Kaged Muscle Ferodrox: The HONEST Testosterone Booster

Kaged Muscle strikes AGAIN in 2018. After a quiet 2017, Kris Gethin and @KagedMuscleSupps have dropped absolute bombshell products like their Micropure Whey Isolate or even the natural-slanted Amino Synergy.

Kaged Muscle Ferodrox

Kaged Muscle Ferodrox is what they say it is – a fantastic testosterone support matrix in just two capsules per day!

Now the star-studded brand fronted by Kris Gethin and anchored by powerhouse formulator Brian Rand are targeting the testosterone booster market with a new product named Ferodrox. And this time, a member of Team PricePlow has been running it in anticipation of a bodybuilding event, so we have some anecdotal feedback to go along with our usual ingredient analysis.

What should we expect from Ferodrox?

Ferodrox sets out to be a scientifically proven testosterone optimizer. The best part, however, is that Kris and Kaged aren’t making unrealistic promises – unlike the rest of the natty test booster competition. Longtime followers of PricePlow will know we’re cautious when talking about these products. For those that are to the site, we recommend test boosters for adults in the thirties or above, people that may have lower-than-normal testosterone levels, or even those that are just looking for a slight libido and/or confidence boost.

Ferodrox may be the first product we’ve reviewed in the testosterone optimization field that knows exactly what it is. Kaged Muscle states that Ferodrox will: “help maintain testosterone within the normal healthy range”. Ferodrox’s labeling takes a different route than its competition as it seeks to protect your testosterone levels against natural fluctuations and not promise the world.

Why protect testosterone and control estrogen?

Testosterone levels can dip from stress, diet, or even lack of sleep. Ferodrox combats these negative fluctuations to ensure that you’re in an “optimal state” more often, and feel great to boot. The brand is also trying to win over the market with honesty and effective natural ingredients over false promises — a common theme over at Kaged Muscle. But let’s be real: honest and moral business practices have a lot of nasty competition when it comes to testosterone.

Do the ingredients live up to the chivalry? Let’s find out, but first, check out our Kaged Muscle news and deal alerts where you can sign up to learn about their new products, since they’ve been pounding them out in 2018:

Ferodrox Ingredients

Learn how a real natty test booster is formulated… and with just two capsules nonetheless:

  • L-OptiZinc (yielding 30mg, or 200% DV)

    Kaged Muscle Ferodrox Ingredients

The Kaged Muscle Ferodrox Ingredients bring four fully-dosed, patented ingredients in just two capsules

A zinc deficiency is one of the fastest and easiest ways to destroy your natural testosterone levels. Zinc is an essential mineral that the body cannot synthesize, so regular consumption is essential. Sadly, most Americans and athletes tend to not consume enough zinc.[1] Correcting a zinc deficiency can improve libido, boost testosterone to a healthy range, and even improve immune system functioning. It may boost IGF-1 levels considerably.[2]

Ferodrox uses a patented form of Zinc called L-OptiZinc, which is organically bound to methionine, an essential amino acid we love. Kaged Muscle claims the complex formed by zinc and methionine enhances absorption relative to other forms of zinc, and it’s actually been known since 1993 how well this combination works![16]

  • KSM-66 Ashwagandha (600mg)

    Kris Gethin Interview

In our latest interview with Kris Gethin, the Kaged Muscle founder talks about earning his residency on earth and leaving a legacy with Kaged Muscle!

Besides supporting healthy testosterone levels, Kaged Muscle designed Ferodrox to “maintain testosterone and cortisol ratios within the normal healthy range.” Ashwagandha is thrown into the formula to keep your cortisol and stress levels down. Since cortisol reduces testosterone levels when their ratio gets out of whack, lowering cortisol will ensure that your testosterone stays up year-round. Ashwagandha may also help those that have lower natural levels of testosterone get into the upper part of the healthy range.[3-4]

The best extract at the clinical dose

600mg is also a big dose – the clinical dose, in fact! While 300mg is effective, 600mg should almost definitely have you feeling the cortisol reduction benefits and then some. In addition, KSM-66 is likely the best extract they could have gone with as, it is well-studied and we’ve never had a single complaint about it.

  • LJ100 Eurycoma Longifolia Extract (200mg)

    Ferodrox

Testosterone crushed from age, lack of sleep, stress, or insane training? It’s time to bring it back with Ferodrox.

Longjack, also known as Eurycoma Longifolia and Tongkat Ali, is a natural ingredient you’ve likely seen before. We will only summarize its benefits in this post, but hop over to our tongkat ali mega-post if you want to do the deep dive!

