Pre-Kaged Elite Has Two New Flavors: Orange Mango and Caribbean Sunrise

We’ve been covering Kaged for a long time, and it only keeps getting better. In the last eight years, we’ve written about some truly awesome formulas from the Kaged team, which started with the original Pre-Kaged but now includes last year’s release of Pre-Kaged Elite.

This year, we celebrated the release of the awesome new nootropic formula, Kaged Mindset, with Brian Rand on Episode #81 of the Podcast, and it’s shaping up to be another great year for Kaged. Last year they also introduced a Glacier Grape Pre-Kaged Elite flavor.

And now, we get two awesome new flavors of Pre-Kaged Elite: Orange Mango and Caribbean Sunrise.

Pre-Kaged Elite Orange Mango Caribbean Sunrise

Two new flavors of Pre-Kaged Elite are out in early 2023: Orange Mango and Caribbean Sunrise. Winter’s officially over by Kaged’s standards!

For Kaged, winter is over: Orange Mango and Caribbean Sunrise are here

We’ve written about the Pre-Kaged Elite formula a couple times before. It’s a densely-packed concoction of the most science-backed pre-workout ingredients on the market. With a whopping 10 grams of citrulline (see that link to understand why 10 grams is used), over 4 grams of creatine, added nitrates beyond that citrulline dose, and 388 milligrams of caffeine, Pre-Kaged Elite is a pre-workout for athletes that take fitness seriously.

To get ready for the warm weather, Kaged just released two new flavors for Pre-Kaged Elite: Orange Mango and Caribbean Sunrise. Clearly, Kaged disagrees with groundhogs everywhere and has predicted an early arrival of Spring.

So in anticipation of spring break, you owe it to yourself to hit the gym hard and get in perfect beach shape. There’s no more serious aid to this endeavor than Pre-Kaged Elite.

We’re going to dive into a little summary on how Pre-Kaged Elite works, but first, let’s check the PricePlow for good Kaged deals, and check out our video review of the new flavors:

Let’s briefly talk about how Pre-Kaged Elite works:

  • Pump & Performance

    • L-citrulline

10 Grams of Citrulline in Pre-Kaged Elite

10 grams of L-citrulline in Pre-Kaged Elite?! The article linked here discusses why.

Kaged has included 10 grams of L-citrulline in their Pre-Kaged Elite pre-workout supplement, which is double the amount found in the original Pre-Kaged. Researchers suggest that a dose of 10 grams of L-citrulline is optimal for clinical use,[1] as more than 10 grams does not significantly increase the amount of L-arginine, a precursor to nitric oxide, in the body.

Pre-Kaged Elite’s high dose of L-citrulline can lead to improved blood flow, nutrient delivery, and muscle pumps, and has other benefits such as increased ATP production and better post-workout recovery.

You can read more about the research behind this dose in our article titled 10 Grams of Citrulline?! Why Pre-Kaged Elite Goes Big and Competitors Go Home.

    • Beta alanine (as Carnosyn) (3200mg)

      Pre-Kaged Elite Ingredients

The Pre-Kaged Elite Ingredients. This is no joke. Are you ready for the workout of your life?!

Beta alanine is an amino acid that can enhance endurance by increasing carnosine production, which can buffer muscle lactic acid and delay fatigue. It combines with l-histidine to create carnosine, and is considered semi-controversial because it can cause a harmless tingling sensation known as paresthesia.

    • Creatine monohydrate (as CreaClear) (3000mg)

CreaClear is a form of creatine monohydrate supplement encapsulated with a milk protein to improve bioavailability and prevent early breakdown. CreaClear is unique because it can last much longer in water and stay stable in the gut long enough to get it further down the digestive tract.

Creatine has many well-established benefits such as increased power, easier weight gain, lean muscle mass gains, improved sprint speed, better hydration, lower fatigue, and better overall well-being. The recommended daily dosage is 3-5 grams per day.

You can also buy CreaClear separately – there’s some really cool information dug up from its patent shown in that article.

    • Creatine Nitrate (NO3-T) – 2000mg

Creatine nitrate is a supplement that contains both creatine and nitrate, providing 1.35 grams of creatine and 650 milligrams of nitrate. Nitrate is unique in that it is metabolized into nitrite, which then converts to nitric oxide, a molecule that promotes better blood flow and improved athletic performance.

Creatine nitrate has been shown to significantly increase bench press power, leg strength, and endurance on leg press. It also has a positive safety profile. Using creatine nitrate in combination with a high dose of citrulline can further amplify the pump effects and provide additional benefits for training.

  • Power & Burn

    • Betaine anhydrous (as BetaPower) – 2500mg

      Betaine Benefits

The placebo effect started strong with this group. But… the real gains obliterated placebo in due time with betaine![2]

Betaine, also known as trimethylglycine, is an osmolytic ingredient that regulates fluid levels across cells and helps protect them from heat shock, increasing cellular strength. Betaine has been demonstrated to improve performance in athletes for many years.

