NutraBio Whey Protein Isolate: Certified Clean by Stack3d!

NutraBio Whey Protein Isolate

NutraBio’s Whey Protein Isolate is the latest protein to be certified by Stack3d as meeting label claims and containing no free form amino acids.

NutraBio is a supplement company that may be new to many users in the online bodybuilding forum communities, but they’ve been around for quite a while and are primed to make big waves in the market. We’ve previously covered their outstanding pre workout, PRE Extreme.

The one thing we’ve always liked about NutraBio is how they produce completely open formula supplements – even disclosing the amount of flavoring, sweeteners, and thickeners used in their products!

And now, they have some third party lab tests to back it up:

The major news is about their 100% Whey Protein Isolate, which has recently passed Stack3d’s certification program.[1]

About Stack3d’s Certification Program

If you’re unfamiliar with the Stack3d Certification Program, it’s a way for users to see which protein powders definitely live up to label claims about protein content. Stack3d started the program to protect consumers from purchasing a lesser quality powder that may be involved in amino acid spiking.

What basically happens is that Stack3d purchases a tub of protein powder from a random retailer, just like any other consumer would, and ships it directly to a lab for testing.

After testing is completed, Stack3d then posts the results, which confirms whether or not the protein listed on the label actually is in the powder and whether or not any free form amino acids have been added.

NutraBio Whey Protein Isolate Results

NutraBio’s Isolate lists 28.19g of high quality, cold pressed, micro and ultra filtered Whey Protein Isolate, a.k.a. the highest quality whey protein around.[2] This should yield 25g of protein in each scoop.

According to the test results, NutraBio DOES live up to label claims, as the tests show each scoop contains 25.78g dry basis and 24.54g as is. The tests also confirm there are no added free form amino acids either as our social media fans can see in the PDF attached below, courtesy of Stack3d.

The flavor tested was the dutch chocolate one, but this test should apply to every other flavor, assuming they use the same raw material whey isolate for each flavor, and just change the flavor systems.

Macronutrient Breakdown:

NutraBio Whey Protein Isolate Dutch Chocolate Ingredients

Not only does NutraBio list exactly how much and what kind of protein goes into their powders, they also provide the exact breakdown of what goes into the flavoring.

One of the outstanding attributes of NutraBio’s product is complete transparency, which not only includes the protein breakdown, but also of their flavoring, sweeteners, and thickening agents in each protein!

Here, we just have to worry about Whey Protein Isolate, of which there are 28g, as we’ve already stated above. The breakdown for the Dutch Chocolate flavor, which is the one tested is as follows:

  • Calories: 110
  • Protein: 25g
  • Fat: 0.5g
  • Carbohydrates: 2g
  • Fiber: 1g

Flavors & Sizes Available:

NutraBio’s Isolate is available in a BUNCH of flavors, more than we’ve seen with other brands isolates:

  • Unflavored
  • Vanilla
  • Wild Strawberry
  • Banana
  • Orange Cream
  • Chocolate Mint
  • Cinnamon Bun
  • Cappuccino
  • Dutch Chocolate

You can find any or all of these flavors in 2,5, or 15 lb tubs!

The unflavored tub obviously has the cleanest profile, but that of course comes at the lack of good taste.

Our Thoughts

NutraBio’s Isolate is the latest high quality, name brand company that has passed 3rd party verification testing. This is a growing trend in the industry and something we frankly couldn’t be happier about. We can only hope this trend continues and more companies willingly come forward and have their powders tested.

The dutch chocolate flavor is currently our favorite, followed by cinnamon bun flavor. But don’t expect cinnamon bun to be nearly as strong as its competition – it’s definitely a light cinnamon.

This protein also has a 100% all natural version, whose flavors are sweetened with stevia. This makes them a touch more bitter than their sucralose-sweetened counterparts, but it’s definitely better than most other naturally sweetened powders we’ve tried!