Longjack is most commonly used as a libido and virility booster.[5,6]. Besides its sexual benefits, the herb (when properly extracted) maintains healthy levels of testosterone production. One studied even shown that it works similarly to TRT![5-9]

LJ100 is a patented Longjack extract that has much clout in the current industry. Tongkat Ali has been getting headlines for quite some time, but the wise minds in the supplement industry (which of course includes Kaged Muscle’s own Brian Rand) knew that the extracts were awfully inconsistent (and awful in general). That all ended when HP Ingredients finally got their act together and standardized on a solid constituents of constituents in LJ100.

Kaged Muscle made a wise move in waiting for a trusted ingredient like LJ100 to hit the market before coming out with Ferodrox.

  • PrimaVie Shilajit (200mg)

    Kaged Muscle Ferodrox Benefits

Benefits, patents, and dosage instructions above

Shilajit has recently become one of our favorite testosterone boosters for personal reasons discussed below. Obtained from sedimentary rocks in the Himalayan mountains, Shilajit is a popular treatment in ayurvedic tradition — the same tradition that brought the world Ashwagandha.

Shilajit works similarly to Longjack as far as its benefits are concerned — it’s here to keep your testosterone as high as your body can get it. On the fitness end of things, it also improves muscle pliability and exercise recovery.[10] Of particular interest, however, is that Shilajit improves bioavailability of other ingredients,[11] thanks to the fulvic acid it provides.

In our Ferodrox review below, you can listen to Mike’s story about why he personally has an affiinity for Shilajit. The stuff definitely doesn’t not work for him,to say the least…

  • DIM (Diindolylmethane) (120mg)

Lots of talk about testosterone optimization, but what about the other side — estrogen?!

Derived from cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower, DIM (Diindolylmethane) acts like an aromatase inhibitor. Aromatase is the enzyme that converts androgens into estrogens. By inhibiting the enzyme, we get to keep more testosterone in the plasma than usual, and also keep estrogen at a normal level. It has a few different mechanisms it works through, but the primary one is via aryl hydrogen receptor activation (a protein that can degrade estrogen receptors).[12]

Not all estrogen is “bad” – keep the balance!

    Kaged Muscle Ferodrox Patents

Despite all those patented ingredients, Kaged Muscle also third-party tests all of their products just in case!

Besides inhibiting aromatase, DIM maintains your estrogen balance. It does so by lowering “bad” estrogens while revving up the “good” estrogens. Believe it or not, we need estrogen to live. Getting rid of all the estrogen in the body is a bad thing, so keep that in mind.

By regulating this balance, DIM makes sure we have the estrogen we need and less of the estrogen we want to avoid as athletes.[13-14] While 120mg is a solid dose, it’s not as “top-of-the-line” as the other ingredients in Ferodrox (we’ve been seeing anywhere from 75-250mg of this). This is one of the challenges of a two capsule formulation, but the benefit is fewer pills to take!

We may sound like a broken record in this article, but as we go through this label, we’re left wondering if Kaged Muscle saw our frustration with most testosterone products and made exactly what we’d been asking for.

  • BioPerine (10mg)

How do you end a good formula in style? By revving up the BioPerine dose! Herbal ingredients are often plagued by low bioavailability, so most products often add BioPerine to help the body use everything in the formula more efficiently.[15] BioPerine is standardized for the piperine in black peppers, and the best study showed it improved the bioavailability of curcumin, another Ayurvedic herb, by 2000%!

The issue is that we don’t know how well it works with the given herbs here in Ferodrox, but we never turn it down since it takes up so little space. Remember that Shilajit also helps absorption, so we have a bioavailability tag-team going on!! 10mg is also more than we usually see (5mg is the standard), but in a capsule, why not?

Conclusion

Dennis Green Rant Meme

I just had to add this, folks. -Mike

If you’ve been looking for a testosterone booster that does what it says it does, Ferodrox is the first product you should reach for. It knows what it is: a testosterone optimizer.

Kaged Muscle may have set a new trend we can get behind with Ferodrox — an “honest testosterone booster”. There’s a reason why Kaged Muscle is one of the most imitated companies around… as is Kris Gethin’s model of honesty and testing! You now know what you’re getting into with Ferodrox, and it’s something we have no problem suggesting to nearly anyone. It’s designed to keep your androgens at healthy levels during times of crazy training, dieting, or stress.