In 2013, a study demonstrated that a 2.5-gram daily dose of betaine, like the one included in Kaged’s Power & Burn blend, led to significant fat loss and lean mass gain when paired with an intense training program.[2]

    • Carnipure (L-carnitine tartrate) – 1500mg

L-Carnitine is an amino acid that helps transport fatty acids to the mitochondria for energy production. While the body can produce L-carnitine from lysine and methionine, athletes and those who don’t consume enough may become deficient. L-carnitine supplementation has been shown to improve athletic performance, increases blood flow, boosts oxygen uptake, and helps with recovery.

  • Cellular Hydration & ATP Amplifier

    • Taurine – 2000mg

      Taurine Endurance

Taurine’s effect on endurance, with success in doses anywhere from 1 gram to 6 grams.[3]

Taurine is a complementary ingredient to betaine. Taurine, like betaine, helps with water balance in the body, improves calcium signaling, reduces oxidative stress, and enhances fat digestion. The supplement can increase athletic endurance with a two-gram dose, according to a 2018 meta-analysis.[4]

Taurine also has cognitive benefits and can support nitric oxide production. A 2021 study titled “The Role of Taurine in Mitochondria Health: More Than Just an Antioxidant” covers taurine’s various uses and mechanisms and cites 250 studies.[3]

    • Coconut fruit water powder – 500mg

Adding to the hydration benefits of betaine and taurine, Pre-Kaged Elite includes coconut water powder, which serves as a source of electrolytes and helps with hydration. Research has shown that coconut water is just as effective as some sports drinks when it comes to hydration. Additionally, coconut water powder provides more potassium compared to other electrolyte formulas.

    • elevATP – 150mg

ElevATP is a distinctive substance created from apple extract and ancient peat. The ingredient is named after its capacity to improve ATP levels, as well as enhance strength and power levels.

  • Energy & Focus

    • L-tyrosine (2500mg)

      Kaged Mindset

The long-awaited Kaged Mindset has landed, and it’s been well worth the wait. There’s a caffeine and caffeine-free option, and a couple new ingredients including Cereboost inside.

L-tyrosine has been shown to boost the production of high-energy neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine, which in turn stimulates the sympathetic nervous system. L-tyrosine is also beneficial for cognitive performance, even in times of sleep deprivation or stress. The dosage of L-tyrosine in Pre-Kaged Elite is higher than the usual recommended minimum of 500 milligrams and even exceeds the typical 1-gram dose.

    • Caffeine (388mg)

One scoop of Pre-Kaged Elite contains a high dose of caffeine at 388 milligrams from natural sources PurCaf and AmaTea. While the dose is large, the inclusion of vasodilation agents and anecdotal evidence suggests a reduced stimulant effect and less of a crash.

Caffeine works by inhibiting sleep-inducing adenosine, leading to better cognitive and physical performance, and caffeine doses of 5 to 6 milligrams per kilogram of body weight can cause significant strength increases. The total caffeine yield in Pre-Kaged Elite is 388 milligrams, with the majority coming from PurCaf.

    • Alpha-GPC (300mg)

Alpha-GPC is a high-bioavailability choline source that increases acetylcholine levels to support cognitive functions and improve muscle function. Choline intake is crucial for cognitive outcomes, and studies have shown that low choline intake is associated with deteriorated cognitive outcomes.

To ensure quality, Kaged Muscle uses AlphaSize, a well-trusted form of alpha-GPC, which has been proven to be effective and free of impurities. And if you like choline, you can add more with the Kaged Mindset nootropic — although when stacking with Pre-Kaged Elite, you’ll likely want to go with the caffeine-free version of it!

    • AmaTea (100mg)

      Team Kaged Nootropic Podcast Launch

Brian Rand and Team Kaged join the PricePlow Discord to talk about the Mindset Nootropic launch for PricePlow Podcast Episode #081!

Ilex Guayusa is a natural source of xanthines, flavonoids, and chlorogenic acids, and also contains ursolic acid, which may help improve body recomposition and increase insulin sensitivity. Kaged Muscle claims that Ilex Guayusa provides 20 milligrams of caffeine out of the total 388 milligrams.

    • Huperzia serrata (1% huperzine A) (10mg)

Huperzine A, derived from Huperzia serrata extract, helps prevent the breakdown of the acetylcholine generated by alpha-GPC. Acetylcholinesterase is an enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine, but Huperzine A is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor that slows down this process. As a result, Huperzine A helps to enhance cognitive function and promote neurogenesis.

    Getting in beach-ready shape

2022 was a year of new beginnings at Kaged. They underwent a branding overhaul; they shed their old Kaged Muscle branding and became, simply, Kaged. We had on Michael McClane and Darin Decker for episode #058 of the PricePlow Podcast, where we discussed the new direction for Kaged.

    This year’s looking even better.

Sitting on the beach sipping fruity mixed drinks sounds like a great time, but it isn’t the most advisable regular practice for those who take their performance seriously. For the athlete looking for function as well as aesthetics, you have to sub in some of that day-drinking for good, intense gym time.

Thanks to Kaged, you can still pretend you’re partying on the beach while you hit 3 sets of 12 on the bench press. There is no better way to start the day than dissolving some caribbean sunrise mania-powder into a shaker bottle and getting that volume in.
