The True GRIT product line

As you can see from the image (click it for a close-up), every product says “University ested Ingredients” – we hope the doses do indeed back that up.

They’ll be releasing the following:

  • True GRIT PRE

A max-potency pre workout supplement that contains NitroSigine arginine silicate, beta alanine, betaine, and more.

We were first to break the news about arginine silicate in 2013, and are happy to finally see a few more products that have it.

Betaine was one of the hottest products of 2014, after research studies performed on trained athletes yielded incredible gains in both size and strength.[1] And we all know that beta alanine is a great muscle endurance booster for nearly any sport.

Each serving has 175mg caffeine. See the store prices below for more details.

  • True GRIT Protein

Most importantly, it includes 50% micellar whey, which is a patented, heat treated form of whey protein that has very few products on the market.

This could be due to the fact that the process for creating it (via heat treatment) is patented[2].  The innovation here is that the protein has a stable and neutral pH range, keeping it very thermally stable and soluble… but it’s a bigger molecule that takes longer to break down.

So it seems that it will be a “sustained release”, slow-digesting type of whey protein, a best of both worlds between whey’s amino acid profile and casein’s amino acid release timing.

Again, this is 50% of the product — the other half is whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, whey protein isolate 97%, and whey protein hydrolysate (not sure in what percentages).

  • True GRIT POST

    True GRIT

Cool branding, to say the least

Dosed to the max with betaine, creatine, tart cherry, and more.

The betaine / creatine combination is becoming quite a popular one.  The one issue is that they may have similar mechanisms of action, so their effects may not fully synergize. But either way, both of these are cost-effective enough that it’s silly not to use them both at this point, so this should be a good product for athletes.

    Tart cherry?

As far as the tart cherry goes, you’ll have to wait until our POST analysis, but at least one study shows that it assists in recovery by increasing total antioxidative capacity, reducing inflammation, and aiding in muscle function recovery.[3] We’ll be sure to find more.

  • True GRIT T-Booster

A natural testosterone booster with boron, shilajit, withania somnifera (ashwagandha), and more.

If you’re a regular reader on this blog, you’ll by now recognize that ashwagandha is quite the hot supplement. It’s traditionally been used as a mood-enhancer and anti-stress compound, but research is also showing the ability to increase testosterone in certain individuals.

This is a product we’ll scrutinize most heavily, because there are simply too many “testosterone boosting products” that don’t even come close to boosting test. So far, for what we’re seeing, this is a good start for a natural product.

  • True GRIT Thermo

A capsule-based fat burner that’s bringing something new to the table, in the form of ingredient ophiopogon. We’ll have more research on this soon!

To be quite honest, most of the products released in the past 6 months have all seemed quite similar, so we’re happy for something — anything — new here (and yes, they delivered – click the link above to read about it!)

  • True GRIT Multivitamin

We assume this will be a multivitamin for men. We don’t have any info on this one either, but hope it’s something in the vein of Vita JYM, which was extremely well formulated.
