The Harness Evolution formula certainly lives up to its name. This thing is packed – filled to the brim with gigantic doses of beta alanine, betaine, tyrosine, and ~400mg total caffeine. It’s not exactly a forever daily driver (unless you’ve got a pretty good budget), but rather something to pound when you really need to hit the gym like an animal.

We must admit, the thought of a pepper-infused flavor in a pre-workout struck us as risky at first glance. Go too big, and everyone’s going home. But the more you think about it, the more it makes sense. Harness Evolution is meant to get you juiced up. Hype, as the kids say.
And this shouldn’t be a surprise, after their insanely successful fall 2022 Apple Pie Moonshine launch in four different supplements!
So what better taste-mode is there to achieve that goal than a hint of spice? We’ve seen it before, and it’s interesting when not overdone. And that’s the case here with ARN, who didn’t go overboard. So don’t worry, it’s not a savory pre-workout – you still get all of the sweetness of the margarita notes, with just the right amount of kick.

ARN Harness Evolution – How It Works

- Beta-alanine (6,400mg) is converted into carnosine, which helps muscles remove lactic acid and delay fatigue during exercise. Beta-alanine supplementation is more effective than histidine supplementation (the other precursor to carnosine) in increasing carnosine levels because it is better absorbed. The big story here is the “double dose”, which should get you to carnosine saturation faster.
- L-citrulline (6,000mg) is a common ingredient in pre-workout supplements due to its effectiveness in increasing nitric oxide (NO) levels in the body. Nitric oxide triggers vasodilation, leading to improved circulation and better athletic performance and recovery.
- Betaine anhydrous (2,500mg), also known as trimethylglycine (TMG), is an ergogenic aid and osmolyte that can improve athletic performance by increasing cellular energy supply and cellular hyperhydration. Betaine donates methyl groups to boost ATP production, which increases cellular energy supply, and increases osmotic pressure, which forces water into cells, leading to cellular hyperhydration.
- L-tyrosine (2,000mg) supports thyroid function, is required for the synthesis of catecholamine neurotransmitters, and is a better wakefulness-promoting supplement than caffeine.
- Nitrosigine (1,500mg) has been shown to have cognitive benefits by improving blood flow to the brain and preventing temporary cognitive impairment following intense exercise. The inositol molecule in Nitrosigine also has some interesting benefits, such as increasing dopamine and serotonin production and maintaining cellular membranes in the brain.

- SantEnergy Nu (400mg) is an extract of yerba santa, a plant native to California and Oregon with various colloquial names. Yerba santa can upregulate thermogenesis and increase the body’s rate of caloric expenditure, making it helpful for accelerating weight loss and improving body composition.
- Caffeine Blend (405mg yield) is composed of both caffeine anhydrous, as well as zumXR, a slower-absorbing form of caffeine that helps to smooth out the stimulant effects of Harness.
- VasoDrive-AP (254mg), a combination of two tripeptide proteins – isoleucyl-prolyl-proline (IPP) and valyl-prolyl-proline (VPP) – is an effective ingredient for improving circulation and reducing blood pressure and is often used in conjunction with citrulline and Nitrosigine for enhanced nitric oxide boosting.
- Citicoline (250mg) is a highly absorbable type of choline that the body requires for building and maintaining cellular membranes. Choline is critical to the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter essential for memory and learning, and citicoline stands out from other choline sources in that it can boost mental energy, focus, and attention as well as dopamine levels.
- ElevATP (150mg) is a mixture of peat moss and apple extracts that can enhance extracellular ATP levels, leading to optimal metabolic processes. Although it doesn’t contain ATP, it contains many compounds that support ATP production, which is crucial as ATP is your body’s usable energy.
- CognatiQ (100mg), formerly known as NeuroFactor, is an extract of coffee fruit that supports neurogenesis, the growth of new neurons, and connections between existing neurons through brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) upregulation.
- Huperzia serrata extract (20mg) provides huperzine A, which functions as an antioxidant, protecting neurons’ mitochondria from oxidative stress and increasing hippocampal neurogenesis. In addition, it inhibits the breakdown of acetylcholine by acetylcholinesterase.

Cinco de Mayo is a time to party – and get ready for the upcoming summer. There’s no law that you have to restrict the party to the clubs, though. You might as well throw it in your gym bag and have a pre-workout cocktail before beating your bench PR.
