brands we have our eye on. This year, Fresh released their inaugural pre-workout, which we covered in our article titled “Fresh Supps Pre: Great Flavors, Effective Formula, Amazing Artwork“.
Fresh Pre is now getting a new flavor, and it’s a highly interesting one at that.
Fresh Supps Pre: Limited-Edition Yeti Berry for Winter 2023/2024
The new flavor is called Yeti Berry, and while the cold weather is just now starting to ramp up, Fresh Supps decided to double down on the chill.
A pre-workout that actually tastes… colder?!
We’re not sure exactly what voodoo magic they added to the flavor system, but the flavor actually tastes cold. It’s one of the more interesting sensations we’ve gotten from a flavor in a long time.
We’re going to dive into a little summary on how Fresh Pre works, but first, let’s check the PricePlow for good Fresh deals, and check out our video review of the new flavor:

Fresh Pre – How It Works
The full story is in our main Fresh Supps Pre article, but for a quick rundown, each two scoop serving of Fresh Pre contains the following ingredients:
- L-citrulline (6,000mg) is a conditionally essential amino acid that enhances nitric oxide (NO) production, especially important under stress, illness, or injury when the body’s demand for citrulline increases. It is more effective than arginine for increasing NO due to better absorption, leading to benefits like vasodilation, improved cardiovascular health, enhanced athletic performance, reduced muscle soreness, and increased endurance, while also reducing ammonia levels and aiding in recovery.
- Beta-alanine (3,200mg) is a popular sports supplement known for its ability to boost endurance by reducing lactate accumulation in muscles, primarily through increasing carnosine levels in muscle tissue. It’s more effective than direct carnosine supplementation due to better bioavailability, and is proven to be safe, even though it often causes a tingling sensation at a typical dose of 3,200 milligrams.
- Betaine anhydrous (2,000mg), or trimethylglycine (TMG), is an ergogenic aid that boosts athletic performance by increasing ATP production and improving mitochondrial respiration, acting as a potent methyl donor that helps regulate homocysteine levels and reduce cardiovascular disease risk. Additionally, as an osmolyte, it enhances cellular hydration, contributing to improvements in strength, endurance, power, and body composition, with notable gains in muscle and reductions in body fat observed in studies.
-
Pink himalayan salt (500mg) is added to the Fresh Pre formula to provide electrolyte support, especially sodium, which is crucial for muscle function, performance, and recovery, and is lost significantly through sweat during intense workouts. Although its inclusion is modest at 100 milligrams (equating to about 200 milligrams of sodium), it’s important for those monitoring their sodium intake, especially considering research indicating that optimal cardiovascular health is associated with a daily sodium intake of 3,000 to 5,000 milligrams.
- S7 (50mg) is a nitric-oxide-boosting blend of seven botanical extracts rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, including curcumin, catechins, and polyphenols, proven to increase serum nitric oxide levels by 270% in clinical studies. Its ingredients, like green coffee bean extract, green tea extract, turmeric, tart cherry, blueberry, broccoli, and kale, offer various health benefits, such as enhanced vascular response, fat breakdown, inflammation reduction, muscle recovery acceleration, and improved arterial health, making it an effective supplement for exercise and overall well-being.
- Taurine (1,000mg), increasingly popular in supplements, enhances athletic endurance, cellular hydration, mitochondrial respiration, and combats oxidative stress, with a 1,000-milligram dose significantly boosting endurance pre-exercise. It also mimics the neurotransmitter GABA, aiding in cognitive health by supporting new mitochondrial production in brain cells, protecting against stress, and enhancing dopamine production, thereby improving focus and motivation during workouts.
-
L-tyrosine (500mg) is valued in pre-workout supplements for supporting thyroid function, crucial for athletic performance, fat loss, and muscle building, and for maintaining optimal thyroid function during intense workouts and calorie restriction. Additionally, it serves as a precursor for neurotransmitters like dopamine, adrenaline, and noradrenaline, enhancing focus, motivation, and mental energy, and has been studied for its anti-stress and wakefulness-promoting effects, especially in sleep-deprived situations.
- Caffeine anhydrous (300mg), a methylxanthine stimulant that crosses the blood-brain barrier, influences the central nervous system, enhancing mood, focus, and athletic performance by decreasing fatigue and increasing alertness. It boosts cellular metabolism by inhibiting phosphodiesterase, thereby increasing fat burning and improving physical work capacity in strength, speed, power, and endurance, while also enhancing cognitive functions like attention and memory.
- CognatiQ (100mg), formerly known as NeuroFactor, is a widely used supplement ingredient consisting of a coffee fruit extract that increases the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), essential for neurogenesis and neuroplasticity, particularly in the hippocampus, which is involved in memory formation. Elevated BDNF levels are neuroprotective and can decrease the risk of various neurological diseases, with a 100-milligram dose in Fresh Pre shown to increase BDNF production by 150%, enhancing the beneficial effects of exercise on BDNF production.
- Vitashure (100mg) caffeine is a slow-release form that provides the usual benefits of caffeine but with a more gradual absorption and energy release, leading to a smoother energy curve with less abrupt initial effects and a more gentle tapering off. Combining it with caffeine anhydrous in supplements like Fresh Pre offers both immediate energy and sustained release, but with a high total caffeine content of 360 milligrams per serving, it should be used cautiously and under medical advice.
- AstraGin (50mg), a patented bioavailability enhancer from NuLiv Science, supports the production of adenosine triphosphate in intestinal cells, thereby increasing their capacity to absorb food and nutrients from the digestive tract, making it effective in enhancing the efficacy of other ingested ingredients. Regular use of AstraGin may also contribute to improved long-term intestinal health.

A cold tasting flavor?
Fresh Supps Pre is a robust pre-workout. With generous doses of citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine, taurine, tyrosine, and more, you’re sure to be firing on all cylinders with two scoops of Yeti Berry.
The caffeine content is nothing to sneeze at either. With a total of 360 milligrams of caffeine, it’s not a light pre-workout. That equates to more than three cups of coffee in one go – which means you’ll certainly be feeling it.
This time, though, the most interesting thing about the product is the flavor. Yeti Berry is unique and satisfying – while it may seem counterintuitive, it tastes all the better when the weather outside is frightful.
