Kaged Muscle Kasein: Feed Your Muscles For Hours

Kaged knows protein is a crucial macronutrient for recovery and muscle building, however some people struggle to get the daily recommended amount of 1.6g/kg-2.2g/kg of body weight through whole food alone.[1] You may have an insanely busy schedule that doesn’t allow for a full meal, or maybe you get sick of eating plain chicken and lean beef all day long and crave something sweet. That’s why Kaged developed several protein powders designed for different purposes to maximize recovery and performance.

PricePlow has already covered the two proteins designed for post-workout: Re-Kaged and MicroPure Whey Protein Isolate, both we were extremely impressed with the quality and taste. The whey isolate even made it into PricePlow’s Top 5 Whey Protein Isolates for 2019, which is saying a lot, since there are several fierce competitors on the market.

But now it’s time to cover one of the original products Kaged is most known for: Kasein! You can tell by the name, Kasein consists of pure micellar casein isolate, designed to provide amino acids to your muscles over an extended period of time. They don’t use any inferior forms of casein, such as sodium or calcium caseinate to bump up the protein content, but lower the quality.

Kasein was one of the first supplements Kaged came out with, which is extremely rare since most companies first choice is a whey protein. However, trying to find a casein protein that was high quality, delicious, and not gritty was nearly impossible! Therefore, Kris and formulator Brian Rand saw a huge opportunity, and spent a lot of time formulating one of the best caseins available.

In this post we’re going to give you all the details on Kaged Muscle’s Kasein, but before we do make sure to sign up to PricePlow Kaged news and deal alerts, because they’ve been having massive sales lately you don’t want to miss!

Kaged Muscle Kasein Macronutrients

If you take one sip of Kaged Muscle Kasein, you’ll notice it is unlike any other casein on the market. What gives it such great macros, taste, texture, and mixability?

Kaged Muscle Kasein Vanilla Supplement Facts

Kaged Muscle Vanilla Kasein tastes like a milkshake, but fuels recovery!

Kaged starts with obtaining the purest raw materials available, such as their Micropure Micellar Casein Isolate to create the best base possible. Then comes some added ingredients that create the outstanding flavor, but still keep the macros in check. Kasein is an incredibly clean and high-quality protein powder, which is exactly what you want when trying to reach your physique and performance goals!

Here’s what one serving of Kaged Muscle Kasein will deliver in order to feed your muscles for hours:

  • Calories: 120-130 (depending on flavor)
  • Fat: 0.5g
  • Carbs: 3g-4g (depending on flavor)
  • Sugar: 1g
  • Protein: 25g-26g (depending on flavor)

Note the different serving sizes and macronutrients per flavor

Casein originally launched in two flavors, Vanilla Shake and Chocolate Shake, both are incredibly delicious, but the flavor systems do change the macronutrients and serving sizes slightly. The Chocolate Shake is only 10 more calories than the vanilla, with 1g extra of both carbs and protein. A tub of vanilla will give you 27 servings (33.2g/serving), and a tub of chocolate provides 25 servings (35.6g/serving).

The reason the chocolate is a bit lower on the serving size is because it has some added cocoa to really deliver that rich taste. Therefore, in order to still have the same weight for both products, the serving size is lowered. So if you want a couple more servings then go with vanilla, whose taste is astounding anyway!

Now it’s time to see why Kasein is one of the best casein-based products available (if not the best), and it all starts with pure micellar casein isolate! It was formulated to be the ultimate anti-catabolic protein, which means it helps prevent muscle protein breakdown during long hours of not feeding.

The Power of Micellar Casein

Although, many people think whey protein is king and should be consumed anytime of day for maximum results, some research suggests otherwise.[2] A study done in 2019 found that ingesting ~40g of a high quality slow-digesting protein results in prolonged muscle protein synthesis, and is recommended when there’s a long period between feedings (5-6 hours).[2]

Whey protein is a great post workout option, since it’s rapidly digested and initiates muscle protein synthesis maximally.[2] However, if you’re serious about your recovery and performance, a slow-digesting protein source, like casein, should be included in your supplement regimen. It’s often taken before bed.

Micellar Casein Vs other forms

Kasein includes only Micropure Micellar Casein Isolate, and it’s third party tested for potency and purity. It’s also superior to other forms of casein, such as calcium caseinate and sodium casein, due to how it’s processed and manufactured.

The goal with any protein is to take a high quality raw material and create a powder without denaturing it. For instance, the competing calcium caseinate ingredient is made by using acid and heat to separate the protein molecules from skimmed milk, which creates an inferior product from what’s in Kasein.

Instead, Kaged Muscle Kasein starts by using raw milk casein, which is comprised of a complex group of protein clusters called micelles. The unwanted carbs, fats, and sugars are then filtered out by using low-temperature ceramic micro-filtration, which not only leaves behind nearly pure protein, it also preserves the micellar structure.

With Kaged, they never skimp on quality to cut costs, so know you’re getting the best product they can deliver every time.

Other Ingredients

In order to give Kasein a milkshake consistency and flavor, some extra ingredients must be added to the raw protein powder. Some key things to note, Kaged only uses natural flavors and colors, which shows how they’re dedicated to only using the best ingredient

A coconut creamer is used to add creaminess and help boost the flavor. They use sunflower lecithin to improve mixability, as opposed to soy! The gum blend adds thickness to create that milkshake consistency we all love. Finally, a blend of stevia and sucralose are the two sweeteners that bring everything together, while not adding any sugars. This is a very clean protein powder that tastes amazing, and is made to the highest standards.

Other Benefits of Kasein

If we haven’t convinced you why Kasein is one of the best proteins on the market, then maybe these extra benefits will!

Kasein is:

  • Kaged Muscle PIP Stack

    Kaged Muscle Kasein

Kaged Muscle’s Kasein is one of the best caseins on the market! (If not the best?!)

Kasein was one of the first products Kaged came out with, but they absolutely killed it. This is still one of their best sellers, and we can tell why. It’s important to realize that a slow-digesting protein can be used various times throughout the day to optimize muscle protein synthesis.

Whey protein initiates it, but casein keeps it going and that’s an epic combo. We suggest taking this protein before sleep or alongside a meal if you won’t be eating for a long period of time. You can even mix up a shake consisting of whey and casein for post workout to get amino acids fast, but have the response prolonged.

There are several applications for Kasein, and the taste really helps crush your cravings. It makes it easier to stay on track with your diet, while giving you something to look forward to! Kaged is always looking to improve their line of products to give you more options, so stay tuned because we know more flavors and supplements are on the way!
