MPA Supps Pharmgrade: Matt Porter Annihilates the BCAA Category

MPA Supps PharmGrade

Matt Porter and MPA Supps aren’t playing any games in the supplement industry. PharmGrade is a serious amino acid / intra workout supplement for only the most intense lifters.

WARNING: Matt Porter’s putting together some monster supplements!

Recently, we covered MPA Supps massively over-dosed pump-infusing, stimulant-free pre workout Celluvol in all its vein-swelling glory, and that got us to looking at some of the other unique formulas designed by Matt Porter.

Well Celluvol wasn’t just a one-hit wonder – this man does not mess around. MPA Supps has also released an equally mammoth sized amino-surging, mTOR-stimulating intra workout supplement titled PharmGrade, and it puts nearly every other BCAA supplement label to shame.

Pharmgrade Ingredients

Matt Porter and MPA Supps aren’t playing any games here with Pharmgrade, it provides everything you need, and then some, to support and drive muscle protein synthesis during any training session you might encounter.

  • BCAAs 2:1:1 (12g)

    MPA Supps PharmGrade Ingredients

Just take a look at that label! PharmGrade is a massive amino acid supplement!

    Holy mTOR Batman!

Pharmgrade contains one of the largest doses of 2:1:1 BCAAs we’ve seen in an amino product. Each serving provides 6g Leucine, 3g Isoleucine, and 3g Valine! This certainly will stimulate the mTOR pathway in the body[1], igniting protein synthesis, and keeping you anabolic even during the most taxing training sessions.

The hefty dose of BCAAs will also help to spark recovery and prevent delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) following your gym-time thrashing.[2,3,4]

OK, so that’s over twice the dose of most competitors, but what else?

  • Coconut Juice Powder (3g)

The inclusion of coconut water in Pharmgrade is a no-brainer; it’s rich in potassium, which supports hydration and restores electrolyte balance[5] — two attributes that deplete rapidly during intense training. The hydration and electrolyte insurance helps avoid unpleasant side effects such as muscle cramping and dehydration, which can severely hinder your performance.

We’ve seen coconut water a time or two before in other pre / intra workouts, but never at such a tremendous dose. Usually we see 250-500mg, but MPA Supps clearly knows what’s up, and includes a heaping 3g to support even the sweatiest lifters out there.

Now it’s time for the secret weapon:

  • Mediator® 50P (1600mg)

    Mediator Phosphatidic Acid Logo

Mediator is a patented, standardized form of phosphatidic acid developed by Chemi Nutra.

Mediator® 50P is a patented form of phosphatidic acid that 50% Phosphatidic Acid (PA) by mass. In the 1600mg dose included in Pharmgrade, you’ll get 800mg Phosphatidic Acid.

PA is a phospholipid located in the membrane of cells involved in numerous cell-signaling processing, including one that fuels muscle growth. Recent research showed that incubating isolated muscle cells with PA induces elevated mTOR signaling, independent of IGF-1 signaling.[6]

Additional research on Mediator PA has shown that consuming at least 750mg / day PA can increase squat strength 12.7% and muscle mass by 2.6%![7]

    More from Matt

This marks the first time we can remember encountering PA in an amino acid / intra workout supplement. So we turned to the created of PharmGrade, Matt Porter, and inquired why he chose to include it:

”I wanted this product to be simple, yet unique by adding a newly researched ingredient called “Mediator PA” which is a top quality source of phosphatidic acid. This is a naturally occurring phospholipid from the company Chemi-Nutri.

It has been demonstrated to ignite protein synthesis via mTor signaling similar to Leucine , also displaying benefits in mitigating delayed onset muscle soreness and promoting muscle strength.”

  • L-Lysine (250mg)

    MPA Supps Stack

Armed with MPA Supps at your side, workouts never felt easier. See our CelluVOL post next!

Lysine is one of the nine essential amino acid required for protein synthesis. It’s also required for the production of carnitine — a compound that helps regulate cholesterol levels and convert fat into useable energy. More importantly, lysine also supports protein contruction, calcium absorption, injury healing.[8,9]

  • L-Phenylalanine (250mg)

Phenylalanine is a pre-precursor to several powerful neurotransmitters in the body. First, it’s converted to Tyrosine and then converted to epinephrine (adrenaline), norepinephrine (noradrenaline), and L-Dopa. These neurotransmitters serve to enhance energy and mood, both of which will are necessary during intense workouts.[10]

  • L-Threonine (250mg)

Another essential amino acid, Threonine is an ɑ-acid necessary for glycine and serine production, which are subsequently used to drive muscle protein synthesis (MPS) in the body.

  • L-Histidine (250mg)

    MPA Supps Team

This is no typical “celebrity” supplement line! Just wait til you see his Instagram…

Histidine is a precursor of histamine, a compound essential to cognitive functioning and wakefulness.[11] It’s also necessary for the development and maintenance of the myelin sheath — a substance that covers nerve cells and facilitates signal transmission from the brain to other areas of the body.

Additionally, histidine also constitutes the other half of beta alanine-histidine formula to create carnosine, a powerful intracellular buffer.[12] In order to fully reap the benefits of beta alanine (i.e. increased endurance and stamina), it’s crucial to also have adequate levels of Histidine.

  • L-Methionine (250mg)

Antioxidant support is crucial if you’re regularly engaged in high-intensity exercise, and Methionine is one of the most powerful antioxidants you can get. It effectively combats free radicals and also acts as a precursor to L-Taurine and L-Cysteine, both of which fuel performance.

On the Formula

”PharmGrade gives you a whopping grand total of 13 grams of Essential Amino Acids (EAAs) per serving. To make this product even more impressive, the quality is from fermented vegetarian sources produced by Ajinomoto (Ajipure), which is above 99% purity which can claim pharmaceutical grade quality.

I created PharmGrade because I personally want the very best nutrients in my body and if that means my cost is high, and my profits are lower than competitors, so be it. I know at the end of the day I am giving my consumer something they can trust, be proud of, and feel confident with all MPA SUPPS formulas since it’s personally being formulated by myself.

As if the huge amino profile wasn’t enough to turn heads, having the first-ever PA-based intra workout puts this on another level. And then Matt goes and doubles the clinical dose!

Good for Dieting OR Bulking!

Matt wasn’t done dropping knowledge bombs yet and had a few extra nuggets of gold about PharmGrade when we spoke to him recently:

”This product is diverse and can be used for dieting or gaining phases as an intra-workout drink.

For strict low carbohydrate dieting, you can simply use a serving and sip between each set of your workout session.

For mass gaining or if dieting and carbs are solely peri-workout (around training), you can add 25-100 grams of a high molecular weight carb powder of choice to PharmGrade and further augment anti-cortisol properties, boost cell swelling (pumps) and facilitate longer, higher volume training sessions .

Flavors Available

MPA Supps Pharmgrade is only available in one flavor currently — Watermelon Candy. Hopefully, as the brand continues to grow in size and popularity, we’ll be rewarded with additional flavors in the not too distant future.

One note is that in the above interview, Matt was still under the keto diet. He’s now shifted back to carbs – you can find out why by following his Instagram at @MattPorterApproved, which is highly recommended because of how open he is with his diet, training, and “other” experiments!
