SIXSTAR Kellogg’s Froot Loops Protein Shake: Insane Cereal Taste in an RTD!

SIXSTAR is a brand that appeals to large swaths of consumers through its widespread distribution at massive retailers like Walmart and Sam’s Club. Despite its mass appeal, SIXSTAR and its parent company, Iovate, are not ones to cut corners – the same keen attention to details and ingredients that we find in Iovate’s other brands – such as MuscleTech – is present in SIXSTAR as well.

This mass appeal has another advantage, too: collaborations with mega-popular brands like Kellogg. Last year, SIXSTAR and Kellogg’s released Froot Loops and Frosted Flakes flavors of Whey Protein Plus.

Recently, the duo has made a return with a new Froot Loops flavored Protein RTD.

While powders are great, they’re not as convenient as pre-mixed drinks that are ready for consumption right off the shelves. There has been a major trend in recent years of brands releasing bottled protein shakes for athletes on the go, and SIXSTAR is no exception.

The Froot Loops Protein RTD is smooth, creamy, and tastes astonishingly like the real breakfast cereal we know and love.

We’re going to dive into how SIXSTAR Protein RTD works, but first, let’s check PricePlow for good SIXSTAR deals, and check out our video review of the new flavor:

SIXSTAR Protein RTD: Ingredients and Nutrition Facts

Six Star Protein Shake Ingredients

Each shake contains the following:

Protein Blend

The 30 grams of protein in the Protein RTD come from milk protein concentrate, which contains both the whey and casein factions. Typically, milk protein concentrate registers at 80% whey and 20% casein, which makes it predominantly whey with a boost of casein that adds thickness and texture to the blend.

Whey protein is, of course, the most popular form of supplemental protein on the market, due in large part to its status as a complete protein – meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids.[1] Additionally, it is highly bioavailable[2] and is strongly associated with strength and muscle gain.[3-6]
