It’s official! Shawn has signed with ProSupps!
The Arnold Sports Festival is only a few weeks away, and no time of year is busier around the bodybuilding and supplement industry. We’re flooded with an endless stream of new product announcements and major new stories – but this one is the first major story of 2017:
We’re happy to inform you that Shawn “Flexatron” Rhoden has signed with ProSupps, after ending his partnership with Scitec Nutrition back in February 2015. ProSupps has been on a tear lately, much of it powered by their insanely-great-tasting MyBar protein bars (see our MyBar review on YouTube) and a lot more great products supposedly on the way.
Shawn is the 2015 Mr. Olympia Runner-Up and is looking to take it all the way with ProSupps. Previously, Rhoden was with the Ronnie Coleman Signature Series and VPX Sports.
Flexatron goes on the record
In ProSupps’ press release, Shawn stated the following:
“I have watched TJ and Ike start their business from the very beginning. I was attracted to their hustle and the drive; it aligns perfectly with the work I am eager to put in to win the Olympia this year.”
“Prosupps is the brand that every distributor all around the globe is talking about and I have always loved their products. I can’t wait to get started.”
— Shawn Rhoden
Expect to see more from Shawn: The ProSupps Flexatron World Tour
While the terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, the big word is that ProSupps will be hosting a “Flexatron World Tour” where you should get a chance to meet the next sensation in bodybuilding. They will also put out plenty of video content leading up to the 2017 Olympia, as well as some new apparel for fans.
ProSupps Speaks out
TJ Humphreys, owner of ProSupps, also went on the record:
“I have known Shawn for a number of years, and having been a former bodybuilder, his physique is undeniably the most aesthetic physique that graces the stage. Shawn and Ike, my VP of Sales and partner, connected early on and it was very clear what Shawn was looking for. We couldn’t be happier to have Shawn bleeding ‘Red and Black’.”
— TJ Humphreys, ProSupps owner
Truth be told, it’s only been recently since we started using any ProSupps products, but we can tell this brand is surging hard – a lot of it is thanks to the Mr. Hyde pre workout franchise, but you can’t deny this MyBar gaining traction on all of the protein bar competitors! Hopefully Shawn enjoys these while he’s in bulking phase!
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a top-tier bodybuilder part ways with a notable brand though. Just last year, both Phil Heath and Dexter Jackson left their previous sponsorships to join Ultimate Nutrition. Interestingly enough, the two brands Heath and Jackson both left (Gifted Nutrition and Blade Nutrition, respectively) haven’t done a whole lot since the split.
What we’re getting at here is that a big name departure can have some serious negative consequences for the brand their leaving, but, more importantly, the brand that lands Rhoden stands to gain a tremendous amount!
