MuscleSport Lean Way Plant’D Protella & Chocolate Ice Cream Flavors

MuscleSport’s Lean Whey protein powder has become downright legendary in the industry. Just last month, MuscleSport released a Banana Foster Waffle Sundae flavor, which is as sinfully delectable as it sounds, and then followed up with a wildly-delicious Carrot Cake flavor.

In a sea of indistinguishable protein products, Lean Whey manages to find itself standing above the rest due in large part to two critical factors: its absorption-enhancing Fat Metabolizing Matrix, and its delicious, decadent flavors.

Unfortunately for those following a plant-based diet, they don’t get to share in the routine Lean Whey flavor drops. Whey, after all, is an animal product. Don’t worry, though, because MuscleSport has another product aimed at the plant-based athlete: Lean Way Plant’D, which has a phenomenal Blueberry Cobbler flavor.

But even better, Plant’d just got two rich new flavors.

Lean Way Plant’D: Chocolate Ice Cream and Protella

Built on plant-based protein sources like pea protein, brown rice protein, and sacha inchi, Lean Way Plant’D is able to get as close as possible to the power of whey – without the whey.

On April 12th, MuscleSport released two new flavors of Plant’D: Chocolate Ice Cream and Protella, an official collaboration with a product that can best be described as a higher-protein “Nutella” – with all of the rich creaminess that entails.

We’re going to dive into how MuscleSport Plant’D works, but first, let’s check PricePlow for good MuscleSport deals, and check out our video review of the new flavor:

MuscleSport Plant’D – How It Works

As the plant-based counterpart to MuscleSport’s Lean Whey, Plant’D caters to athletes on a plant based diet while retaining what makes Lean Whey special: a Fat Metabolizing Matrix. Here’s a quick rundown of the formula:

Lean Whey Matrix

Whereas Lean Whey relies on the industry standard whey protein (in multiple different forms), Plant’D contains a complex of the following plant-based proteins

MuscleSport Lean Way Plant'd Chocolate Ice Cream Ingredients

  • Pea protein isolate: one of the only plant-derived protein sources that is considered complete, meaning it contains sufficient amounts of all nine essential amino acids. It has demonstrated similar effectiveness to whey protein for building muscle mass.
  • Brown rice protein concentrate: contains a nice dose of methionine and branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), which have demonstrated effectiveness at supporting muscle protein synthesis.
  • Sacha Inchi: derived from a shrub found in the Peruvian Amazon, and contains a full blend of essential amino acids. In addition, Sacha Inchi contains omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, vitamin A, vitamin E, and even fiber.

Lean Way Fat Metabolizing Matrix

Similar to Lean Whey, Plant’D contains its own Fat Metabolizing Matrix, with a few tweaks:

  • Agave Inulin Fiber: helps promote proper bowel function and stool formation.
  • MCTs: medium-chain triglycerides have a large body of research establishing their ability to improve gut flora composition, and therefore digestion as a whole.
  • Konjac Root Extract: derived from a root vegetable grown in Asia, konjac has been used as a traditional medicine for centuries due to its role in lowering cholesterol and improvement in carbohydrate metabolism.
  • L-Carnitine Tartrate: facilitates the movement of fatty acids into the cells, where they are converted into adenosine triphosphate (ATP)
  • CLA: conjugated linoleic acid is a group of omega-6 fats that helps support fat loss while retaining muscle mass by increasing the metabolic rate and inhibiting the lipoprotein lipase (LPL) enzyme.
  • Vitamin B12: crucial for red blood cell synthesis, and therefore energy level maintenance.

    Flavor love for plant lovers

If there’s one thing MuscleSport excels at above all else, it’s flavoring. It seems like every other week they’re releasing a new creative flavor of Lean Whey or CarniShred, and they never disappoint.

While Lean Whey gets most of the love, MuscleSport decided it was time for the plant-lovers among us to enjoy the fruits of their labor. The Protella flavor is rich, creamy, and just what the doctor ordered following a tough workout.

In addition, you can rest easy knowing that all of that powder will be put to good use with the Metabolizing Matrix.
